Overview

March 27, 1999 · Los Angeles, California, USA

Biography

    • Elora Ellis is an actress, writer and director based in Los Angeles. Before stepping into the world of film, she was deeply involved in science and academic research. Growing up as the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers working in IT, she attended Iran's nationally recognized National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents schools-an experience that nurtured her interest in chemistry and innovation.

During high school, Elora joined a chemistry research team, where she explored projects like antibacterial plastics and graphene-based materials. Her work received recognition in several national science festivals, including a third-place award at the Kharazmi National Festival. One of her early papers on biodegradable plastics opened the door to a student visa to the U.S., where she began her undergraduate studies in 2017.

As a sophomore, she worked as a research assistant at Georgia Tech, gaining hands-on experience in the lab. But while science remained important to her, she gradually became drawn to entrepreneurship and creative storytelling. After spending about a year developing product formulations, she moved to Miami to seek partners and support for a skincare concept she had been working on. This eventually led her to start her own company, Elora Clinic, where she continues to work on science-based skincare, including a unique formula she hopes to launch in 2026.

In 2023, after being moved by a TV series, Elora began exploring acting. What started as an interest quickly turned into something more meaningful. She began auditioning and working on short films, eventually landing a complex dual lead in the feature film The Evangelist. The process was challenging, but it solidified her passion for performance.

Later that year, she was cast in a thesis film at the New York Film Academy. Not long after, she was invited to direct the same project, which became the short film Morning Angel. This experience sparked her desire to create her own work and led to the launch of her independent production company, eLOR Production, in 2025.

As a filmmaker, Elora values collaboration, honesty, and creating safe, supportive environments on set. Her approach to storytelling is personal and instinct-driven-she focuses on telling stories truthfully and trusts the audience to take what they need from them.

"I believe everyone brings their own perspective to a film," she says. "My job is to tell the story. What it means-that's yours."

Elora is still early in her filmmaking journey, bringing together her scientific background, curiosity, and growing love for cinema as she continues to evolve in both business and storytelling.
