Ariane Anne Meijer was born in Amsterdam. She was a model for Wehkamp.
As an actress, she played bit parts in Dutch TV-series 'Zeg 'ns Aaa', 'Ha, die Pa', 'Goudkust' and 'Costa!'.
After marrying Olivier Spier she went by the name Ariane Spier. She started hosting Dutch TV-programs like 'Geboeid' and 'Explosief'.
She divorced Spier in 2003 and re-used her maiden name. She quit TV and started a career in writing. She wrote a book on dating men and also wrote three thrillers, 'Koud Zuid (2007), Wit goud (2008) and Zwart zaad (2009).
She married Alwin van der Toorn in 2009 but this marriage became strained.
After having suffered from depression, Ariane Meijer committed suicide on 28 August 2015. She was 48.
