"Low Low" premiere at Arclight Hollywood
Film Review: ‘Low Low’
"Low Low" premiere at Arclight Hollywood
Four teen girls teeter on the precipice of uncertain futures in Nick Richey’s debut feature, “Low Low,” as the budding auteur’s realistic style nicely complements the precise performances, giving each actor an empathetic path into her character’s psyche. While the narrative occasionally falters, the visceral way in which the writer-director captures his subjects’ triumphs and travails provides an unflinching portrait of modern teens on the fringes of society.

In the final days of high school, Ryan (Ali Richey) is understandably worried about graduating. There aren’t many prospects for a working-class teen in Vancouver, Wash.. Her troubled home life, beset by a contentious relationship with her single mom Sylvia (Elaine Hendrix) and her mom’s revolving door of slacker boyfriends, has caused her to act out — a rebellion fueled by angst, drugs and booze. Surprisingly, she’s managed to show great potential with her schoolwork, impressing her teacher Dr.

'Fringe' - Forced Perspective
After two weeks of focusing on the series arc, we are back to a case of the week story on "Fringe." We can expect them to spoon feed us the story arc for most of the season now. Our A-story revolves around Emily Mallum (Alexis Raich), who has the ability to see a person's death. She draws the death, because she describes it as like a dream. It comes strong at first, but then fades. She first draws a man impaled by a girder walking near a construction site. She runs to the man, hoping the picture can serve as a warning, but he cannot avoid his fate. She is later riding on a bus and begins to draw again. She sees a man exit the bus and she follows, wanting to give him but he is gone before she can catch him. The drawing at the girder accident draws...

Fringe Ep. 4.10, “Forced Perspective”: Treads water instead of gearing up
Fringe Review, Season 4, Episode 10: “Forced Perspective”

Written by Ethan Gross

Airs Fridays at 9pm (Et) on Fox

This week, on Fringe: The Newninverse catches up, re:Observers, Olivia and Nina bond, and Emily can see dead people

At this point in Fringe’s fourth, and very likely final, season, it’s time for the arcing storylines to kick into gear. Yes, we’re less than half-way through the season and we’re far from the final push, but on the whole, season four has been glacially paced and it’s time for that to change. Yes, we needed several episodes to get to know the new versions of all our characters. Yes, we needed a few episodes for Peter to find his feet, and yes, the two-episode excursion to the Other Newniverse was worthwhile in establishing the rest of this new landscape. However, after nine...
