With less than a month to go until The Paper's four-episode series premiere, Peacock has dropped the official trailer for the highly anticipated spinoff, which will follow the "documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in The Office." After spending eight years documenting the employees of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company's Scranton branch, the crew's new subject will be a "historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it," according to the logline for the series. Following a panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Prime Video today revealed a first-look clip and the key art for the upcoming fourth and final season of Upload.

The exclusive clip premiered during the panel, which featured a discussion with series creator and executive producer Greg Daniels alongside series stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Kevin Bigley, and Allegra Edwards. The panel was moderated by The Office star Brian Baumgartner.

Peacock has revealed that the first four episodes of The Paper will premiere on Sept. 4, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through Sept. 25.This means the entire 10-episode season will be rolled out in less than a month. While the binge method (a.k.a. releasing the entire season at the same time) was once a popular release method for streaming originals, in recent years, streamers like HBO Max, Prime Video, and Disney+ have gone back to the tried and true one-episode per week release pattern, with some notable exceptions like multi-episode premieres or finales. With The Office a consistent streaming hit, the decision to burn through an entire season of its highly anticipated spinoff in just one month is somewhat unusual, although Peacock likely has a reason for doing so.

It's a little hard to believe that The Office spin-off is actually happening, especially because rumors of it have been going around for years. This time, however, the new series is giving all the signs that it has taken off by announcing main cast members and its basic premise. This week, however, The Office alumnus Oscar Nuñez provided an important update on The Paper, and it looks like the show is a lot closer to coming to our screens than we imagined.

The information was revealed during a participation on the Today show. Nuñez was invited along with several original cast members, including Brian Baumgartner (Kevin), Angela Kinsey (Angela), Creed Bratton (Creed), Kate Flannery (Meredith), Leslie David Baker (Stanley), and Ellie Kemper (Erin). The group was celebrating the series' 20th anniversary, and during the group interview Nuñez revealed that episodes are in the editing process, which might indicate that a trailer will pop up soon.

NBC isn't ready to close the door on Suits LA just yet. A second season of the Suits spinoff is reportedly still on the table despite the show's lower-than-expected ratings.

Deadline recently reported on the renewal status of NBC's current scripted lineup, which boasts 15 series, two of which (St. Denis Medical and Happy's Place) have only been renewed for next season. While Suits LA has been neither a hit with critics nor in the ratings, Deadline has heard that the network is still considering a second season of the spinoff, likely due to the Suits franchise being a high-profile IP for NBCUniversal.

While it had a devoted fanbase during its nine-season run on the USA Network in the 2010s, Suits became massively popular when it was added to Netflix in 2023, becoming the platform's most-streamed show of the year. This renewed interest in the IP led to NBC ordering the Los Angeles-set spinoff.

The first season of the spinoff show, Suits LA, is gradually inching towards the finish line. While the show might have struggled with ratings so far, it does feel good to be back in the world of Suits, with well-dressed and exceptionally brilliant lawyers. While the original series had Sarah Rafferty playing Donna Paulsen, secretary and confidante to Gabriel Macht's all-conquering New York lawyer, Harvey Specter. Episode 3, titled “He Knew,” follows as Erica (Lex Scott Davis) helps “The Office” star Brian Baumgartner — a client of the firm — with his desire to seek advice on pivoting his acting career from comedy into serious dramatic roles. At the start of the episode he demands the firm set him up with a meeting with Tom Hanks, but both Erica and her assistant Leah (Alice Lee) know they could never make that happen.

Instead, Leah sets up a meeting between the actor behind Kevin Malone and Patton Oswalt, who also plays himself and comes with sage advice for the veteran comedian. The enounter was equal parts earnest and hilarious, as the two actors bickered about their standing in the entertainment business.

Episode 3 of Suits LA, titled "He Knew," doesn't make the show look like a typical law drama. The characters haven't been in a courtroom since the first episode, and Episode 3 mostly focuses on creating emotional moments. It's a strategy that feels wrong at first, but pays off by the end of the episode.

Rick Dodson (Bryan Greenberg) doesn't play a big role in this week's episode, mainly just receiving his office as the new Head of Entertainment. The episode also gives a bigger part to Ted's secretary, Roslyn (Azita Ghanizada). Roslyn did appear in the first episode, but it was in such a small capacity that her presence in Episode 3 is jolting. The episode also has two celebrity cameos, Patton Oswalt and Brian Baumgartner.
