Carrie Cohen(I)
- Actress
Carrie Cohen is a versatile character actress who enjoys a variety of challenges both on screen and on stage, equally comfortable in comic and serious roles. In 2025 she filmed her second guest role in BBC2's comedy series "Mandy" with Diane Morgan. Previously she played Monica Dolan's mother in the television drama series "The Thief, His Wife And The Canoe". She played Rose, the lead role in the award winning short film "Skeletons" and enjoyed being blood-splattered in Richard Hunter's Straight 8 winning film "Something Gruesome."
Favourite roles include a drunken, posh socialite in "Prawn" and, contrastingly, as a cleaning woman (with rollers in her hair) in "The Strange Case Of Mr Inanis". She also enjoyed playing the cannibalistic Mrs Obadia in "Gnaw" with the joyous line: "Nice to have your friends for dinner.", being a zombie in "The S State" where she screamed: "Give me the baby, I could do with a toothpick!" and In "Just Saying" she relished the challenge of playing the lead, dramatic role of a confused widow at her husband's wake.
In addition to film and television work, Carrie has played lead roles in many London's fringe theatres, narrates short stories and especially enjoys script readings; she is considered to be an expert sight-reader.
Carrie lives in Central London.
