Back in June, Universal Studios Home Entertainment invited a group of journalists to sit down and have dinner with actor/screenwriter Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola to discuss their wonderful comedy Paul, which hits shelves on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, August 9.
For those unfamiliar with Paul, the movie stars Simon Pegg and his longtime co-star/co-writer Nick Frost as Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings, a pair of British geeks who travel to America to visit San Diego Comic-Con along with a slew of extra-terrestrial hot spots across the country. Ironically enough, they come across an actual alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) as they set off on a hilarious journey to get Paul back home.
The concept for Paul actually started on the set of Shaun of the Dead, when Simon Pegg and Nick Frost wanted to make a movie in a better climate than the dreary London weather.

Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola recently held a press dinner to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of their fantastic comedy Paul, which will hit the shelves on August 9. Simon Pegg also shed some light on a few of his other high-profile projects, such as Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, where he reprises his role of Benji Dunn from Mission: Impossible III. While he had a fairly small role in Mission: Impossible III, his role seems to be expanded in Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.
"I get on really well with J.J. (Abrams) and we'd always said if there was another Mission: Impossible, can Benji come back? It'd be fun for Benji to come back. I had two days on Mission: Impossible III. That was it. I did seven months on the fourth one so yeah, I go back."

This past Thursday, I was one of the lucky press members to have dinner with Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of their fantastic comedy Paul, which will hit the shelves on August 9. Most of our dinner conversation will be saved until we get closer to the release date, although Simon Pegg did speak about a number of other projects as well. While a specific production start date is not known Simon Pegg said that Star Trek 2 will start shooting sometime this fall.
"You do have to manage your time, but they can't tell you exactly, because they don't know. You just sort of say, 'Ok, I'm going to keep the fall free.' With a bit of luck, that will be for a reason."
Last week, we reported that Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright want to start writing The World's End,...
