When thinking about the hugely successful and wildly popular American remake of The Office, the name Debbie Brown isn't likely to ring many bells. Although never seen, she looms large in Season 3, Episode 21, "Product Recall." Without ever meeting her, viewers experience her downfall and the Machiavellian way Creed Bratton brings it about.
At the paper company, a disgruntled employee adds an obscene watermark that is never revealed to the audience. Still, viewers can discern from vocalized descriptions that it is an image of cartoon animals engaged in some form of sexual congress. Of course, this causes much consternation for clients and employees alike. Manager Michael Scott lays the blame at Creed's feet in an all-hands-on-deck meeting, as the error was within his purview. For the long-time viewer, this is one of the few times in the series where the perpetually confused Creed's job as Quality Assurance Manager is acknowledged and defined.
