Sophia Bernard(III)

IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Sophia is a 12-year-old actress, singer, and dancer. She has studied voice for 6 years and danced competitively for 7 years. Regional credits: Matilda (Matilda), Les Misérables (Gavroche), Mary Poppins (Jane Banks), and A Christmas Story (Esther Jane). Sophia's performance as Matilda at the Croswell Opera House was recognized by BroadwayWorld as one of the Best Youth Performances in A Musical. Reviewers stated, "Enough can not be said about how perfect, organic, and downright infectious [Sophia] is leading the charge. I was absolutely awestruck at the spunky stage presence and ace vocals on this young actress." (Nate Adams) For her portrayal of Gavroche in Les Misérables, critics remarked, "It's obviously interesting that [the] director cast a girl in this role, but the youngster who, it must be remembered, was terrific in the lead role in the Croswell's Matilda is as solid as can be in this part." (Daily Telegram) In addition to her work on stage, Sophia recorded the original musical score and video for the award-winning documentary "Trust Me".

Local credits: Annie (Molly) and A Christmas Carol (Tiny Time). Sophia recorded and performed the original song "What's the Truth" for the award winning documentary, Trust Me. She was recently cast in Ragtime (Little Girl) by the Toledo Opera. Performances begin in April.

When Sophia is not singing, dancing, or acting, she enjoys learning sign language, writing songs, reading, and golfing.
