The following contains major spoilers for All-New Venom#7, on sale June 4 from Marvel Comics.

Marvel's All-New Venom is teaming up with one of the greatest symbiote superheroes of all time.

A preview for All-New Venom #7 from Marvel Comics drops readers into the middle of Central Park, where Mary Jane Watson and Flash Thompson are reuniting for a long-overdue discussion. As it turns out, Flash has been keeping his eye on Mj from afar, and not in any way she particularly appreciates. Of course, Flash had no intention of being untoward, especially not where one of his oldest friends is concerned. Instead, Flash was merely keeping an eye on Venom, who isn't all that keen on letting Mary Jane eavesdrop on their conversation.

Ms. Marvel's New Mutant Superpower Finally Revealed, Permanently Changing the Hero's Lore

For years now, Marvel has been teasing that Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel has a hidden superpower - a result of her combined mutant/Inhuman DNA. While her stretching abilities come from her Inhuman genetics, that same DNA blocks her mutant ability from manifesting... or at least it did until now.

This isn't the superpower fans expected (and feared) Ms. Marvel would get...

In today's Giant-Size X-Men #1 - from Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Adam Kubert, Laura Martin and Clayton Cowles - Kamala Khan is hurled through time, encountering the X-Men during the events of 1975's pivotal Giant-Size X-Men from Gil Kane and Dave Cockrum. Batman/Deadpool Announced As First Official Marvel/DC Comics Crossover In Over 2 Decades
Image
Back in February at the ComicsPro retailer expo, we got word that a new Marvel Comics/DC Comics crossover was in the works. No details were disclosed at the time, but thanks to EW, we now know which characters this massive event will focus on.

Marvel's Merc with a Mouth and DC's Dark Knight are set to cross paths in two one-shots, with Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo on board Marvel Comics' Deadpool/Batman, and Grant Morrison and Dan Mora handling writing and artwork for Batman/Deadpool.

We've seen a few of these crossovers over the years, going all the way back to Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man in the late '70s, but this is the first time Marvel and DC characters will clash on the page since 2003's Jla/Avengers.

"A lot of things have to align," Dan Buckley, the President of Marvel Entertainment, explains. "Mostly we plan...

Image
In a wild change to Spider-Man's backstory, Marvel just revealed his parents were killed by a fellow A-list Marvel hero. Peter Parker spent much of his youth being raised by his beloved Aunt May and Uncle Ben. But that only came to pass because of the deaths of his parents, Mary and Richard Parker. Decades ago, Peter learned that Richard and Mary were CIA agents killed while working undercover against the Nazi supervillain known as the Red Skull - now, it turns out the villain had a little help.

In Spider-Man & Wolverine #1 - from Marc Guggenheim, Kaare Andrews, Brian Reber and Travis Lanham - Spidey and Logan team up to steal back a cache of information on every undercover agent, past and present. All-new Venom Editor Breaks Down [Spoiler] Being Venom And Reveals The Suspects We Didn't Get To See

Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez's All-New Venom has so far revolved around the secret identity of Venom's "all-new" host.

Following the clues alongside Dylan Brock, we've ruled out various suspects over the months, including the characters originally named as the four main possibilities: Luke Cage, Madame Masque, Rick Jones, and Robbie Robertson.

While fans became nearly certain the new symbiote hero was the hugely unpopular Paul Rabin, this week's All-New Venom #5 reveals the shocking truth that it's his girlfriend and occasional superhero Jackpot, Mary Jane Watson.

Talking to Aipt, Venom editor Jordan D. White was asked why Marvel Comics decided to have Mj become the Venom Symbiote's latest host.

"We started with the idea of a mystery host, and there was a dinner where we started throwing around ideas for who the host could be," he started. "So while we didn’t kick off the whole idea of the book with Mj in place,...

Avengers: Doomsday Casting Suggests Several Possible Marvel Storylines
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Will "Avengers: Doomsday" have room for Doctor Victor von Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) himself? The film's casting announcement confirmed not only many MCU regulars but also the cast of the forthcoming "Fantastic Four: First Steps" and several returning faces from the 20th Century Fox "X-Men" films. Some major Marvel character absences suggest this may not even be the whole cast.

"Doomsday" is going to be a two-part film, like the last "Avengers" duology, "Infinity War" and "Endgame." We can guess pretty concretely what "Secret Wars" will be: Doom will achieve godly power and rule over a realm called Battleworld. In broad strokes, that's what both the original 1984 "Secret Wars" and the 2015 one (by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic) are about.

But "Doomsday" is less easy to predict. Beyond it introducing Doom, and presumably setting the stage for "Secret Wars," other...

All-new Venom's Identity Has Seemingly Been Revealed And Fans Really Aren't Happy - Possible Spoilers
Image
Last year, Marvel Comics released All-New Venom, featuring a mystery host for the Venom Symbiote. The four leading candidates were Luke Cage, Madame Masque, Robbie Robertson, and Rick Jones, though subsequent issues have seemingly closed the door on all of them.

Mary Jane Watson's hugely unpopular boyfriend, Paul, soon emerged as another contender and didn't sit well with fans. Thankfully, he also appears to have been taken out of the running, so where does that leave us?

It's not Dylan Brock, and Eddie Brock is currently host to the Carnage Symbiote, so there aren't that many options. And we'll bet you didn't see this one coming.

Ahead of All-New Venom #5's release next Wednesday, a variant cover has leaked online which appears to confirm that Mary Jane is the new Venom. Fans have already highlighted a few clues from previous issues pointing to this being the case, so the...

Avengers 6: MCU Just Doesn’t Have the Balls To Make Pedro Pascal Play the Most Villainous Reed Richards Variant Who’s a Multiverse-Level Threat

Marvel’s first family is finally making its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Pedro Pascal starring as one of Marvel Universe’s most brilliant minds, Reed Richards. Known for his versatility and ability to bring nuance to every role, fan expectations are certainly sky-high to witness him playing Mr. Fantastic.

However, Marvel has finally revealed which comic issue readers will finally discover Venom’s identity as well the issue’s mysterious cover art.

In a post on X, Marvel Comics HQ revealed the cover image for All-New Venom #5 – written by Al Ewing, with art by Carlos Gómez – which promises to reveal the secret identity of Venom’s new host. While the comic series has presented four possible options, most fans aren’t really certain who it is.

Writer Al Ewing and Marvel have slipped in false leads already; the vague clues and overt yet useless hints have been meant to turn readers in every which way.

Marvel Knows the Truth: Wolverine Isn't the Most Feral Mutant, Not By a Long Shot
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1

Warning: Contains intense, graphic imagery.

Wolverine is certainly one of Marvel’s most feral mutants. Without the adamantium, his healing factor would kick into overdrive and trigger his bestial true form. However, there is another mutant, often considered Wolverine’s greatest villain, whose ferocity terrifyingly overwhelms Logan’s. Unlike Wolverine, this character isn’t afraid of letting his inner animal loose. The difference between the two is so significant that even Marvel can’t avoid the truth.

Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1 – written by Frank Tieri, with Michael Sta. Maria – features Wolverine learning some hidden history about his nemesis, Sabretooth.

Following the eight-part miniseries Sabretooth War, Victor Creed is dead, meaning Wolverine is left without his antithesis. Now, Logan is uncovering a piece of Creed’s past, with a story set in New York’s 1900s criminal underground.

Marvel Comics Reveals New Godzilla Vs. Fantastic Four Artwork And Details As Team Battles King Of The Monsters
Image
Last year, Marvel Comics and Toho International, the Japanese studio's U.S.-based subsidiary that has brought global sensation Godzilla to life, began an exciting new collaboration that resulted in a hit Godzilla variant cover program and long-awaited reprints and collections of Godzilla's original Marvel comic series.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Godzilla will enter the Marvel Universe in groundbreaking new comics, beginning with six action-packed one-shots that pit Marvel heroes against Godzilla in breathtaking battles, each set in different eras of Godzilla and Marvel Comics.

The Godzilla vs. one-shots will mix Godzilla lore with the Marvel mythos, twisting history as icons like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Hulk, the X-Men and Thor face off against the King of the Monsters.

Of course, a milestone pop culture event like this requires the industry's greatest contemporary talents including Ryan North, John Romita Jr., Jason Aaron, Fabian Nicieza, Joe Kelly,...

Marvel Almost Transformed Some of Spider-Man's Underrated Villains Into Venom But Bailed Last Minute

Warning! Spoilers for Marvel's All-New Venom

With the debut of the All-New Venom series, Marvel Comics has introduced a major mystery, as fans eagerly wait to discover the secret identity of Venom’s new host. Unlike Eddie or Dylan Brock, this currently unknown hero is loud and boisterous, a far cry from Venom’s old hosts. However, while readers still don’t know who’s hidden under the symbiote, there are a few characters that are definitely not.

In an interview with Aitp, Marvel Editor Jordan D. White discussed All-New Venom – written by Al Ewng, with art by Carlos Gómez – and offered some valuable hints into the direction of the series as well, as insight into the behind-the-scenes process of the series’ creation.

While Jordan obviously wouldn’t comment on who Venom’s host is, he was able to confirm some of the characters who didn’t make the cut.

50: Wolverine (v1) #87 W: Larry Hama P: Adam Kubert I: Dan Green C:Marie Javins

This issue was never not going to make the list. I choose it because it centres around Maverick but of course, it is a Wolverine story first and foremost. When I got into collecting Wolverine comics one of the things I wanted to learn about first was the history of Team X. In that regard this issue delivers as it alternates between the past and present. In te present Maverick has contracted the Legacy Virus and is attempting to trick Wolverine into killing him. The flashbacks reveal how Maverick would go to any lengths to complete a mission after Sabretooth has sabotaged their exit route. There are elements in this story that are touched upon in novels and cartoons that I had read before this issue, so to see it in comics was very cool.

It's Official: Marvel's New Avengers Roster Is the Strongest Team We Have Ever Seen Thanks to Magneto
Image
The Avengers have been a staple in the Marvel Universe for decades, and the roster is constantly evolving - which is why it might be surprising to hear that I think the team was at its strongest under Magneto's unexpected leadership. It's hard to top a line-up like Loki, Doctor Doom, Enchantress, Carnage, and even more heavy-hitters, and I believe that the Master of Magnetism recruited the most powerful Avengers ever.

Avengers & X-Men: Axis #2 by Rick Remender and Andy Kubert is one of the tensest events I've read, as Magneto's rage-fueled murder of Red Skull allowed him to become Red Onslaught and begin using Charles Xavier's telepathic strength to spread worldwide hatred. As readers, we all witnessed many of the most talented Avengers and X-Men reduced to failed plans and inadequate powers.

Red Onslaught may have emerged victorious had Magneto not chosen that moment to rewrite the game.

When the Evil Iron Man Debuts in the MCU, He Needs to Bring the 'Evil Avengers' With Him
Image
While Iron Man is perhaps the greatest hero in the MCU (and one of the greatest in Marvel Comics), there is a version of him that’s actually a villain, complete with an entire ‘evil Avengers’ team. In fact, not too long ago, many fans were convinced that this corrupt version of Iron Man was going to appear in the MCU. Given the level of outcry, it’s only a matter of time before the MCU brings this Iron Man into the fold for real, and when it does, it must include his ‘evil Avengers’.

The evil Iron Man in question is known as Superior Iron Man, which is what became of Tony Stark during Marvel Comics’ Axis event. In Avengers & X-Men: Axis, the Red Skull harnesses the power of Onslaught, and the Avengers and X-Men team up to take him down. When it became increasingly clear the heroes were going to lose,...

No Matter How Hard Wolverine Tries, He'll Never Be a True Hero, And That's a Good Thing
Image
True heroism will always elude Wolverine, and as a reader, I think that it’s for the better. The character has always been plagued by a darker side, constantly dividing him between the better nature he tries to adhere to and his animal ferocity. No matter how hard Logan tries, he’ll never be able to become a true hero, as the latest issue of his solo series proves.

Wolverine #3 – written by Saladin Ahmed, with art by Martín Cóccolo – continues the protagonist's confrontation with Marvel's newest Wendigo, Leonard; rather than fight him, however, Logan must help him, while also surviving pursuit by Department H.

While Wolverine is able to keep Department H from attacking Leonard, he finds himself attacked by Leonard. Briefly, Logan gives into his instincts and slashes at Leonard with his claws, before being broken out of his rage by Leonard asking him to stop. Wolverine then stops...

Superman's Forgotten "Violet Sun" Power Proves He's Basically a God
Image
Almost every DC Comics fan knows exactly how Superman's powers work, but what still surprises even the hardcore fans is how strange his powers can really get. While it's no secret that Superman gains power from a yellow sun, the powers he gained from a "violet sun" proved just how powerful he could really become.

Avid readers of Superman may have seen these powers in the story "Mind Over Money!" by Bob Rozakis and John Calnan from Superman #371. In this story, Superman finishes flying through hyper-space and finds himself in the direct path of a sun going supernova. But this is no ordinary sun. This star has a violet color, emitting purple solar radiation. Superman immediately flies away, but it turns out that he didn't escape unscathed.

While stopping a robbery, Superman discovers that the tiny bit of purple solar radiation he was exposed to gave him incredible power over the physical world.

Wolverine's Best Story Was Inspired by a DC Comics Legend
Image
Wolverine is one of Marvels most popular characters, but his best story might actually have been partially inspired by DC Comics legend Joe Kubert. Wolverine became popular with fans during Chris Claremont and John Byrnes landmark run on X-Men, to the point where he was eventually given his own self-titled miniseries in 1982. But the unsung hero of that Wolverine series might just be Joe Kubert, best known for his work on DC characters like Sgt. Rock and Hawkman.

Appearing alongside Adam Kubert at the Wolverine: 60-Year Anniversary panel at Dragon Con 2024, Wolverine inker Joe Rubenstein explained the influence of Adams father Joe Kubert on himself and penciler Frank Miller for that seminal 1982 miniseries.

When I had gone to the San Diego Con, I had bought a stack of your fathers (Joe Kuberts) books, Rubenstein explained to Kubert. Rubenstein then showed them to Frank Miller while the two were catching a...

Since I was young, it was my first introduction to the character - and it's the worst introduction possible.

A few years later, I began a complete read-through of Deadpool's comics and found a completely different and much more fun character. However, with Deadpool & Wolverine: Wwiii, the same mistake has been made with Wade's beloved character. While the...

Wolverine's Bone Claws Caused a Huge Argument Among Marvel Creators

Wolverines bone claws caused a storm of controversy among fans when he lost his Adamantium in the nineties, but according to writer Larry Hama, it was nothing compared to what happened behind the scenes at Marvel. Logans Adamantium was ripped from his body during the Fatal Attractions event in 1993, revealing his claws were actually made of bone.
