Five of the 11 acts on tomorrow's (31.03.12) episode of 'The Voice' are recycled singers. The BBC One talent show - which features will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue as coaches - will screen auditions from an 80s pop star, three 'X Factor' failures and a West End actress. Heshima Thompson has made his second bid for X Factor success this year, it has been reported.
The 24 year old singer – who previously worked as a backing singer for the late star Amy Winehouse – is reported to have made the bootcamp stage of the TV competition, which started filming at the weekend.
Heshima – who is also an actor and recently starred in Eastenders spinoff show E20 – tired out for the new judging panel – Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh – earlier this year and insiders say he blew the judges away with his rendition of UsHer’s Omg.
However, it won’t be Thompson’s first time trying out for the ITV show. We reported back in 2009 that he wowed Simon Cowell at London tryouts that year, by singing ‘Breakeven’ by The Script. He made bootcamp then too, but was eliminated before the judges houses stage.

MI5 agents are an industrious and resilient bunch - none more so than a particular young recruit who shot to prominence in Spooks: Code 9. Reformed criminal Jez Cook was snapped up to serve his country in 2013, a year after the Olympic Games were subjected to a devastating nuclear attack that threw England into turmoil. After tackling more bombs, terrorists and moles, Jez has now been plunged back in time for his latest mission - to infiltrate the 2009 series of The X Factor. And his first appearance was on last Saturday's show. A quick look at his Code 9 file, which features comments from his acting alter ego Heshima Thompson, shows that Jez has previously operated as part of Amy Winehouse's band. Presumably, Thames House must have a narcotics wing in operation. But his experience as a backing singer to someone with such massive exposure must have stood (more)...
