The Television Academy revealed the nominations for the 77th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, recognizing 111 nominees across 31 categories that spotlight the best in locally produced television, from arts and culture to crime, environment and public affairs.

The awards will be presented Saturday, July 26, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be hosted by Kelvin Washington, anchor and host for Spectrum News 1.

The Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in programming produced for the Los Angeles region.

Among this year’s nominees are several standout programs from PBS SoCal, Kmex-tv, KTLA5, Kvea, ABC7, and others that highlight Southern California’s diverse storytelling and journalism.

Mexico City, Feb 23 (Ians) Cruz Azul have appointed Ricardo Ferretti as manager for the rest of the Liga Mx Clausura season, the Mexico City club said.

The 69-year-old Brazilian replaces Raul Gutierrez, who parted ways with the club earlier this month following a poor run of results, reports Xinhua news agency.

“We know that you will give it your all. Welcome, Tuca,” Cruz Azul said in a brief statement published on social media.

Ferretti, whose coaching career spans more than 30 years and includes three interim spells as Mexico national team boss, has been out of work since parting ways with Juarez in May last year.

Cruz Azul are currently 16th in the 18-team Liga Mx Clausura standings with just one victory from six outings.

Kcet picked up eight wins tonight at the Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, including awards for local color, culture and sports programming. Kmex followed with five wins.

Kvea’s wins included best news series and live coverage of an unscheduled news event. ABC7 took the honors for best evening newscast. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the awards were presented without audience in front of the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood and livestreamed on YouTube.
