Grimsburg: Season Two Ratings + Viewer Votes
Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Dan Castellaneta, and Yeardley Smith in The Simpsons (1989)
Now that Disney owns The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and Family Guy, Fox has been working hard to establish their own animated comedy series. Grimsburg was the network's lowest-rated scripted series in the demo last season, but Fox had already ordered a second season. Will the ratings improve this time around? Will Grimsburg be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.

An animated comedy series, the Grimsburg TV show stars Jon Hamm, Erinn Hayes, Rachel Dratch, Alan Turdyk, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Greg Chun. The story revolves around brilliant, eccentric (and burned out) Detective Marvin Flute (Hamm). He may be the greatest sleuth ever to catch a cannibal clown or correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire, but there's one mystery he still can't crack -- himself. To do that, he must return to his hometown of Grimsburg after...

One-Punch Man Breaks Guinness World Record At Anime Expo 2025
Image
The One-Punch Man franchise made history at Anime Expo 2025 by breaking the Guinness World Record for “the most people performing a ‘One-Punch Man’ Maji Naguri/Serious Punch.”

A total of 1,107 fans participated in the synchronized punch during a special panel held at the event on July 5, 2025.

This took place during the One-Punch Man‘s panel, which featured appearances by cast and staff from both the Japanese and English versions of the anime.

Among the guests were Makoto Furukawa, the Japanese voice of Saitama; Max Mittelman, the English voice of Saitama; Greg Chun, the English voice of Garou; manga editor Toshihiro Oshima; and anime producer Chinatsu Matsui.

‘One-Punch Man’ Season 3 Confirms Cast, but One Star's Return Is Stirring Controversy
Image
Viz Media has officially acquired One Punch Man, as Season 3 is just a few months away at this point. It's been some time since we last laid eyes on Saitama, with the second season premiering way back in 2019. While the return was not certain previously, it's set in stone now with Season 3 of One Punch Man arriving later this year. Ahead of Anime Expo this week, Viz Media offered an exciting update for the coming season as the English dub voice cast for the upcoming third season was revealed. The negativity with which the second season was greeted means that Season 3 has triggered both fears and hype in equal measure.

Much of the team that voiced the characters in Season 2 are set to reprise their roles, but a voice actor who has been in the news quite a bit recently because of some controversy is joining the team. Taking to their official X account,...

‘Squid Game’ English Dub Actors on Voicing Emotional Finale Scenes: ‘I Just Want to Jump Out of My Body and Be This Character!’ (Exclusive)
Image
Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Squid Game,” now streaming on Netflix.

Think of Netflix’s Korean dystopian thriller series “Squid Game,” and images of the pink-uniformed guards, Front Man’s black mask, the over-sized motion-sensing doll and now-famous actors like Lee Jung-jae first come to mind. But another vital and familiar element viewers may not even be aware of are the actors who voice the characters we’ve grown to love, root for, and, at times, despise over the last three seasons.

Meet Greg Chun and Tom Choi, who may not be household names or faces, but they are the actors responsible for bringing to life “Squid Game’s” two primary characters. Chun has provided the English dub for antagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who won Season 1’s game only to return in Season 2 with the hope of destroying it, while Choi is the...

At Last, One-Punch Man Is About to Drop a First Look at Season 3, And Fans Have Good Reason to Worry
Image
One-Punch Man season 3 is on the way, and fans will get their first look soon, at Anime Expo 2025. With new details revealed about the panel, there's a lot to look forward to, yet many fans are still quite worried about the upcoming season 3 trailer.

One-Punch Man season 3 is being produced by J.C. Staff, the studio which was responsible for the second season as well. Season 2 was considered to be rather lackluster by fans, who complained that the level of detail and quality of animation were far inferior to the first season, which was animated by Madhouse. Fans disappointed by season 2 were very concerned to hear J.C. Staff would be involved in season 3 as well, and so far the previews and teasers have done little to assuage fans' fears of low-quality animation. With the trailer reveal imminent, fans may find out soon whether their fears are founded.

Fox Doubles Down on Animation With 3 More Major TV Series Renewals
Image
Fox will be the place to go for animated comedies on broadcast television. After recently giving several animated shows big renewals, three more have been confirmed.

Per Deadline, Fox has just renewed the following animated shows: Krapopolis, Grimsburg, and Universal Basic Guys. The news follows the network recently giving four-season renewals of the long-running animated shows The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and American Dad!. In the case of American Dad!, the series also is making its return to Fox after making the move from TBS, though it originally aired its first nine seasons on Fox.

Krapopolis is currently in its second season, which is concluding this month. The show, created by Dan Harmon, imagines a more zany version of ancient Greek lore where humans interact with gods and mythical creatures. It had previously been renewed through Season 4, and the new renewal by Fox will guarantee a fifth season of the show.

Fox Renews ‘Universal Basic Guys,’ ‘Grimsburg’ and ‘Krapopolis’
Image
Fox has greenlit more seasons of three of its adult animated series: “Universal Basic Guys,” “Grimsburg,” and “Krapopolis.”

“Grimsburg” and “Universal Basic Guys” are both returning for Season 3, while “Krapopolis” has been renewed for Season 5.

“Krapopolis,” which has received a Season 5 order ahead of Season 3, “is set in mythical ancient Greece and tells the story of a dysfunctional family of humans, gods and monsters trying to run one of the world’s first cities, while also trying their best to not kill each other in the process. The series centers on Deliria (Hannah Waddingham), goddess of self-destruction and questionable choices. As petty as she is powerful, Deliria is only interested in defending civilization if it means she’ll get more worshipers out of it than her frenemies up on Mt. Olympus,” according to the official description.

Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy and Duncan Trussell also star.

The show was created by Dan Harmon,...

Star Wars: Visions remembered: The Ninth Jedi
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

The Ninth Jedi is actually incredibly hard for me to write about. Brought to us by Production Ig aka Studio I.G., the reason this was the hardest one for me to tackle is the fact that The Ninth Jedi is so good. It’s the most solid entry from Star Wars: Visions. There’s a reason why it’s universally thought to be the best of the group or at least in people’s top rankings. When things are this good, it’s hard to point out just one or two things that make it stand out. I could probably write a full-length essay on this episode. I’ll do my best to keep this somewhat short.

I think...

The Top 10 Most Unlikable Evangelion Characters, Ranked
Image
Hideaki Anno's Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered one of anime's most influential franchises, and its impact on the mecha genre and the medium as a whole can be felt to this day despite the series premiering in 1995. Shinji Ikari's devastating experience as a mech pilot in a ruthless war against alien monsters known as Angels is commonly praised for its deconstruction of genre tropes, experimental yet captivating storytelling, and, first and foremost, incredibly complex characters.

The heroes of Nge are imperfect, multifaceted people, each playing a uniquely difficult part in saving the world and themselves from doom. However, for how much some adore the Nge cast, many others find the characters' extremely flawed personalities annoying or unlikeable. Neon Genesis Evangelion characters like Rei Ayanami and Gendo Ikari have polarizing personalities and are disliked by the fandom for valid reasons.

‘Grimsburg’ Review: Jon Hamm Leads Fox’s Amusing but Derivative Animated Detective Comedy
Image
Three episodes into Fox’s animated comedy Grimsburg, I found myself reflecting on how quintessentially Will Arnett this latest Will Arnett role was. A self-loathing, alcohol-abusing detective trying and failing to get back into his family’s good graces, Marvin Flute is an amalgamation of some of the actor’s biggest roles: a little bit Bojack Horseman, a little bit Lego Batman, a little bit Terry Seattle from Murderville.

But Flute isn’t actually played by Will Arnett. He’s played by Jon Hamm, for some reason doing an overt imitation of Will Arnett. I’d known it was Jon Hamm, even, and I just forgot because that’s how well Hamm nails Arnett’s voice — the gravel texture, the snappy cadence, the whining edge. As a creative choice, it’s somehow at once low-key bizarre and disappointingly predictable. Which, come to think of it, could also describe Grimsburg in a nutshell.

Jon Hamm’s animated series Grimsburg gets January premiere
Jon Hamm
With such a distinct, soothing tone, it’s no wonder Jon Hamm has gotten so much voice work. Now, he’s set to get his own starring role in an animated series called Grimsburg, playing a detective who juggles the struggles of his job and his home life.

In Grimsburg, Jon Hamm plays Martin Flute (looking very much like Hopper from Stranger Things), “maybe the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown and correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. But there’s one mystery he still can’t crack — himself. To do that he must return to Grimsburg, a town where everyone has a secret or three, and redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow detectives, his ferocious ex-wife and his lovably unstable son.”

Grimsburg is set to premiere during a strong slot, following a doubleheader of NFL games on Fox on January 7th. The supporting cast of...

Fox will utilize its NFL doubleheader on Sunday, January 7, to help launch the network’s latest animated comedy, “Grimsburg.” The show, starring Jon Hamm (who also executive produces), will air immediately following the second game in all time zones.

The scheduling strategy was set to be announced on Saturday at the New York Comic-Con, where Fox is holding panels for both “Grimsburg” and its most recent new animated comedy, the Dan Harmon-created “Krapopolis.” At the event, “Grimsburg” showrunner Chadd Gindin planned to discuss his new series and introduce an early screening of the show’s first episode.

Both “Grimsburg” and “Krapopolis” are produced by Bento Box and are wholly owned by Fox. “Grimsburg” has already been given a Season 2 renewal (while “Krapopolis” was picked up for three seasons so far).

Fire Emblem Engage Cast: Every Character and Voice Actor
Image
Fire Emblem fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the recently-released Fire Emblem Engage. Not only is it the latest entry into the famous strategy franchise, but it’s really a return to form for Fire Emblem after the series experimented with a few different ideas. It also features a massive roster of characters voiced by some pretty notable actors.

Seriously, Engage’s voice cast is impressive. It’s one thing to boast a roster of named and notable characters quite so large, and it’s quite another to give most of those characters their own name and voice. While you may only recognize the names of a few Fire Emblem voice actors on paper, you’ll almost certainly recognize many of them the moment you hear them in-game.

So whether you can’t quite place why that name is so familiar, or you just want a little...

‘Squid Game’ Triggers Feeding Frenzy As Hollywood Agencies Chase Creator & Stars Of Netflix Mega Hit
Image
The phenomenal success of Netflix’s Squid Game came seemingly out of nowhere, catapulting its writer-director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, and cast to global stardom and making them the hottest commodity in Hollywood. That has created a stampede among the major agencies to sign Hwang and the actors, the vast majority of whom have no Hollywood representation.

That includes Hwang who recently met with the heads of the major talent agencies, CAA (soon-to-be-merged with ICM), WME and UTA, sources said. He is said to still be mulling who to sign with. The cast, led by Lee Jung-jae, Jung HoYeon and Park Hae-soo, also have been taking agency/management meetings this week, sources said.

Hwang and the actors are all in town; they flew in for the big press junket Netflix held for the show on Monday following its breakout success.

Signing the show’s creator and stars would be very lucrative as...

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020)
How Camp Cretaceous Connects to the Jurassic World Canon
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020)
The following contains spoilers for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

At first glance, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous doesn’t seem to fit in with the violent PG-13 dinosaur rampage thrillers we’ve come to expect from the Jurassic Park franchise. Its comical and lighthearted approach to storytelling and character development, not to mention the fact that it is (rather beautifully) animated, makes it seem as though this was meant to be a spinoff franchise similar to Lego Jurassic World. But as the story of six teenagers beta testing Jurassic World’s new adventure camp attraction unfolds, it becomes clear that Camp Cretaceous is not only canon, but could introduce elements that may influence future plotlines.

Camp Cretaceous begins a few days before the events of Jurassic World, but even before the Indominus rex escapes and the timelines officially converge, there are tons of references to the movies. (I love that Mr.

DC Animation Is Developing Superman: Red Son Film and There Are Casting Details
We recently learned that the classic DC comic Batman: The Long Halloween is going to be getting a two-part animated film from Warner Bros. Animation. Well, now another classic DC comic story is reportedly in development.

According to Revenge of the Fans, DC is developing an animated adaptation of Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son. This is another DC Comics story that fans have been wanting to see adapted for a long time. I’m not sure why it took so long, but at least it’s happening now!

For those of you unfamiliar with Red Son, it’s an Elseworld story that puts an interesting twist on the Superman mythology… what if Superman crash-landed in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas?

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Imagine a reality where the world’s most powerful super-being does not grow up in Smallville, Kansas – or even America, for that matter…...
