Sherrie Richards, born in Spartanburg, SC; daughter of Gwendolyn Stanley and Richard Hoey Sr. was born into very humble beginnings. At age 5, her parents divorced; by age 7, her family home had burned down, and by age 9, she'd moved to Charlotte NC and attended ~5 different schools for 5th grade alone. The rocky life continued through High School until she attended Victory Christian Center School, in Charlotte, NC.
The leadership and mentoring from VCCS solidified Sherrie's foundation in faith, character, discipline, and accountability. She went on to have one son, King Hoey, before getting married and having daughter Victoria Monai Richards. Sherrie attended university and community college for Civil Engineering, but couldn't finish because of family obligations. After being introduced to the brokerage world via contract work in 1998; she had a few stints in HR before joining Wachovia as a teller in 2000.
She went on to have a successful 22 year career before parting ways with Wells Fargo in June of 2022, as the Managing Director of Sales and Trading. Believing that she was called to a higher purpose in the film industry, she transitioned to the West Coast, with daughter Victoria Monai Richards to make movies that honor God, are family friendly, and don't require her daughter who is also a writer-actor-director to go against her moral foundation.
After one year in Hollywood, Sherrie committed half of her life savings to fully fund their first feature film 'Tricked and Treated' that she and daughter Victoria co-wrote and produced. Victoria went on to direct and star in the farce comedy that audiences around the world are enjoying on the festival circuit. To date, 'Tricked and Treated' has won 12 awards and have 15 selections and counting. Sherrie gives all honor and glory to her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
