HBO Max is picking up more than a dozen fan-favorite shows thanks to a new agreement with BritBox. Thanks to the deal, fans can enjoy a selection of British entertainment for a limited time.
Per Variety, HBO Max in the U.S. will include 15 BritBox titles at no additional cost to subscribers from Aug. 1 until Sept. 29. The shows will be made accessible via a dedicated in-app section rail called "The Best of British TV by BritBox." The most notable series featured in the lineup are The Office, starring Ricky Gervais, and the first two seasons of the hit crime thriller, Luther, starring Idris Elba.
Like previous deals with fellow streaming services such as AMC+, HBO Max's new deal with BritBox is aimed at getting audiences interested enough to sign up for another streaming service, all while providing HBO's own platform with an influx of viewership hours and the potential for new licensing agreements.

Disney+ may have made a huge mistake shelving Nautilus. The 10-part reimagining of Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas recently premiered on AMC to major viewership success.
According to Deadline, the premiere episode of Nautilus, "Anahata," attracted 2.6 million viewers on linear alone, per Nielsen live+3 data. This makes it AMC's biggest premiere night audience since The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which premiered just over one year ago on Feb. 25, 2024. Nautilus' impressive viewership results come a week after FlixPatrol reported on how the series had also found success on AMC+, beating out hits like The Walking Dead: Dead City and Hell Motel on the streaming chart.
Created by James Dormer, Nautilus follows Shazad Latif as Captain Nemo, an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, who has become a prisoner of the East India Mercantile Company. Bent on revenge against the forces that have taken everything from him,...

To say that there have been a lot of adaptations of Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea would be an understatement. Since 1907, there have been countless movies, TV shows, and animated productions that have all put their own spin on the classic novel. Now, a British adaptation has taken the streaming charts by storm, nabbing the top spot on AMC+. Titled Nautilus, the ten-part series began airing on June 29, and if you're a fan of action adventure dramas, this is one that should be on your radar.
Starring Shazad Latif as Captain Nemo, Nautilus presents fans with an origin story about everyone's favorite Indian prince-turned-crusading scientist. Unlike Verne's novel, which gives very little away in terms of Nemo's backstory, here we see him as a Colonial prisoner in 1866 who helps build the titular ship. After a planned uprising, he takes control of the Nautilus and...

Nautilus is not a textbook adaptation of the Jules Verne classic that it refers to—it is rather a reimagining with fantasy elements filling its ten-episode story arc, with characters that are written ever so realistically according to the time period that it is representing. The story takes place around 1857, starting at Kalpani and ending at the end of the world, beyond the Arctic. With Captain Nemo, an Indian prince who is seeking justice for the murder of his wife and daughter at the hands of the British, the Nautilus has a crew full of characters from all over the globe. While the crew band together for justice, planning an uprising, the colonizers chase them with the Dreadnought. While the series revolves around Nemo’s quest, the shared goal of justice gives all his crew a shared arc, making the win quite democratic! With fantastical creatures and even more textured characters,...

It’s pretty clear that not everyone really wanted to be part of Nemo’s escape. That leads to some of them attempting to leave the submarine in Nautilus season 1, episode 2.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers for Nautilus season 1, episode 2.
The episode of Nautilus picks up off the back of the first episode. The ship is sinking, and the power is completely out. Humility has an idea, and Nemo even listens to it. They need to pump air into the engine to get it working again, but it doesn’t work. The further they sink, the more oxygen they lose, and it looks like this planned escape is going to fail.
Well, that is until Loti and others hear hissing. Air is escaping from one of the pipes. As they seal that, they can finally get air into the engine, and that gets the submarine back to the surface. Now...

Berlin, Aug 27 (Ians) Bayer Leverkusen snatched its second straight win in Germany’s top-flight after easing 3-0 past uninspired Borussia Monchengladbach thanks to the brace from new arrival Victor Boniface.
The “Werkself” took the reins from the starting whistle and didn’t need long to create the first clear-cut opportunity as Boniface’s shot from a promising position got blocked in the ninth minute, reports Xinhua.
Boniface posed a lot of threat and broke the deadlock in the 18th minute after nodding home Alejandro Grimaldo’s lay-up from very close range.
The hosts couldn’t keep Leverkusen at bay as Xabi Alonso’s men doubled their advantage before halftime through Jonathan Tah, who volleyed home following Jonas Hofmann’s good build-up work.
The “Foals” came out with their guns blazing after the restart but neither Marvin Friedrich nor Tomas Cvancara reduced the arrears.
