Singer Jessica Simpson left her fans befuddled after she posted a birthday tribute to her mother, Tina Simpson, on Instagram.

On January 18, Jessica, who recently disclosed that she and former NFL player Eric Johnson have separated, posted a glam shot of both her and Tina hugging each other.

According to People, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's parents' divorce has been finalized after Tina filed court documents in September 2012. The 53-year-old cited "discord or conflict of personalities" for the split.

Joe -- sometimes referred to as "Papa Joe" -- and Tina tied the knot in Texas in 1978.

After the couple called it quits, rumors started spreading that Joe, 55, had come out as gay to his family. Still, a rep for the Simpsons said, "It's an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false."
