Jason Statham Action Thriller 'Mutiny' Suffers Release Date Delay
Image
Action and Jason Statham fans just got some bad news. The genre icon’s upcoming thriller has now been delayed, meaning we will all have to wait a little longer to see The Stath once again ply his action hero trade and put his particular set of skills to good use.

Mutinysees Statham in the role as both star and producer as he joins forces with the director behind 2023’s acclaimed Gerard Butler-led action outing Plane, Jean-François Richet. Led by Jason Statham, the rest of the Mutiny cast includes Peaky Blinders and Malignant star Annabelle Wallis and Wrath of Man and The Gentlemen’s Jason Wong, as well as Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravičius, and Adrian Lester.

While Mutiny was originally scheduled to land in theaters next year on January 9, 2026, Lionsgate has now revealed (via Variety), that the action outing will now hit the big screen in summer 2026 instead, with...

Before HBO's Green Lantern Series, Aaron Pierre Starred In A Failed Superman Prequel
Image
In 2026, Aaron Pierre's name will resonate across the stars when he takes on the role of the heroic Green Lantern John Stewart in DC Comics' HBO series "Lanterns." Joining him will be Kyle Chandler as the greatest lantern of all, Hal Jordan, whose reputation was previously damaged by Ryan Reynolds in one of the worst comic book movies ever made. Hence, a good deal's riding on these two newcomers joining the DC Universe. For Pierre, however, this isn't his first time stepping into the universe of Emerald Knights and Men of Steel.

In 2018, Pierre starred in the Superman prequel series "Krypton," which took place 200 years before the titular planet's destruction and, in turn, the birth of Kal-El. Pierre co-starred as Dev-Em, a Kryptonian whose allegiance was with House-Zod, the future enemies of Superman's House-El.

Unfortunately, the show only lasted two seasons before it was canceled in 2019, taking the history...

Image
Soccer Aid for Unicef 2025, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV1, Itvx, Stv and Stv Player last week from Old Trafford, Manchester, has raised £15,280,163 for Unicef's vital work helping children grow up safe, healthy and able to play.

This year, with thanks to the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, every donation made up to £5 million was doubled. The hotly anticipated match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford football stadium in Manchester to an audience of over 70,000 people. The match ended 5-4 to World XI Fc, stealing the win back and keeping the overall lead with 8-6 wins since the inaugural 2006 match.

Kicking off the game, Sam Thompson officially completed his ‘Match Ball Mission’, which saw the ball travel over 270 miles by...

James Gunn Reveals How Supergirl Movie Plans to Use Jason Momoa's Lobo
Image
James Gunn has revealed exactly how the upcoming Supergirlmovie is going to use Jason Momoa's character of Lobo. The actor has already been confirmed to be making a cameo appearance as the fan-favorite alien bounty hunter, after previously playing Aquaman in the Dceu.

Speaking on the DC Studios Showcase Official Podcast, Gunn talked about Momoa's casting and how the character of Lobo will impact Supergirl's story. "The comic is very much a bunch of little stories," he said. "We needed to create one throughline, one three-act story, so Lobo helps us to do that." Supergirl is scheduled to be released as part of the Dcu's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters on June 26, 2026.

Gunn went into further detail about using Tom King's original ideas for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and using them to push the movie forward. "Tom, he's one of the guys I trust, that we talk about possible things.

‘MobLand’ Episode 9 Recap & Ending Explained: Are Conrad And Maeve Arrested?
Image
In episode 8 of MobLand, Seraphina was delivered back to her home in the Cotswolds. Even though Maeve had essentially colluded with Richie to orchestrate the shootout in Antwerp and the subsequent kidnapping to Amsterdam to have Seraphina killed, she welcomed her back home. But as soon as she was out of earshot, Maeve began filling Kevin’s ears with poison regarding Seraphina’s supposed “true intentions” and the possibility that she was the rat in the Harrigan household. In addition to that, while talking about who would be Conrad’s successor, Maeve hinted at the fact that, maybe, Eddie wasn’t Kevin’s son; he was actually Conrad’s. Moving on from the Harrigans to the Da Souzas, Harry’s allegiances were heavily questioned because he’d roped Kat McAllister of all people into this mess, supposedly under the guise of helping the Harrigans. However, Harry assured Conrad that he was still on his team.

However, after getting a call from an emotional Alice (Emily Barber), Jan decided to step away and meet her newfound friend at a local pub. There, she volleyed a series of prying questions from Alice before being whisked back home by Paul (Emmett J. Scanlan). Now, it looks like Jan is going to have to answer for her decision to leave the property in a big way… and Alice will have to face him, too. In this exclusive sneak peek at Sunday’s new episode,...

If you only watch one Harlan Coben Netflix show, it must be this one
Image
If you watch a lot of thrillers on Netflix, chances are you've come across the Harlan Coben collection. Yes, Netflix actually calls it that. It's a lineup of 10 twisty, binge-worthy mystery shows based on Coben’s bestselling novels and one original series. However, it's worth mentioning that while some are excellent, others might not hit the same mark. That being said, if you’re looking for the best of the bunch, Fool Me Once should be the one you prioritize. Let me tell you why.

First off, it's an adaptation of arguably one of Coben's best books. The 2016 novel is a perfect blend of suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists, which translates seamlessly into the Netflix show. That might have something to do with Danny Brocklehurst being the creative to adapt the book to series. He previously worked as a writer on the Coben series adaptations The Stranger and Stay Close.

Stars: Jason Statham, Michael Peña, David Harbour, Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Isla Gie, Emmett J Scanlan, Eve Mauro | Written by David Ayer, Sylvester Stallone | Directed by David Ayer

Directed by David Ayer and co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man attempts to balance the rough, working-class world with brutal, high-stakes action. While it delivers on its promise of hard-hitting fights and suspense, it struggles to offer much beyond the standard revenge-thriller formula.

The story follows Levon Cade (Jason Statham) as he reluctantly leaves behind his peaceful life to track down a dangerous human trafficking ring. Along the way, he faces off against a string of ruthless criminals, including Russian mobsters and outlaw biker gangs. His relentless pursuit is driven by both a moral obligation and an unshakable instinct to protect. It’s a familiar setup, and while it provides plenty of action,...

"I Wanted a Film Where We Could See Him Smile": David Ayer Brings a New Version of Jason Statham to 'A Working Man'
Image
When you think of Jason Statham, you think of high-octane action, cold-blooded revenge, and a whole lot of punching people in the face. But in A Working Man, David Ayer wanted to give audiences a different side of the action superstar — one that lets him smile, connect, and embrace a family dynamic in a way rarely seen in his filmography. The result? A grittier, more emotionally resonant thriller that still delivers all the hard-hitting action that fans expect.

For Ayer and Statham, that's a striking departure from Statham’s usual lone-wolf persona. While his characters occasionally have loved ones in the background — maybe a daughter in distress or a fallen comrade to avenge — his roles rarely allow for the warmth and connection that Ayer was determined to explore, as the director explained to Collider's Steve Weintraub in an interview ahead of the movie's release later this month. He said:...

Where to Watch ‘A Working Man’: Is Jason Statham’s New Revenge Movie Streaming?
Image
Jason Statham is back to make yet another case for his place atop the current, disappointingly uncrowded B-Movie Star mountain. The actor has kept busy as of late by starring at least once a year in an entertaining, usually well-received mid-budget action thriller, and 2025 is no exception to that trend. Everything We Know About A Working Man (Jason Statham film reaches theatres this week)
Image
Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone have collaborated on multiple projects over the years, and we’re not just talking about the four Expendables movies they made together. Stallone also wrote the screenplay for the 2013 Statham action film Homefront, which was directed by Gary Fleder and based on a novel by Chuck Logan. Now, Statham and Stallone are continuing their working relationship with the action thriller A Working Man, which also reunites Statham with his The Beekeeper director David Ayer – and looks to be very much along the same lines as that film. A Working Man is set to reach theatres on March 28th, and in anticipation of its release, we decided to put together a list of everything we know about the movie. Here we go:

Jason Statham’s 'A Working Man' Boasts "Fresh" Score for the Action Icon on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
The action moviemaking duo of Jason Statham and director David Ayer continue to deliver following last year’s The Beekeeper, with their latest effort, this month’s A Working Man, now landing a knockout score on Rotten Tomatoes. While The Stath consistently delivers in the action department, his movies don’t always succeed with the critics. Thankfully, A Working Man does both, as the newly revealed “fresh” score confirms.

While not quite reaching the buzzing heights of The Beekeeper’s 71%, A Working Man is not far behind. The action thriller now stands at a solid 67% at time of writing, with critics heaping praise on Statham and Ayer’s return. MovieWeb’s own Julian Roman heaped praise on A Working Man, and can now feel The Stath’s next action franchise incoming...

The Beekeeper Director Says New Action Movie With Jason Statham Is 'Perfectly Teed Up' to Launch a Franchise
Image
David Ayer's new action film, A Working Man, starring Jason Statham, is hitting theaters this Friday. The two hope to recreate the box office success they had with 2024's The Beekeeper. If the film proves successful, Ayer recently revealed that he could envision the movie launching a brand-new action franchise and says he would be up for directing a sequel.

Ayer's latest collaboration with Statham, A Working Man, is based on Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade, which is the first of a twelve-book series. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether he would make a sequel, given the film's ending, Ayer noted that there was plenty of source material to pull from and believes a sequel is in the cards if given the green light. "Yeah, absolutely. Chuck wrote 12 books," Ayer said. "It’s a really interesting character. I feel like we cracked the code with Jason and worldizing Chuck’s novels.

Jason Statham and director David Ayer give vile human traffickers a brutal comeuppance in A Working Man, a bone-crushing actioner that delivers exactly what audiences expect.Sylvester Stallone adapts the script from the novel Levon's Trade by Chuck Dixon, the first in a popular series of 12 books. Can you smell the franchise cooking? A Working Man is chock-full of archetypal characters with the requisite damsel in distress, loathsome villains, and a butt-kicking hero unfairly maligned for trying to do the right thing against daunting odds. There are honestly not many surprises, but you'll walk out of the theater sufficiently entertained.

Levon Cade (Jason Statham) works diligently as the construction foreman for the Garcia family. The former Royal Marine Commando has ostensibly settled for a peaceful life with his young daughter, Merry (Isla Gie). She lives with her grieving maternal grandfather, who blames Cade for his daughter's passing. Joe Garcia (Michael Peña) and his wife,...

‘A Working Man’ Review: Jason Statham in David Ayer’s Formulaic but Effective Actioner
Image
Things aren’t going very well for Jason Statham’s character in the actor’s new action vehicle. He’s sleeping in his car, desperately in need of funds for the legal fees necessary to secure custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie) from her grandfather. And although he has a solid job as a construction foreman, trouble always seems to come his way, as when he’s forced to reveal his tremendous fighting skills when a gang of toughs show up to threaten one of his workers.

“You didn’t see anything,” he tells his boss’ daughter Jenny (Arrianna Rivas) after she witnesses him in action and guesses correctly that he’s no mere working man, despite the film’s title.

Not long afterward, Jenny goes to a local bar and winds up missing. Her distraught parents (Michael Peña, Noemi Gonzalez), aware of their employee’s elite military past,...

‘A Working Man’ Review: For Jason Statham, Revenge Is a Dish Served Dead Behind the Eyes
Image
Jason Statham’s Levon Cade isn’t just a simple “working man.” Sure, he’s putting in the sweat equity as a foreman at his friend Joe’s (Michael Peña) construction company, but it’s not long into David Ayer’s film before we learn of his past as a highly trained and decorated member of the British military. Full of close-ups of bullets, dog tags, helmets, and British and American flags, the opening credits serve up a barrage of images of military fetishization, only for the film to leave us with the realization that Levon’s service was underappreciated.

Not only is Levon blamed by his rich ex-father-in-law (Richard Heap) for the death of his mother—she committed suicide while he was serving overseas—but his lawyers suggest that his untreated Ptsd will make it difficult for him to get custody of his daughter (Isla Gie). The notion of...

‘A Working Man’ Review: Jason Statham Battles Russian Mob In Familiar Violent Action Vehicle
Image
With a Jason Statham-starring movie you know upfront what to expect. A Working Man is no different. In fact, I don’t know why they bother to give these movies titles. Just call it Jason Statham and put a number after that for all the inevitable sequels.

A Working Man seems set up to start a franchise for Statham in which he plays Levon Cade, a former Royal Guard soldier now working as a blue collar Chicago construction worker who is trying to be a good family man grieving the loss of his wife and attempting to get custody of their daughter, Merry (Isla Gie) whose grandfather is attempting to take away from Levon. This film is based on the book Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon who has 12 books in all, fashioned after the character. Director David Ayer teams again with Statham after last year’s successful violent actioner,...

Jason Statham Action Thriller 'Parker' Hits Free Streaming in April
Image
Whether he’s an ex-assassin-turned-beekeeper, or an assassin posing as a mechanic, an ex- Special Forces soldier dragged out of retirement for one last mission, or even just a run-of-the-mill unlicensed street salesman, Jason Statham always brings a gritty magnetism to the screen. Even when what’s playing on the screen has been panned by both critics and audiences alike. Such is the case with the 2013 action thriller, Parker, which is now headed to free streaming.

But, while Parker may have been panned at the time, it’s worth a watch for anyone looking for a reliably charming performance from The Stath, who once again demonstrates his particular set of skills in this tale of a professional thief who finds himself double-crossed and left for dead.

Directed by Taylor Hackford and written by John J. McLaughlin, Parker sees Jason Statham team-up with Jennifer Lopez while facing off against The Shield star Michael Chiklis.

The first reactions to Jason Statham and David Ayer’s A Working Man say it’s pure ’80s-style action with an absurd body count
Image
If action movies from the ’80s get your blood pumping, you’ll want to pay attention to the hype behind David Ayer and Jason Stathams latest cinematic beat-down, A Working Man. The first reactions to the duo’s latest display of one-man-army madness are making the rounds on social media. From the look of things, we’ve got many reasons to get excited about Statham’s latest showcase of badassery and body-sending one-liners.

According to JoBlo’s Editor-in-Chief, Chris Bumbray, A Working Man is a “campy B-movie blast” that starts off low-key but quickly ramps up with demented madness.

A Working Man is a campy B-movie blast. Statham kills hundreds. Stallone’s script is eighties-style madness (a compliment) and Ayer’s direction is on point. Similar to Beekeeper in that it starts low key and gets more demented (gloriously so) as it goes on.

'A Working Man' First Reactions Heap Praise on Jason Statham’s Gloriously No-Nonsense Action Thriller
Image
Following the monumental success of last year’s The Beekeeper, action movie icon Jason Statham returns to the big screen this week with the equally brilliant-looking A Working Man. Well, we say “equally brilliant,” but based on the first reactions, the reunion of Statham and The Beekeeper’s David Ayer is sounding even better.

Beginning with X/Twitter user and critic @NextBestPicture, A Working Man finds Statham at his absolute best, with the "no-nonsense blockbuster” delivering nothing less than “relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.”

“A Working Man is easily my favorite Jason Statham-led action film in quite some time. Leaps and bounds better than his last collaboration with David Ayer. While it may run a bit long, this blue-collar, no-nonsense blockbuster delivers relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.

Jason Statham’s New Action Thriller From 'Angel Has Fallen' Director Gets Filming Update
Image
Action icon Jason Statham continues to fly the flag for crowd-pleasing action movie fare, with the actor and martial artist now joining forces with the perfect director for another tale of a man with a mysterious past who is forced to fight for justice. The action thriller project does not yet have a title, but is now shooting in Enniskerry, Ireland, and will see The Stath working under the direction of Ric Roman Waugh, who is best known for helming the Gerard Butler-led Angel Has Fallen and Greenland.

Enniskerry hosted the Disney sequel Disenchanted back in 2022, but rather than the music and whimsy of that fantastical comedy, Jason Statham will instead tear through the picturesque village as a man who, after saving a girl from drowning, finds himself the target of a local gang. Enniskerry will stand-in for Scotland in the movie, with a shot of Statham posing with...

Jason Statham Constructs a Tense Action Narrative in New 'A Working Man' Sneak Peeks
Image
“Action” is likely the first word you think about when you hear Jason Statham’s name. The actor has solidified his career in Hollywood through his work in the genre and is one of the best modern action stars out there. But, on a deeper level, many of his projects show him standing up for the little guy and protecting those who need it the most. Movies like The Transporter, Mechanic: Resurrection, and The Beekeeper see him portraying a character who uses his strength, power, and brains to stomp out the injustices in the world and keep the unprotected safe. Soon, fans will see their hero step into another protector role through his appearance in David Ayer’s A Working Man. In two new sneak peeks, audiences can get a taste of the story behind the film, which serves as a cinematic adaptation of Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel, Levon’s Trade.

One of the best movies in the repertoire of Jason Statham is all set to hit free streaming. The action star continues to fight the good fight for no-nonsense thrills, but 2021’s Wrath of Man is a little more complex than The Stath’s usual fare. The actor has become well-known for his particular set of skills, expertly throwing his fists, feet and bullets at anyone who dares cross his path, but his movies are often divisive among critics and audiences. Well, this action thriller finds the two groups in agreement: it’s great.

Directed by Guy Ritchie in his fourth collaboration with Jason Statham, and co-written by Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies, Wrath of Man boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Scott Eastwood. 'A Working Man' Clip Finds Jason Statham Doind What He Does Best
Image
“All right...let’s play.” Action movie icon Jason Statham does what he does best in a new action-packed clip from this month’s highly anticipated action thriller, A Working Man. Directed by The Beekeeper’s David Ayer, and with a script from Statham’s Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man is set to hit theaters on March 28, 2025, and promises to be another crowd-pleasing action outing much like last year’s surprise hit, The Beekeeper.

You can check out the footage below, which finds The Stath entering the lion’s den where a criminal overlord named Dutch vastly underestimates the granite-jawed killer in front of him. Making the classic mistake of telling his henchmen to “get him,” Statham tears through his assailants with ease, throwing fists, breaking bones, and no doubt resulting in cheers and applause from the audience.
