Captain America 4 Director Reveals Harrison Ford's First Reaction to Seeing Himself as Red Hulk
Image
Captain America: Brave New World marks director Julius Onah's fourth time directing a feature-length project, putting the relatively unheralded filmmaker among some top Hollywood veterans. Onah credits one of those veterans, acclaimed actor Harrison Ford, for making his experience worthwhile, claiming that meeting him remains a "pinch me moment" he'll always cherish.

During an interview with Deadline, Onah delved into his collaboration with Ford on Brave New World as they carved out Ford's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as U.S. President Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross/Red Hulk. The Nigerian-American filmmaker recalled watching Ford in Indiana Jones films as a child and in Clear and Present Danger after moving to the U.S., never thinking he'd have the opportunity to work with someone like him on a major production.

Chris Evans' 10 Best Movies And TV Shows
Image
The best Chris Evans movies and TV shows have almost been overshadowed by his work in comic book films. Evans' career has mostly been defined by his role as Steve Rogers, as he took on the character of Captain America for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011 and carried that role until his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, where he passed on the mantle to another hero in the MCU, Anthony Mackies Sam Wilson. Evans has said he plans to slow down his acting, but has not done so yet.

While most people know him from the flagship MCU role, he has a much wider and more diverse filmography than some fans might believe. He has played another superhero in the past as The Human Torch in the Fox Marvel movies, as well as in adaptations of comic books, Tmnt, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Snowpiercer. He has also...

Why Columbus Short Was Really Fired From Scandal (& Where He Is Now)
Image
Columbus Short's real-world behavioral issues, including substance abuse, led to his character's exit from Scandal. Short's off-set issues caused weaker storylines for his character, Harrison Wright, on Scandal. Since leaving Scandal, Columbus Short has continued to act in various roles and expressed interest in returning to a Shondaverse show.

Fans of Scandal were probably confused when Harrison Wright was suddenly off the show, but Columbus Short has since come out about the real reason he exited the series. The hit political thriller Scandal lasted for seven seasons before its series finale on April 19, 2018, which closed the book on Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) career as a DC political operative and fixer. By the end of the show, some characters on Scandal had received their fitting ends while others may have got the short end of the stick.

Harrison Wright was unceremoniously written off the show in the season 3 finale...

'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' & 'Encanto' To Battle For The Top Spot In Quiet Post-Thanksgiving Weekend
Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Celeste O'Connor in Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
After a busy Thanksgiving weekend which saw a solid-for-2021 $142 million five-day gross, things are taking a bit of a breather this weekend. The only new wide release is Focus’ specialty film Wolf, which is unlikely to displace any of last week’s box office winners. Expect a repeat of last weekend with Encanto, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and House of Gucci remaining in the top three, and we’ll see how well they hold as we await some of the year’s most anticipated films in the coming weeks. West Side Story, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Nightmare Alley, The Matrix Resurrections, and other big ticket holiday and award season films are just around the corner and will hopefully bring the pandemic-era box office to new heights.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Encanto will duke it out for the top spot this weekend. Encanto was in the lead last weekend, with $40.5 million compared to Ghostbusters’ $35 million for the five-day,...

The Losers: Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana’s Forgotten Superhero Movie
Image
Even The Losers get lucky sometimes. Before the Dceu was formed to compete against the ever-expanding, cash cow that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the approach at Warner Bros. was far looser. With the booming business of comic book adaptations in full swing, the studio was throwing money at several eclectic comic book titles like Watchmen and Jonah Hex, trying to stay competitive and seemingly more adult than their rivals. Hence before leaving to create his own superhero project, Hancock, writer-director Peter Berg started penning an adaptation of DC/Vertigo’s The Losers, bringing in French director Sylvain White to helm the picture.

Produced by Joel Silver, The Losers centered on a team of elite, black-ops Special Forces operatives betrayed by their handler. Director White connected with the material immediately.

“What appealed to me about The Losers was that it wasn’t the typical superhero-with-superpowers thing,” White told MTV. “It...

Starry Deals Driving an Unsettled American Film Market
Jason Statham at an event for The Beekeeper (2024)
Stars like Jason Statham, Gerard Butler, Liam Neeson and Ben Affleck have brought a semblance of stability to an unsettled American Film Market this week.

The boom in streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon along with the emergence of new services from Disney, Apple and Warner Bros. has disrupted the traditional business model for the independent sector.

“Netflix wants your movie early now,” noted Bron Studios exec Anjay Nagpal at Friday’s Afm finance conference. “They don’t want it any more after you couldn’t sell it at festivals.”

Jeffrey Greenstein, president of Millennium Media, said at the event that money offered by streamers has made it tougher to sign name actors such as Butler — who has done a trio of “Fallen” movies for Millennium.

“The numbers that Netflix, Amazon, Disney are able to offer are substantially higher than anyone can on the independent market,” Greenstein said. “Talent...

New Slender Man Trailer Brings a Horror Legend Out of the Shadows
The Slender Man legend is a lofty one. And some are very upset that it's become a throwaway horror movie. What started as an Internet campfire story turned to real life tragedy when two underaged girls tried to kill their best friend believing this mythical horror icon was real. Sony didn't make a movie about that. Instead, they've turned the Slender Man tale into a ghost story of the week. Today, we have the second trailer. It offers a few cool scares. But in the end, is it worth it?

In Slender Man, we visit a small town in Massachusetts. A group of friends perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of Slender Man. When one of them goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, His latest victim. This new trailer proves that big portions of this movie are going to be PG-13 thriller boring.

Olivia took a look back at what life could have been like for everyone if she had voted "no" on rigging the election in Defiance, Ohio all those years ago.

Our TV Fanatics Jim Garner, Sarah Hearson, Jasmine Blu, and Christine Orlando are here to discuss this look at an alternate reality, the future of the Gladiators, and Huck's faux "The Bachelor" addiction on Scandal Season 6 Episode 10.

Did you like the alternate chain of events?

Jim: It was fun to see a "what if" episode. I was kind of disappointed there wasn't even a mention of Harrison in the alternate timeline.

I understand Columbus Short had a pretty bad falling out with Shonda, but given how much he was a part of the beginning of Pope and Associates, I was hoping there would at least be a reference to him.

Sarah: I also thought it was weird that there...
