In an exclusive interview at San Diego Comic-Con, Cbr spoke with legendary voice actor Stephanie Nadolny, known for her roles as Kid Goku in Og Dragon Ball and Gohan in Dbz. Nadolny has a particularly close relationship to both Goku and his firstborn son, given that she walked in their shoes for much of their early lives.

Nadolny initially got her start with Dragon Ball as the voice of Gohan in Funimation's Dbz English dub, before taking over as Kid Goku in Dragon Ball and later Dragon Ball Gt. At Sdcc, Nadolny spoke to Cbr about finally reprising her role as Goku in Dragon Ball Daima after over 10 years, as well as how she got into the role to begin with. Playing Gohan, let alone Goku, was never really part of the plan, but they’re so closely interconnected that it makes perfect sense in hindsight.

Per a press release from Toei Animation Partners, the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) will feature some big celebrations of fans' favorite long-running anime. On July 25, the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel will host the IGN San Diego Comic-Con 2025 After Party Presented by One Piece, which is set to include a trading card giveaway, numerous photo ops, a live DJ and an appearance from One Piece voice actor Colleen Clinkenbeard, who voices Monkey D. Netflix has a strong slate of anime series for this month, and the streamer decided to highlight all of them in a new video that teases what's ahead for some of its biggest titles. Due to the simultaneous release with Japan, the streamer is slowly drifting away from its binge format to release new episodes weekly instead of waiting to debut all of them at once when the season is over. The strategy has been paying off, with anime titles constantly figuring among the top 10 most-watched titles on the platform.

In just about three weeks, One Piece will resume its celebrated Egghead Arc with new episodes. In order to celebrate the show's triumphant return, Crunchyroll released through IGN a subbed trailer for the brand-new episodes that are about to be unveiled to fans. It teases the very first mission that Monkey D. Luffy (voiced by Mayumi Tanaka in the original Japanese and by Colleen Clinkenbeard in the English dub ) and the Straw Hats will take on. The anime is set to return on April 6.

Amazon Prime has joined the AI bandwagon and so far, it isn’t faring well. To be honest, anything AI has been met with contempt so far, be it AI-generated animation or songs. It is an insult to life itself, yes, but more than that it is a major disrespect to art, artists, and their laborious years.

Strong World is a notable entry to the franchise for several reasons, including being one of the few One Piece films that had Eiichiro Oda himself as the writer. As with many of the franchise's movies, Strong World was well-received, opening with over one billion yen over its domestic opening weekend. It also opened on 188 screens and sold out 103 of those showings throughout the weekend. This led to the film's per-screen average being the record for a nationwide release in Japan at the time, with an average of 5.52 million yen.

The Straw Hat Pirates usually win their battles in One Piece, but victory is never guaranteed. This helps keep up the tension of the story and prompts the characters to grow and change as they face brand-new road blocks. Very few of their losses are fights they're close to winning. Ah, "Fullmetal Alchemist." Hiromu Arakawa's breakout manga follows two alchemist brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, on a quest to find the Philosopher's Stone. It's one of my favorite anime and a key reason I think about it so often is because it's really two anime in one. Studio Bones adapted Arakawa's original "Fullmetal Alchemist" manga twice, first in 2003 then again in 2009 for a second, more faithful anime known in the West as "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood."

The two shows complement each other by being so different.

Shonen anime and rivalries just go hand in hand. The most iconic rivalries are often between two characters whose fates seem intertwined. Space Dandy was a 2014 sci-fi series by Shinichiro Watanabe, which was primarily comedic, in contrast to Cowboy Bebop's often moody and dramatic tone. A One Piece fans enormous Lego model of the Marineford Battle has recently gone viral on Reddit after it was spotted in a collectors shop in Mongolia. The creator and designer, Bayasgalan Bayaara, stated that the model took six months, one million Lego bricks, 5,000 Lego Minifigures and 25 Lego ships.

The creator, Bayasgalan Bayaraa, is the owner of Kids Toys Mongolia and appeared on Mongolian news last year when he first debuted the Marineford Battle Castle. A screengrab photo from the news segment was posted on Reddit, where Bayaara commented, "We are so happy that we finished our One Piece Marineford Castle after 6 months. That is around 2,000 kg with 1,000,000 lego bricks, 5.000 Lego Minifigures and 25 Big Lego Ships."

Yoshitoki Oima, the author and illustrator of A Silent Voice, illustrated the Fairy Tail heroine for the series' official social media X account, commemorating the TV airing of the 100 Years Quest anime series. Oima's illustration of Lucy is a little risqu, as the Celestial Wizard is wearing little clothing sans a scarf around her chest. For longtime fans of Fairy Tail or fans of Hiro Mashima in general, the slightly suggestive artwork of Lucy isn't far from the norm. However, for those who follow Oima's works such as A Silent Voice or To Your Eternity, her somewhat provocative artwork of Lucy might come as a surprise.

Nintendo Direct has offered exciting news for manga and anime fans in the form of a new game, announcing Gust's Fairy Tail 2 with a first trailer and release window now officially revealed.

Via Nintendo of America on YouTube, the sequel to 2020's Fairy Tail game, Fairy Tail 2, will be released in Winter 2024 on Nintendo Switch. The announcement was made at Nintendo Direct on June 18, 2024, alongside the new trailer. Fairy Tail 2 will adapt the "Alvarez Empire" arc, which served as the finale to the original Fairy Tail series.
