The Boss is taking Manhattan. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the anticipated biopic starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen, will premiere at this year’s New York Film Festival as the Spotlight Gala selection.
On Monday, the New York Film Festival announced the Scott Cooper-directed film that is earning early awards buzz, will have its premiere on Sept. 28.
The film is adapted from Warren Zanes’s 2023 best-selling book of the same name and focuses on a pivotal period in Springsteen’s career.

Bruce Springsteen is revealing what it was like to watch Jeremy Allen White portray him in his forthcoming biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
The film, hailing from writer-director Scott Cooper, stars White as the legendary artist, centering on the time period when he made his 1982 record Nebraska. The album is deeply personal, and Springsteen told Rolling Stone that there was “some unusualness” to watching the project be filmed because it touches on “some of the most painful days of my life.”
“I mean, there’s some unusualness to it because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life,” he said, adding that he would take time away from set “if there was a scene coming up that was sometimes really deeply personal.”
“Well, some of the scenes I wasn’t at,” he said. “I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I...

Bruce Springsteen is opening up about watching his biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” come to life, revealing that he sometimes avoided “deeply personal” scenes when he would visit set.
“Deliver Me From Nowhere,” in which “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White plays Springsteen, chronicles the making of his 1982 album “Nebraska.” The record would go on to become one of his most enduring works, and was made at a time when Springsteen was reconciling his newfound success with the ghosts of his past.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Springsteen was asked what it’s been like to watch someone else play a younger version of him. “I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than for me,” he responded. “Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set.”

Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

The 2000s were huge for the young adult genre. With fantasy kicking off in the aftermath of The Twilight Saga's success, which adapted Stephenie Meyer's book series, many studios rushed to adapt popular stories.
Aside from Harry Potter and Twilight, some successful adaptations got the opportunity to become great franchises, like The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and the slightly less successful Divergent. However, not all adaptations of young adult fantasy stories were a success, such as Lauren Kate's Fallen. The 2009 novel was turned into a film in 2016 and, following a poor reception and commercial run,Fallen has now become a hit on Netflix, Tudum reports.

The film adaptation of Fallen may have been a critical and commercial flop, but it is also gothic teenage heaven. It is based on the young adult book of the same name, the first in a six-book series that centers on a troubled teenage girl, Luce, as she is forced to choose between feelings for two fallen angels, Daniel and Cam. Fallen, like many other young adult series of its time, was a direct product of the Twilight craze, which saw an insatiable public thirst for romances between humans and various brooding non-humans after the release of Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular vampire-werewolf series.
Fallen takes a somewhat biblical approach to the fad, packed to the brim with lore about Lucifer's fall from heaven and reincarnation. Still, in true early-2000s love triangle fashion, most ofFallen's juiciest twists and turns concern "Team Daniel" and "Team Cam." Enjoying an overdue...

Jeremy Strong is giving a little insight into his forthcoming role in the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White.
While promoting The Apprentice opposite co-star Sebastian Stan in a recent interview with NME, Strong said one of the albums he has continually returned to is the rock singer-songwriter’s raw and introspective Nebraska. When asked about the connection between his answer and the upcoming feature, the actor confirmed reports from May that he would be in the project, as the singer’s longtime manager Jon Landau.
“Yeah, I am,” he said of being in the pic. “But I’d always felt that way about that album. Something about Nebraska just always spoke to me. There’s a melancholy to it. There’s a narrative to it that comes from a very deep place in him and you can feel that.”

Sci-fi is often designed to appeal to all ages, but R-rated sci-fi movies have the freedom to show extremely dark and violent futures. An R-rating allows a sci-fi movie to get more violent and more profane, which means that it can cater its story to a mature audience without having to worry. This suits dystopian fiction particularly well, as some visions of the future don't save room for redemption and silver linings.
The best dystopian sci-fi movies can show the bridge between the present and the bleak futures that they depict. Often, these dark futures aren't merely designed as warnings about what might come to pass. Instead, they are heightened reflections about prevalent topics in contemporary society, proving that the future isn't too far away after all. R-rated futuristic sci-fi movies can design their messages with an adult audience in mind.

Exclusive: Johnny Cannizzaro (Jersey Boys) has joined the ensemble cast of 20th Century’s Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. The New Jersey native will portray Springsteen’s longtime confidant and E-Street band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt, sources close to production tell Deadline.
Cannizzaro will star opposite The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White, who will bring “The Boss” to life in the feature film from director Scott Cooper. Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser and Harrison Sloan Gilbertson also star. Production is set to kick off in early fall.
Deliver Me From Nowhere, based on the Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, is set during a time when Springsteen, after grappling with personal demons and trying to wrap his arms around becoming a global superstar, wrote and recorded Nebraska, the 1982 album that rivals Joni Mitchell’s Blue as one of the most emotionally raw, dark and honest albums in recent music history.

At the end of In The Tall Grass, Travis redeems himself by sacrificing his own life to save Tobin and break the time loop. Tobin is essential in breaking the loop by warning his family and showing Becky the truth about Travis. While the cycle seems broken, the possibility remains that more sinners may fall victim to the field's hunger.
The following contains major spoilers for Netflix's In the Tall Grass, now streaming.
Based on the 2012 novella by Stephen King and Joe Hill, Netflix's In the Tall Grass is an existential experience, despite the seemingly simple-minded concept depicted in the trailers. In the heart of America, a couple of families become trapped in a field opposite a church, not realizing they're in a time loop and luring one another in.
This haunted field acts as a gateway to Purgatory, with a mystical rock judging the families for their sins.

Freedom's Path is a brutal Civil War drama about the horrors of slavery, an unlikely friendship, and the courageous few who risked death to run the Underground Railroad, a secret network that shepherded escaped slaves to the northern states. The film, gut-wrenching at times with its unflinching portrayal of racial oppression, regrettably treads into melodrama as characters stay rigidly defined to support the narrative's agenda. Pacing also becomes an issue as excessive flashbacks and an overly stylized approach stretches an already long runtime. That said, its powerful themes and unvarnished truth lessens the flaws for a worthwhile viewing experience.

The Australian medical drama series Harrow has enjoyed three successful seasons, but will there be a season 4? Debuting on Australia's ABC network in 2018, the series follows a forensic pathologist named Dr. Daniel Harrow (Ioan Gruffudd), who uses his special set of scientific skills to solve a variety of mysterious cases. Acclaimed for its deft balance of procedural storylines with overarching character drama, Harrow isn't a typical cozy mystery series. It invests a lot of time in the personal lives of its heroes. However, the mysteries still crackle with excitement each week, and Gruffudd's performance has been especially praised.
Mixing the familiar charm of the usual cozy mystery series that permeate Australian TV with the weekly drama of shows like Grey's Anatomy, Harrow stands head and shoulders above the usual medical procedurals.
