This weekend, English audiences are getting a new round of Red Dwarf, the popular British sit-com-in-space that's long been seen as one of the best examples of how to do Sf comedy.
The new episodes take place on Earth (the show has long mucked about in time and space), with the Guardian noting that since the last set was struck 9 years ago, this is also an economic move. There's some talk, too, that this will be the final outing for the characters and the series, replacing a cliffhanger ending from a few years back that didn't go over well with most fans.
An attempt at a Us version was tried back in the 90s, though the project never made it out of the pilot stage.
Below is a "making of" doc for the Red Dwarf: Back To Earth event.
