Per People, Fogel reflected on creating Celebrity Deathmatch in a new interview, 28 years after he first pitched the series to MTV. He explained how he grew up as a fan of stop-motion animation, particularly Ray Harryhausen movies, along with other claymation TV shows of the era. On July 11, Shanghai Stadium was filled with 70,000 eager concert-goers, excited for West’s trademark high-energy performance after waiting hours in line to see him. However, the rapper showed up over 40 minutes late, and his show was marred by numerous technical problems that forced the DJ to restart multiple songs. Several people also alleged that West was lip-syncing to multiple songs on stage. A now-viral video on X shows an angry, disappointed audience chanting for a refund.

Tickets to the show cost between 980 and 2,689 yuan (roughly $137 to $374). The event promoter, StellarAmber Group, posted an explanation on China’s social media platform Sina Weibo, claiming that West’s late arrival and the technical issues were due to heavy rainfall around the time of the concert, which didn’t allow for proper setup according to West’s specifications.

Kanye “Ye” West is now facing sexual battery and sex trafficking allegations from his former assistant, who has attached an addendum to a previously filed suit alleging she was drugged and sexually assaulted during a studio session co-hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Lauren Pisciotta worked for the rapper and producer from 2021 until her employment was terminated in 2024, first as an A&r representative and then as Ye’s personal assistant. During the recording of the Grammy winner’s Donda album sessions, Pisciotta alleges that West “orally raped her without her consent” and had coerced her into sexual compliance with false promises of career advancement, according to the second addendum to a lawsuit filed in June 2024. The initial suit accused West of sexual harassment, breach of contract and wrongful termination; she also filed suit against West and some of his owned companies for fraud, unpaid wages and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Kanye West's former assistant has leveled even more serious allegations against the disgraced rapper. In a new legal filing, Lauren Pisciotta amended her original claims of wrongful termination and sexual harassment from 2024, now accusing the 48-year-old of sexual battery and sex trafficking, along with other disturbing behavior in their professional relationship. The primary incidents, she says, occurred while the pair were on a business trip to San Francisco as Ye was preparing to launch his Donda Academy and included unwanted sexual advances and coercion into adhering to West's sexual demands with the false promise of career advancement. Representatives for West have not responded to the new allegations at this time.

During the trip, specifically, Pisciotta, in her complaint, alleged that the rapper inappropriately asked her about her private parts and kissed her on the mouth without consent before the situation worsened in a writing session where she claimed West masturbated and inappropriately touched her.
