Boys Like Girls are coming out of their more than decade-long hiatus and dropping new music this Friday.

Frontman Martin Johnson announced the upcoming single “Blood and Sugar” and teased a new album in a video shared to social media on Tuesday. The year was 2006, and five years after the release of the successful spoof film "Not Another Teen Movie," it was decided a TV spinoff of the film was a good idea. And so, Comedy Central ordered up a pilot for "Not Another High School Show," and the reason you don't remember it is because the network declined to order a full season. Now you can see why. On the occasion of Jennifer Lawrence's birthday today, a clip is going around the web (via Defamer) of a scene from the high school parody show in which she cameos. But more interesting is watching Alison Brie stretch the broad comedic muscles she would bring to "Community" three years later. Brie does what she can with dead-on-arrival material. Meanwhile, another clip from the show featuring Jeffrey Christopher Todd, Anna Osceola, and John Keefe has been online for a while, and it isn't so great either.

Before "Two Is Better Than One" music video comes out in full, Boys Like Girls has given fans a taste of the video through several photos from the set. Brought forth by MTV Buzzworthy, two of the pictures capture the alternative rock band jamming inside what seems to be a wet and deserted warehouse, while the other one uncovers a silhouette image of frontman Martin Johnson.

"Two Is Better Than One" is the third single released off the band's second studio album "Love Drunk". It features country crooner Taylor Swift on the hook and has reached No. 8 on Billboard Hot 200. MTV will premiere its music video on Thursday, December 10, after releasing a behind-the-scene video Tuesday, December 8.

They've already landed a cameo from Ashley Tisdale in their "Love Drunk" video, and they recorded a duet with Taylor Swift on their new album, but it's the one collaboration Boys Like Girls didn't do that's grabbed the most headlines.

It seems that, in the months leading up to the release of their Love Drunk album (due September 8), someone thought it would be a good idea to begin spreading a rumor that the band were recording a song with none other than Chris Brown. News of the supposed collaboration — apparently on a song called "Just Waiting for You" — made the rounds on gossip sites and even ended up on the band's...

Rachel Specter, Brendan Miller, Anna Osceola, John Keefe, Jeffrey Christopher Todd and Jocelin Donahue have enrolled in the Comedy Central pilot Not Another High School Show.

The six relative newcomers comprise the ensemble cast of the project, a spoof of teen TV dramas that's from Sony Pictures Television and executive producers Mike Bender, Neal Moritz and Joel Gallen (Not Another Teen Movie). The project will spoof shows ranging from Dawson's Creek to Buffy the Vampire Slayer to The O.C.

It's understood that the producers wanted to cast fresh faces in the roles of the archetypal teen characters.

The High School pilot begins shooting Saturday in Los Angeles.
