Seether frontman Shaun Morgan became enraged at a venue staff member or security guard for kicking his 7-year-old daughter off the side of the stage during the band’s concert at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Catoosa, Oklahoma, on Thursday (May 29th). The singer even changed the lyrics to the band’s hit “Remedy” to reflect his anger at the situation.

As transcribed by ThePRP, Morgan told the crowd, “Hey, sorry, that took a little while. I had my fucking kid on the side of the stage the whole entire show, and then suddenly this fucking asshole kicks her the fuck off the stage.”

Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed that he used his late father Eddie Van Halen‘s iconic Frankenstein guitar, aka the Frankenstrat, to record parts on his new Mammoth song “The End.”

The intro to Wolfgang’s one-off single sounds eerily reminiscent to Eddie’s guitar tapping — one of his signature techniques — as heard on Van Halen hits like “Hot for Teacher.” Not only does Wolfgang emulate that tapping perfectly, but he even used Eddie’s legendary red-and-white striped axe to evoke his father’s tone and sound.

“Fun fact, I recorded the main tapping of the song, and the slap part with the Frankenstein!” shared Wolfgang on X/Twitter, along with a video of him performing the slap part. “Makes me feel closer to Pop that such an important part of his history can live with mine every time I record.”

Seether have announced their ninth studio album, The Surface Seems So Far, arriving September 20th. The lead single “Judas Mind” can be streamed now.

The news comes just a day after Seether announced a co-headlining US tour with Skillet (get tickets here). The trek is set to kick off just prior to the release of the new album on September 17th in Asheville, North Carolina. In addition, Seether are also set to make festival appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

The first tease of the LP, “Judas Mind,” is a surging post-grunge track that juxtaposes muted, melodic verses with raging choruses. The clean and potent production is a credit to studio vet Matt Hyde, who engineered and mixed the album alongside Seether frontman Shaun Morgan, who served as producer.

The hard-rock bands will kick off the outing on September 17th in Asheville, North Carolina, with dates running through October 20th in Minneapolis. Shows in Boston, Chicago, and Dallas highlight the month-long run.
