‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Returns to Its Roots With New Season 5 Broadcast Release
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime has some unexpected news. While NBC has not renewed the series for a sixth season, Deadline reports the network has instead decided to put its fifth season, which just wrapped airing earlier this year, on its original 10 Pm time slot behind Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on September 25. The Christopher Meloni-led spin-off moved exclusively to Peacock last year for the fifth season, Deadline reports the reair on NBC will likely help the network decide its fate. The series charted in Peacock’s Top 10, peaking at number 2 over the course of its fifth season run.

What Happened in 'Law& Order: Organized Crime' Season 5?

The fifth season of Law & Order: Organized Crime began with Elliot Stabler at a crossroads of priorities. Last season, Elliot found out that his son, Eli (Nicky Torchia), had gotten his girlfriend Becky pregnant,...

Law & Order: Organized Crime’s Worst Sin is Ditching Bell For A Third Of Its Shortened Season
Image
Bell’s return in the season finale was too little, too late.

She started out the season strong, as always, standing up to an FBI agent who thought he could take over because he was a white male dealing with a Black woman.

However, the fact that the series sidelined her for three out of ten episodes after that is Law & Order: Organized Crime‘s worst sin.

(Virginia Sherwood/Peacock) Danielle Moné Truitt’s Ayanna Bell Used to Be a Complex, Interesting Character

In previous seasons, especially Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 1, Bell was a unique, dynamic character who had both personal and professional goals.

She was a tough leader, partially because she had to be — she was one of the few Black lesbians to be in a supervisory position in the NYPD, and she knew there were some people who would use any excuse to take that...

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Finale: Did Stabler Get Emery — and Revenge for His Brother’s Death?
Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 finale, “He Was a Stabler.”] How far will Stabler (Christopher Meloni) go after Julian Emery (Tom Payne) killed his brother, Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter)? Well, early on in the Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 finale, he seems very serious about setting Emery’s muscle, Vincent (Paul Gorvin), on fire to get the crime boss’ location. Stabler is out ostensibly on bereavement leave — he must really be hurting, Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) and Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) agree — when really, he and McKenna (Jason Patric) are holding Vincent in an abandoned building. “You have no idea the lengths I’m going to go to to get what I want,” Stabler warns, covering Vincent with lighter fluid and lighting a match. “You’re in a very bad situation, but so am I. I don’t want to be here. You brought me here. You and Emery. You made ...

“Provocative Storytelling”: Christopher Meloni Reveals His Hopes for ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 6
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime wraps its fifth season tomorrow. It's the first season to stream exclusively on Peacock after the announcement that the series was renewed but moving from NBC to the streamer last year. Now, after 10 episodes, fans will find out just how far Christopher Meloni's Detective Elliot Stabler is willing to go. In an interview with TV Insider ahead of being honored at the North Fork TV Festival, Meloni was asked about the potential Season 6 and how the finale could set up the future of the show and says "that’s a question that is unanswerable simply because I don’t think anybody including Peacock knows exactly what they’re going to do just yet." As for his personal hopes he says:

"I hope it’s something that pushes the boundaries, provocative storytelling in this crime-family drama. I hope all the actors that surround me have...

Stabler Is Losing Control in New ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 5 Sneak Peek
Image
Three episodes remain of the latest season of Law & Order: Organized Crime. Thursday's episode "Beautiful Disaster" will see Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) lending a helping hand to the Counter Terrorism bureau. In a new sneak peek released, there is a huge complication in Elliot's ability to do his job. Elliot wakes up (clearly not rested) and as he makes his way into the kitchen, he begins to listen to his voicemails and there's one from Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) and one from Elliot's brother, Randall (Dean Norris).

With Bell assuring him that the case with the Camorra seems to be wrapping up and Randall not so gently reminding him about his upcoming therapy appointment, it paves the way for Elliot to heed Bell's advice in the sneak peek to take it easy. And then his hands start shaking. Just as he begins to pour coffee from the carafe,...

Reyes Heads Undercover in New 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' Season 5 Sneak Peek [Exclusive]
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 continues this week as the crew of the Organized Crime Control Bureau tries to suss out who is behind the newest operation. Where things left off in Episode 3, "Paranza dei Bambini," Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) was meeting up with his son, Eli (Nick Torchia), and Eli's pregnant girlfriend, Becky (Kiaya Scott), were all shot at by assailants on a motorbike with an automatic weapon. Now, in "Promesse Infrante," premiering tomorrow exclusively on Peacock, we're seeing the aftermath of that and another Occb team member heading undercover.

Collider is thrilled to exclusively reveal a new sneak peek from the episode. In the sneak peek, Detective Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez), Professor Kyle Vargas (Tate Ellington), and Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) are all crowded around the computer trying to figure out any clues that may lead them to the identity of the bikers that...

Law & Order: Organized Crime Loses Original Cast Member Early Into Season 5
Image
Episode 3 of Law & Order: Organized Crimebids farewell to one of its original cast members.

Per NBC, the latest episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5, Episode 3, "Paranza Dei Bambini," saw the departure of Detective Jet Slootmaekers, played by Ainsley Seiger. Seiger has portrayed Slootmaekers on the spinoff since it premiered in 2021. Season 5 of the crime drama premiered with a bang on April 17th with Episode 1, "Lost Highway" and Episode 2 "Dante's Inferno."

After a particularly traumatic undercover mission in the previous episode, where Slootmaeker was attacked while infiltrating an underground trucker meetup, it was revealed in the subsequent episode that she would be leaving the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Detective Bobby Reyes, played by Rick Gonzalez, would reveal to Stabler (Christopher Meloni) in episode 3 why Jet hasn't turned up to work for a while. He told him, "We broke up a few weeks ago. We haven't talked. This trucker serial case really messed her up.

That’s the lesson that FBI Agent Bruce Sheppard (played by Ozark‘s McKinley Belcher III) is on track to learn as the drama continues its Season 5 run (new episodes drop Thursdays on Peacock). Viewers will remember that Sheppard showed up in the season premiere, when his investigation of a deadly biker gang intersected with the Organized Crime Control Bureau’s pursuit of a dirty trucking company. Law & Order: Organized Crime lost an Og character after its Peacock premiere (here's why)
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime is no longer on NBC. The procedural spinoff may have aired its season 5 premiere on its original network, but the rest of the season is being streamed exclusively on NBC's streaming platform, Peacock. It didn't seem as though there would be any major changes to the cast once this transition occurred, but we were wrong.

Organized Crime has parted ways with one of its original characters only three episodes into its new life on Peacock. The character in question? Detective Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger). She's been part of the Oc team since the pilot, but she decided to move on following her harrowing experiences in the second episode of season 5, "Dante's Inferno." Slootmaekers worked with Stabler (Christopher Meloni) to bring down a trucker who was torturing and killing young girls.

'Law & Order: Organized Crime' Just Lost a Major Character
Image
Author's Note: The following article contains spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5, Episode 3 "Paranza dei Bambini"

This hurts to see so early on in the season. Law & Order: Organized Crime just lost a regular cast member at the end of the latest episode, "Paranza dei Bambini." NBC confirms that Ainsley Seiger, who has spent the last five seasons playing Detective Jet Slootmaekers, exited the series at the end of episode three. The computer whiz detective took a leave of absence after the events of Season 5, Episode 2 "Dante's Inferno" where she's roughed up by a suspect on an undercover operation with Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni). In Episode 3, it's revealed that she was offered a job by the FBI but turned it down. When she's checked in on by Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), she's encouraged to take another look at the FBI's offer. This eventually leads to Jet's departure.

Law and Order: Organized Crime season 5 is a shorter season, and this could be why
Image
With the new season of Law and Order: Organized Crime, there's a couple of big changes that have come with it. Of course the main one is the fact that the police procedural has moved away from its broadcast slot on NBC and moved on over to the network's streaming service, Peacock. So now, the only spot to watch new episodes is online.

Another major change with Organized Crime season 5 is the fact that the episode count is much lower than previous installments. The season has been cut down to just 10 episodes. With this happening, you might be wondering why. NBC hasn't given an exact reason for this shift, but it's most likely due to the fact that the show has been moved to streaming.

In comparison, the shortest season ever was season 1 that only had 8 episodes. Then that number increased to 22 for seasons 2 and 3. The fourth season comes in at 13 episodes,...

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: [Spoiler] Leaves in Season 5
Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Episode 3 “Paranza Dei Bambini.”] The good news? While the Occb does say goodbye to one of its own in the Thursday, April 24, episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime, at least the character is still alive. The fallout of the Organized Crime Control Bureau’s serial killer trucker case leads to Jet (Ainsley Seiger) making a big decision about her future. After Jet went undercover during the team’s case involving multiple murders by truckers and was nearly strangled to death, she needed to take some time. When Episode 3 begins, she’s told Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) that she needs a few more days. Stabler (Christopher Meloni) then asks Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) where she is, and the other detective shares they broke up a few weeks ago and haven’t talked. How to watch Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 (because its pretty confusing)
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime is back. The procedural spinoff will be airing its season 5 premiere on NBC alongside the other Law & Order titles. It makes sense, and seems pretty straightforward, but it is actually a bit more perplexing than you might think. Here's what you need to know about the show's viewing options.

Organized Crime's season 5 premiere will air after Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu on Thursday, April 17. It will bring up the rear in NBC's lineup, but it will not continue the story that will take place in the previous two episodes. Law & Order and Svu will be staging a crossover event with a continuing storyline, and while Organized Crime keeps things going at 10 Pm Et, it will be a standalone episode.

Law and Order: Organized Crime makes its Peacock debut, and it's better than ever
Image
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 episodes 1 and 2.

Law & Order: Organized Crime has moved to its new home on Peacock, and if the opening episodes are something to judge, this series is going to be its best yet!

Law & Order: Organized Crime has always been different from other shows in the franchise. The focus on Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler working for a special Organized Crime Task Force doesn't do the typical "one and done" episode stories. It goes for long-range storylines over several episodes with story arcs of Stabler and his unit clashing with various crime organizations.

Season 5 wastes no time throwing us into things as Stabler is at home when he gets a call from Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) on how the feds need him to go undercover as an ex-con turned trucker. Stabler soon works for a trucking company used by...

Season 5 finds Meloni’s character Elliot Stabler going undercover with a trio of trucking brothers who are also trafficking women on the side.

Meloni wrote the tense two-parter: It’s the first time the actor, who also executive produces the spinoff, has written for the show. And since the series is now on streaming, expect to see more action and the occasional swear word. Here’s when and where you can watch new episodes.

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Review — Modernized and Electrified
Image
Having been a fan of the original Law & Order, watching reruns in college on lazy weekday afternoons, I’ve come to expect a certain built-in nostalgia. So imagine my utter shock when the show took the classic intro and tried to modernize it, as disastrously as Madonna’s attempt to “revitalize” Don McLean’s “American Pie.”

Dun Dun.

However, I quickly let my anger fade as Law & Order: Organized Crime settled into what has always made the franchise successful: compelling characters, a likable cast, social commentary, and those ripped-from-the-headlines storylines that keep the series relevant.

RelatedScream Factory: Orphan Review Peacock’s Law & Order: Organized Crime Review and Synopsis

The exception here is spinoff, which follows a more ’90s approach reminiscent of the critically acclaimed—but less widely watched—Homicide: Life on the Street. The characters and storylines are less stoic, even more personal, and the emotional stakes resonate.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: Dean Norris Says ‘Changeover Is Significant’ With Move to Peacock
Image
Don’t ever let it be said that crime doesn’t pay. That’s the lesson in the long-awaited reappearance of this fan-fave series. More than a year after NBC transferred the show to Peacock, Law & Order: Organized Crime has returned with some true grit. “The changeover is significant,” says Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), now a series regular as Randall Stabler, the older, long-estranged brother of the Organized Crime Control Bureau’s Det. Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni). “It allows the show to explore darker elements,” he adds. “We’ll quickly notice the difference in tone and language.” (The first two of 10 episodes stream April 17; the remaining eight drop weekly after that.) Happily, Occb’s roster remains intact as Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), tech expert Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger), and Det. Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) are back. Law & Order: Organized Crime could actually be a better show on Peacock (here's how)
Image
Law & Order: Organized Crime has become the odd man out at NBC. The Law & Order spinoff has been an ideal vehicle for veteran character Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), but the diminishing ratings led the network to move it to its streaming service, Peacock.

It's sad in so much as Organized Crime's release outlet will change the Law & Order block that NBC has run out for the past several years on Thursday nights. Barring the season 5 premiere of Oc, this primetime block will feature only two Law & Order shows. But this may actually prove to be a good thing when it comes to the creative direction of the Stabler-led spinoff.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Season 5: Release Date, Cast, Plot, and All You Need to Know
Image
The new season of Law & Order: Organized Crime is right around the corner, and the anticipation is starting to boil over. Fans are eager to see what is next for Detective Elliot Stabler and his team to fight over the powerful crime syndicate spinoff that has made it stand out in the Law & Order universe. Meanwhile, Organized Crime follows a different pattern from the original.

It has completely ditched the part where the first half of the show focuses on the policing side, collecting evidence, investigating witnesses, and bringing in the culprit. The second section involves the prosecution side of the procedure, which means courtroom sessions, studying the case, and finally sending out a verdict that decides the fate of the accused. This was a popular format Law & Order followed since it had viewers hooked.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Teases a Stabler-Benson Reunion
Image
The trailer for season five of Law & Order: Organized Crime shows Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) in the hospital after his car is broadsided. A new teaser for the show reveals one of his visitors as he recuperates: Olivia Benson.

Peacock released a 30-second spot Wednesday showing some of the same shots from the trailer, capped by a quick cut to a blank screen and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) saying “Elliot,” before she’s shown sitting at his bedside. Watch the teaser below.

Hargitay’s appearance on Organized Crime — her 14th crossover from Law & Order: Svu — will come in the second episode of season five, which will stream April 17 on Peacock. Why isn't Organized Crime part of Law & Order's upcoming crossover event?
Image
Law & Order is gearing up for a major crossover event. The flagship show will join forces with Law & Order: Svu for a two-part special on Thursday, April 17. These two episodes will then be followed by a new episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime. Given the franchise's knack for melding characters from different shows, and the scheduling of three Law & Order titles in a row, fans are understandably confused as to why Organized Crime will not be part of the crossover.

It would make sense, on paper, to have all three shows connect for a storyline the same way NBC recently did with One Chicago. The more the merrier, and given that all of the Dick Wolf shows that have staged crossovers stem from Law & Order, it only seems right that the franchise follows suit.

Organized Crime will stop airing on NBC after April 17 Law & Order:...

It’s going to be a ‘Law & Order’ world out there come April. Judging from the little we know so far, there are a bunch of criminals committing heinous crimes, and Captain Olivia Benson (portrayed by Mariska Hargitay) would first call for reinforcements than let them hurt one more victim.

Per NBC, the whole crossover event kicks off with Benson receiving a mysterious phone call that leads her to the scene of a murder.

Together, Svu and the 2-7 will “uncover a pattern of rape and murder targeting marginalized women,” the description reads, continuing to...

Law & Order: Organized Crime promo has us worried about Stabler's fate
Image
We all know how it works. Certain TV characters have plot armor. They are so crucial to the structure of a given series that killing them off would alienate pretty much everybody who tunes in. This is the case with Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni). He's one of the most beloved characters in Law & Order history, and as such, he has more protection than his peers.

That doesn't mean we're not concerned, though. Stabler is on thin ice heading into season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime, and the trailer makes it clear that he's going to be put through the ringer. He is more plugged in to his family than ever, and as such, he's more vulnerable. The promo literally sees the perpetually grumpy Stabler laid up in the hospital after a near death experience.
