‘D-Railed’ DVD Review

Written by Everette Wallin, Suzanne DeLaurentiis and Dale Fabrigar and directed by Fabrigar, D-Railed is a mystery set on a train that crashes into a river. The sinking train isn’t the only thing for the survivors to worry about though, because there’s a monster in the murky depths who wants some dinner, too. It’s a murder mystery on a train… but with a difference and some added horror to pump up the tension a bit.

This one intrigued me because the whole plot sounded so crazy to me, like a bunch of ideas all tossed into one movie. The problem with throwing so many things at the wall though,...

Upon reaching 2012′s cinematic midway point, I’ve found some grade-a entries into the horror genre haunting enough to make me clutch a blanket over my eyes, but man did I have to sift through some garbage to do so.

For every Cabin In The Woods, we got ten complete abominations incomparable to even the most mediocre productions, but I guess that’s what makes discovering phenomenal horror feel oh so good.

It’s a dirty job watching some of the films listed below, but I do it for you! Diving head first into the bloody mess of genre specific stinkers witnessed this year, I surface out of the muck to bring you my Top Five Worst Horror Films of 2012…so far.

Happy to return to Los Angeles after a Christmas break in New York, Trish and Jessie settle down aboard Optima Flight 37A. In the row behind them is a word-weary photojournalist and next to him a Us Marshall. In the adjoining row a caring guy is clearly trying to settle his girlfriend’s pre-flight nerves, while the capable stewardess is dealing with a loud and demanding passenger. The relentless bad weather attack causes utter panic and terror amongst the passengers until the plane ultimately crashes in a mysteriously remote and unknown area. DVD Review: 'Tape 407'
★☆☆☆☆ What do you say about a film which is so inept that the experience of sitting through it is frankly excruciating. Tape 407 (2011), the new horror (and that word is used in its loosest sense) film by directors Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin and starring Abigail Schrader, Samantha Lester and James Lyon leaves you speechless with its banality.

Area 407 is Only for Movie Masochists: A Movie Review
*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by IFC Midnight. Directors/writers: Dale Fabrigar, Everette Wallin. Cast: Abigail Schrader, Samantha Lester and James Lyons. There should be a law banning first time feature filmmakers from using the found footage style of filmmaking. Otherwise, a film such as Area 407 aka Tape 407 is created. This film is basically eighty plus minutes spent with a fourteen year old girl holding a shaky camera. She and her friends love to scream into the microphone while capturing too many shots of people's legs. Keep the camera higher ladies. There is no music to accompany the film and all of the dialogue was ad-libbed over a five day shooting period. Most films are shot between 15 to 20 days, but not this one. Characters stumble through a weak script and Area 407 gets the much deserved Worst Film of 2012 nomination on 28Dla. And...

Yet Another Official Area 407 One-Sheet Tears Its Way Online
Towards the end of last week we revealed the new poster for new found footage creature feature 'Area 407' (previously known as 'Tape 407'). The Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin helmed horror flick unleashed a very familiar looking poster which has got to have been heavily influenced by George A Romero's 'Diary of the Dead' one-sheet. Thankfully however this new poster is a tad more original although it does sort of scream 'Jurassic Park III' to me. Abigail Schrader, James Lyons, Melanie Lyons, Samantha Lester, Ken Garcia, Samantha Sloyan, Brendan Patrick Connor, Everette Wallin and Jude Gerard Prest all star. Check out the new poster below and catch it in select theatres and on VOD in the Us this Friday!...

Two New Posters for the Upcoming Found Footage Flick Area 407
An airplane crashes on a seemingly deserted island filled with danger, intrigue, and mystery. Now there’s an idea that’s never been done before! Below you’ll find two new posters for Dale Fabrigar’s “Area 407″, a film that was once known around these parts as “Tape 407″. The latest trailer for the flick only arrived yesterday (March 20th), so it’s not overly surprisingly that this part of promotional pieces have shown up to help keep the ol’ Internet buzz machine chugging right along. And while I’m always quick to poke fun at the film’s premise, I don’t think it looks all that bad. Honestly! Don’t believe me? Have a look at the trailer for yourself. Wiseguy. “Area 407″ stars Abigail Schrader, Samantha Lester, James Lyons, Melanie Lyons, Brendan Patrick Connor, Ken Garcia, Samantha Sloyan, Everette Wallin, and Jude Gerard Pres. IFC Midnight...

New Trailer for Found Footage Flick Area 407 (formerly Tape 407)
Another day, another Found Footage horror movie gets snatched up to be released on VOD with a (contractually obligated) limited theatrical run. So what else is new? Todd already posted a previous trailer for the movie (back when it was still called “Tape 407″), and now comes official news that IFC Midnight have snatched up North American rights to Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin’s thriller, including the spiffy new name change. I guess given the spacey-monsters-on-the-loose premise, “Area 407″ just sounds more sci-fi-y. (You know, “Area 51″ and such.) Area 407 features lost footage too real for reality and too disturbing for fiction. The film opens with two teenagers flying from New York to Los Angeles on New Years Eve. Their nightmare begins when their plane hits extreme turbulence mid-flight. The relentless weather attack causes panic and terror amongst the passengers until the plane ultimately crashes in a remote government-testing area. The...

Is the Brand New Area 407 Poster Ripping off Romeros Diary of the Dead
Found footage creature feature 'Area 407' (previously known as 'Tape 407') is due for release across the Us later this month in select theatres as well as on various VOD and digital outlets. Dread Central in the meantime have just unveiled a new exclusive one-sheet over on their site which you can check out below. The new poster is achingly similar to that of George A Romero's less than satisfying found footage zombie sequel 'Diary of the Dead' from back in 2007. Abigail Schrader, James Lyons, Melanie Lyons, Samantha Lester, Ken Garcia, Samantha Sloyan, Brendan Patrick Connor, Everette Wallin and Jude Gerard Prest all star in 'Area 407' and you can check out the new poster as well as a cheeky look at the fore-mentioned 'Diary of the Dead' poster. ‘Area 407′ Trailer: Don’t Crash Land in Jurassic Park
Found footage is still trending in the horror movie world, as evidenced by today’s trailer for Area 407, a film by directors Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin. The premise (as thoroughly laid out by the trailer) is that a group of people on a flight crash land into a secret government testing ground, where they are hunted down by some mysterious predator(s?).

Unless this film has some kind of twist up its sleeve (and I wouldn’t bet on that), this basically looks like a mix of The Grey and Jurassic Park - only not nearly as good as either of those films. I mean, it honestly seems – judging by the footage in this trailer – like these people have landed smack dab in the middle of the ...

Tape 407 opens with a group of people, including one pesky teenager with a camera, flying from New York to Los Angeles on New Year's Eve. Things go wrong when their plane hits extreme turbulence mid-flight, which leads to wild panic among the passengers until the plane crashes in a remote area. Unbeknownst to the victims, their planed crashed in a Us government-testing area, and those predators belong to the government's top-secret Mesa Experiment.
