With less than 60 days to go before Sean Combs is sentenced, the “All About the Benjamins” performer has once again come up short on his desire to get out on a $50 million bond, a federal judge ruled this afternoon.
‘As for risk of flight or danger, Combs fails to meet his burden by clear and convincing evidence for the reasons set forth on the record at the July 2, 2025 hearing,” Judge Arun Subramanian ruled today after a weekend of filings from both the prosecution and the defense on this latest release attempt. Combs’ team, along with an August 3 letter of support from Awol trial witness Victim-3 a.k.a. Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Virginia Huynh, have insisted over and over that their admittedly domestic violence perpetrator client poses no flight risk or danger and, thanks to therapy, has changed.
The judge wasn’t buying it.

Remember your old history textbooks, when you’d read a chapter about a dark or difficult period in the past and wonder, “How did people handle living through that?” In the 20th century, that meant the Great Depression and two world wars, as well as violence against people of color and all sorts of oppression. Reading those books, we were kinda smug: “Man, people were really terrible back then! Good thing we’ve evolved as more accepting, inclusive human beings!”
I’m not sure the kids reading history textbooks today (do they still have textbooks? Have they been banned yet?) are feeling as smug. But it’s very likely that students learning about 2025 in 50 or 100 years are going to be asking the same question. So, how are we living through this?
Not well. The past few weeks have been extremely difficult for the free media, and it’s too soon...

Maria Shriver, the former First Lady of California and John F. Kennedy’s niece, has denounced the GOP bill that seeks to rename the Kennedy Center, founded in 1971, after President Donald Trump.
Rep. Bob Onder (R-Missouri) introduced a bill earlier this month – entitled the “Make Entertainment Great Again Act” – which would “designate the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as the ‘Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts’.”
Onder proclaimed, “I cannot think of a more ubiquitous symbol of American exceptionalism in the arts, entertainment, and popular culture at large than President Trump.”
Onder’s proposal comes just one week after Republicans proposed naming the opera house at the Kennedy Center after First Lady Melania Trump.
On July 28, Shriver reposted a report on the matter, commenting, “This is insane. It makes my blood boil. It’s so ridiculous, so petty, so small-minded. Truly, what is this about?...

Whether you like it or not, Donald Trump is a pop culture staple, declared Stephen Colbert during his Tuesday monologue on The Late Show.
When discussing a House Republican proposal to rename the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts after President Donald Trump, Colbert mockingly defended the bill by arguing, “Trump is a patron of the arts and a staple of the pop culture landscape.”
“I’m sorry, but it’s true. Trump is a staple of pop culture,” Colbert reiterated, before adding: “Just last week, he was great on South Park.

Exclusive: Donald Trump is heavily weighing giving Sean “Diddy” Combs a full presidential pardon ahead of the convicted Bad Boy Records founder’s sentencing later this year.
Nearly two months after Trump publicly entertained the notion of a Diddy pardon in an Oval Office gaggle, a comprehensive get out of jail card for Combs is being “seriously considered,” an administration source tells Deadline.
Additionally, as several associates of the much-accused and currently incarcerated “All About the Benjamins” performer have been pitching the White House, other insiders confirm the topic has leveled up from “just another Trump weave to an actionable event” since Combs was found partially guilty in the his New York City sex-trafficking trial earlier this month. Of course, as a number of parties attest, this being the roller coaster of Trumpworld, any decision on a Combs pardon is in flux until Potus actually puts his signature on paper.

Michael Wolff’s Donald Trump biography, Fire and Fury, has made some damning allegations against First Lady, Melania Trump. The book claimed that she was “very involved” in Trump’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The author shared that she was introduced to Trump by a model agent, who was acquainted with both Trump and Epstein.
The author shared, “She’s introduced by a model agent, both of whom Trump and Epstein are involved with. She’s introduced to Trump that way. Epstein [knew] her well” (via RadarOnline). He also went on to make the claim that Trump and Melania had their first s*x on Epstein’s airplane. The author wrote:
Epstein said the first time Donald Trump and Melania had s*x was on his airplane, so this is another complicated dimension in this.
He also went on to reiterate these claims in an Instagram video on Monday. He claimed...

A new GOP-backed bill seeks to rename the Kennedy Center in honor of Donald Trump. Introduced by Representative Bob Onder, a Republican from Missouri, the “Make Entertainment Great Again (Mega) Act” aims to recognize Trump’s supposed dedication to the preservation of the arts by changing the name the country’s premier performing arts center in honor of the former reality TV star–turned–president. If passed, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts would be officially known as the “Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts.”
“From books and television shows to board games, movies, and more; when it comes to the arts, President Trump’s golden touch has captivated and entertained audiences for decades,” a press release on Onder’s website reads. It goes on to describe Trump’s The Apprentice and appearances in film and TV as enamoring American and British viewers, specifically highlighting...

The Hill reports that a new bill introduced in the House of Representatives would rename The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as the 'Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts,' marking a significant departure from the center’s historic association with President John F. Kennedy. The legislation, put forward by Rep. This latest proposal follows a separate effort by House Republicans earlier this month to rename the Kennedy Center’s opera house after First Lady Melania Trump. With just a week left before the return of King of the Hill, the show’s loyal fandom is gripped with both fear and excitement. A great many beloved shows from yesteryear have returned recently with varying results — Beavis and Butt-Head rocked, but Frasier most decidedly did not. So how will the citizens of Arlen, Texas fare in 2025?
I waded through hell and high water in Facebook’s biggest King of the Hill fan group to better understand the hopes and fears of the show’s biggest fans.
The very first response I got from my initial post was from a user who expressed their fear that the show could “go completely Woke.” This is, of course, to be expected in our godforsaken political climate, but I was still surprised by the number of comments utterly consumed with this worry. Donald Trump said that AI companies can’t be expected to pay for the use of copyrighted content in their systems, amid a fierce debate over the use of intellectual property in training models.
Speaking at the AI Summit on Wednesday, Trump said: “You can’t be expected to have a successful AI program when every single article, book or whatever you’ve studied you’re expected to pay for. We appreciate that, but you just can’t do that because it’s not do-able. And if you’re going to try and do that, you’re not going to have a successful program.”
Trump called for what he characterized as “common sense artificial and intellectual property rules,” saying that the U.S. can’t afford to fall behind China, which does not have strong IP protections.
“When a person reads a book or an article, you’ve gained great knowledge.

House Republicans have made passage of the fiscal 2026 Interior-Environment spending bill contingent, at least for now, on renaming the opera house at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after Melania Trump.
The procedural markup of the spending bill voted on by House appropriators on Tuesday contained a short amendment from Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson: “Makes technical changes, designates the First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.”
The amendment was adopted by a vote of 33 to 25, though the proposed legislation with the renaming amendment has yet to receive a vote by the full Congress, nor is such polling assured.
Other sycophantic Republican lawmakers have similarly looked to honor (and flatter) Trump during his second term by, for example, Congressman Addison McDowell proposing legislation to redesignate Washington Dulles International Airport as Donald J. Trump International Airport; new Texas Rep. Brandon Gill proposing a measure to require all $100 bills...

The opera house at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts may soon bear a new name: the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.” The Hill reports that House Republicans on the Appropriations Committee voted 33-25 on Tuesday to approve an amendment to the annual spending bill for interior, environment, and related agencies that would rename the venue in honor of the former first lady. The amendment is part of a broader package of proposals included in the fiscal legislation. This move comes several months after President Donald Trump reshaped the Kennedy Center’s board and appointed himself as chair, a break from tradition that drew criticism at the time. Trump accused the institution of being too “woke.” Both Donald and Melania Trump <a...

Republicans have proposed naming the opera house at the Kennedy Center after First Lady Melania Trump.
The proposal was part of an amendment offered by Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) as the House Appropriations Committee considered a bill for the coming fiscal year. Simpson cited Melania Trump’s support for the arts.
Simpson called it an “excellent way to recognize her support and commitment to promoting the arts.”
The amendment passed 33-25.
Donald Trump took control of the Kennedy Center just weeks into his second term. He fired Joe Biden’s appointees to the board, even though the center by tradition has retained a bipartisan balance among its trustees. The move ensured that Trump himself would become chairman, ousting David Rubenstein.

A Republican amendment on a spending bill for fiscal year 2026 would rename the Opera House, the second-largest venue in the Kennedy Center, as the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House,” Punchbowl reports.
The GOP-led House Appropriations Committee unveiled the spending bill on July 14th with the amendment being reported on July 22nd. The language states “That the Opera House located in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts shall be known and designated as the ‘First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.’”
No word yet on whether opera glasses will be banned in favor of the official Melania squint.
The Kennedy Center is funded by the Interior, and throughout its second term the Trump administration has abused the Washington DC arts foundation as a kind of stand-in for artsy liberals everywhere. A February Trump takeover led to resignations, which were followed by further firings and the cancelation of over 20 shows.

If we’re being charitable, Donald Trump’s military parade on Saturday was extremely underwhelming. So it was easy pickings for late night comedians, who took great delight in finding yet another thing to clown the president about.
Amid grim news at home and abroad — including Ice raids, soldiers on the streets of Los Angeles, the Israel-Iran conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza — Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon and Jon Stewart took the chance for a small bit of joy at Trump’s misery attending his poorly attended parade and compared the event to the millions who marched at Saturday’s “No Kings” protests that were held across the U.S.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, host Kimmel dove straight into the parade at the top of his monologue. The parade, which was ostensibly to celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army but also happened to land on Trump’s birthday,...

Stephen Colbert described Donald Trump‘s brain as “wet bread” on Thursday’s (June 12) episode of The Late Show as the president struggled to answer a simple question about the musical Les Misérables. The late-night host played a clip of Trump on the red carpet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for Wednesday’s (June 11) performance of the French anti-government protest epic. In the video, Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, spoke highly of the production, saying, “I’ve seen it, we’ve seen it a number of times. It’s fantastic.” However, when asked which character he identifies with more, Jean Valjean or Javert, Trump was stumped. “That’s a tough one. The last part of that question, that’s tough, I think,” he said before turning to Melania and saying, “You better answer that one, honey. I don’t know.” “What do you mean you don’t know?...

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were met with a “mixed” reaction as they walked into Washington’s Kennedy Center on Wednesday for the opening night of Les Misérables. Footage shows the couple waving at the crowd from the presidential box, as fellow attendees welcomed them with a mix of cheers and boos, before a chant of “USA” broke out. “President Trump and the first lady take their seats at the Kennedy Center. Reception: mixed,” the source wrote. Vice President Jd Vance, who was booed when he attended a performance from the National Symphony Orchestra at the D.C. venue in March, also attended Wednesday’s showing. Donald and Melania Trump did not receive the warmest welcome as they arrived at their first show at the Kennedy Center.
The 78-year-old President and the 55-year-old First Lady made a rare public appearance together at the opening night Les Misérables held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
The night marked the first event the couple has attended at the Kennedy Center after Trump, just a few days into his second presidential term, named himself as chairman of the Kennedy Center and got rid of most of what he called “woke” leadership, installing a new board of conservative supporters in their place.
As he and Melania arrived at the event, they were met with a mix of applause and boos, as seen in a video shared on YouTube.
Keep reading to find out more…Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha, were also in attendance at the performance.

See video from inside the auditorium below. Trump arrived in full tuxedo alongside First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Jd Vance and his wife Usha, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and newly installed Kennedy Center board members Maria Bartiromo and Laura Ingraham. Ric Grenell, the president’s handpicked interim head of the Center, was also on site. Audience reactions to Trump’s arrival were mixed, with cheers, boos, and a chant of “USA!” all echoed through the lobby as patrons passed through enhanced security screenings. In case you’re somehow unaware, Trump’s deportation program has led to a volatile situation in LA, as residents of the area have demanded that Ice be reined in.

Amid online speculation that Donald Trump’s administration has been targeting Harvard University for rejecting his youngest son, Barron Trump, First Lady Melania Trump has said that Barron never applied to the Ivy in the first place.
A spokesperson for Melania told People, “Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false.”
Barron is presently a freshman at New York University, but questions as to where he applied — and presumably, was rejected — continue to plague his college experience.
On Tuesday, May 27, the Trump administration slashed another $100 million in federal funding to Harvard, compiling roughly $3.2 billion in frozen grants and contracts with the Ivy from the last month.
This move came following Harvard’s refusal to adhere to the Trump administration’s April list of demands, which targeted Dei initiatives, the admission of international students and more progressive policies.

50 Cent is banking on some gangster game recognizing gangster game in an effort to halt any pardon consideration for Sean “Diddy” Combs by Donald Trump.
After Potus said Friday in the Oval Office that he would “certainly” consider clemency for Combs after taking a “look at the facts,” the In Da Club rapper went into overdrive to deny his rival any chance at a Commander-in-chief Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card, preemptive or not.
“He said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not Ok,” Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson wrote online Saturday, mere hours after the former Apprentice host made his comments about his old party pal Diddy, who is currently amidst a sex-trafficking trial. “Im gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy.”

What did she do with that chicken drumstick? Did she really play the jaw harp for the Scissor Sisters? As her new movie High Rollers is released, the actor is ready to answer all
Gina Gershon has been on our screens for nearly 40 years, during which she has starred in scene-stealing roles opposite some of Hollywood’s biggest actors. In her more likable moments, she orders an orgasm from cocktail-maker Tom Cruise in Cocktail (“How many would you like?” “Multiple” – fnar fnar) and takes a bullet for Nicolas Cage in Face/Off. In her less likable (but equally scene-stealing) moments, she receives a lapdance from – and gets pushed down the stairs by – Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls, chops Val Kilmer into small pieces in Breathless, gets murdered under the supposed watch of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Belushi in Red Heat, and is forced by Matthew McConaughey to simulate oral sex on a chicken drumstick in Killer Joe.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump took a look at the case of Todd and Julie Chrisley… skimmed over the fact that they were found guilty of tax evasion and financial fraud of a jury of their peers… and basically decided:
Hey, they’re rich and white and they like me! They shouldn’t be in prison!
President Trump then issued a pardon for the Chrisleys.
As you might expect, such a decision has garnered quite a bit of backlash.

Donald Trump pardoned convicted fraudsters and fellow former reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley on Tuesday, drawing ire from the hosts of “The View” on Wednesday morning. For the ABC hosts, it’s just further proof that “there is a huge ‘For Sale’ sign on the lawn of the White House.”
The Chrisleys were originally charged with tax evasion and bank fraud back in 2019, during the first Trump administration. Teeing up the discussion on Wednesday, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was visibly exhausted and bothered, asking “is anybody going to have a problem with this, or — because this is the law and order president — or are people already numb to this?”
Host Joy Behar definitely had a problem with it though.

But Chloe isn’t just SNL’s resident shape-shifter. Since joining the cast in 2019, she’s gone from promising newcomer to one of the show’s standout players. Beyond Studio 8H, she’s popped up in major projects, including Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis and even starred in buzzy campaigns. She’s got the range, the voice, the physical comedy chops, and a social media game that’s both weird and wonderful.

The political world just got a dash of reality TV-level chaos, after conservative commentator Candace Owens dipped her hands into the pot. While she was previously sharing her opinion on Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal drama, as Owens recently attacked the French President, Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte Macron, things spiraled out of control.
Turns out, Candace Owens dropped a wild 40-minute video accusing Brigitte Macron of secretly being transgender, with zero evidence. Owens even hinted that the French President himself was threatening legal action. And just when things couldn’t get messier, a viral video showed the French First Lady slapping the President in the face during a trip to Vietnam.

Colin Jost landed a barrage of comedy haymakers this season on Saturday Night Live’s most consistently funny segment: Weekend Update. Here are 20 of Season 50’s best punchlines, courtesy of SNL’s charmingly smug anchorman.

2
“Well, guys, the election is exactly 30 days away. Just think, in only 30 days, this whole nightmare will be nowhere close to over.”
3
“Donald Trump held a rally today at the site of the Coachella Music Festival, because just like Trump, Coachella brings out the worst in white people.”

Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. The disease has spread to his bones, as Biden was diagnosed on Friday after he sought medical treatment for urinary symptoms.
Biden’s Cancer Isn’t Curable, But It Is Treatable
Doctors found a nodule on his prostate. According to the statement from his office, he was diagnosed with a “Gleason score of 9 and grade group 5 prostate cancer with metastasis to the bone.” His cancer is not curable, but it is hopefully treatable; however, with the scores mentioned above, the cancer can grow and spread very quickly.
The American Cancer Society states that a prostate cancer’s grade group is indicative of how likely the tumor is to grow and spread, and how quickly it could occur.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone sensitive, which allows for effective management.

Sarah Sherman is giving her side of the Aimee Lou Wood “Saturday Night Live” beef.
Back in April, “SNL” aired a parody of “The White Lotus” featuring Sherman as an extremely unflattering caricature of Wood’s character, Chelsea. In a recent sit-down with Vanity Fair, Sherman says the sketch was not made with any ill intention.

The sketch in question, titled “The White Potus,” was a pre-taped segment targeted mostly at Donald Trump and his inner circle of constituents. It starred James Austin Johnson as the President, Chloe Fineman as Melania Trump, Mikey Day as Donald Trump Jr. and Jon Hamm...

Stephen Colbert is backing Donald Trump on his claim that Melania has not been seen around the White House because she’s a “very private person.” Last Sunday, Trump gave “Meet the Press” journalist Kristen Welker that explanation when asked about his wife’s absence.
“Yeah, she’s a very private person who has film crews following her around for the $40 million documentary about her life,” Colbert said on Thursday night’s episode of “The Late Show.”
Melania Trump is currently filming a documentary for Amazon Prime Video that promises to be a behind-the-scenes look at her life that’s directed by Brett Ratner. The director was “canceled” in 2017 after several women came forward accusing him of rape, sexual assault and harassment. Warner Bros. severed ties with Ratner following those accusations.

Exclusive: Hated. Adored. Never ignored. An ambitious, big-budget movie biopic about Donald Trump is in the works from Ferrari and To The Bone producer Andrea Iervolino.
Prolific Italian producer Iervolino will be at the Cannes market talking to potential partners with an aim to shoot at the end of 2025 in the U.S. Iervolino is aiming to corral a huge budget for the project with a $100M tag being floated. Cast has yet to be set.
We understand the film will be “kinder” to Potus than The Apprentice, the Oscar-nominated biopic starring Jeremy Strong and Sebastian Stan. Trump’s team famously took umbrage at that movie and tried to have it blocked from release around this time a year ago.

Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself as the Pope this week and, though it angered many Catholics, Seth Meyers is pretty sure Melania Trump actually did vote for her husband to become the next Pope. But that’s only because it would force them to divorce.
To kick off his monologue on Tuesday night, the NBC host first called out one of Trump’s more recent social media posts, in which he called to re-open Alcatraz prison. Meyers wasn’t too concerned about the idea though, instead joking that it just indicates that Trump probably watched Clint Eastwood’s “Escape From Alcatraz.”
“I love that you can tell from his social media posts what movie he watched on the plane,” Meyers joked. “Honestly, I’m dying to know what he thought of ‘Conclave.'”
At that, the fake image of Trump as the Pope appeared onscreen, as the real conclave began Wednesday morning.

Following a commencement at the University of Alabama, President Donald Trump drew criticism for crudely impersonating a transgender athlete.
While addressing women’s sports policies, Trump proceeded to mock the inclusion of transgender women in female athletic competitions. “You ever see the weightlifting where they have a record that wasn’t broken in 18 years?”
What followed was a dramatized scenario where a female weightlifter failed to lift a minimal amount of weight, only to be outperformed by a “transitioned person.”
“Should I do it or not? All right, I’m in trouble when I get home,” he said, “I’ve been in trouble before, but no, you look at the weightlifting where it stands for 18 years, and they have this young woman and her parents. They’re so proud of her. It’s 209 pounds, and she will lift that.”

A new report has revealed that a group of cryptocurrency traders made suspiciously timed transactions in tandem with Donald Trump’s wife Melania’s cryptocurrency token launch—and banked almost $100 million in profits.
Melania revealed the $Melania coin on Jan. 19 via TruthSocial, just hours before Trump’s inauguration. Due to the time of the announcement, the token’s visibility shot up, causing its value to rise at a rapid rate. Approximately 81% of the sold coins were purchased within 12 hours of Melania’s announcement.
Two dozen digital wallets purchased large sums of the token – netting a total of $99.6 million – just two and a half minutes before Melania unveiled the currency. One especially striking transaction saw a trader purchase $681,000 in $Melania tokens, within a minute of Melania making her announcement. This trader specifically profited $39 million within one day, gaining an extra $4.4 million in the following three days, according to a report in the Financial Times.

As Netflix scraps an epic series exploring the Purple Rain star’s complexities, and Max takes down Leaving Neverland, we ask: are celebrity-endorsed docs, such as the $40m Melania Trump hagiography, the future?
It can be a painful thing, acknowledging that our heroes are both human and flawed, but Ezra Edelman spent five years doing just that. The film-maker behind 2016’s sprawling, Oscar-winning Oj: Made in America, was at work for Netflix on what, by all accounts, would have been the definitive Prince documentary: a nine-hour behemoth drawing upon dozens of interviews with the late icon’s associates and rare access to his personal archive.
The film – according to the few who’ve seen a rough cut – built a layered portrait of Prince’s immense genius and complexities, including a darker side concealed by his playfully eccentric persona: his allegedly cruel treatment of girlfriends and female proteges; his demanding ruthlessness as a bandleader.

Jon Stewart highlighted Donald Trump’s second term so far with a special episode dubbed “President Trump’s Second First 100 Days: An Incredible 100 Days With Zero Disturbance.”
In the episode, Stewart reflected on Trump’s first 100 days in office. The late-night host emerged from under his desk in a long white beard, intoning, “I’m so tired. It’s aging this nation in Tom Hanks’ Castaway years.”
Stewart eventually re-emerged without the beard before playing a clip of Trump proclaiming that he had “the most successful 100 days in the history of our country.
