Harlan Coben has dominated the industry with his fantastic spread of thriller novels. From Miracle Cure to Six Years, the acclaimed author certainly knows how to produce a gripping page-turner. The writer has also stuck contracts with certain TV networks, ensuring that these tales can be brought to life.
In 2018, Coben signed a contract with Netflix, allowing the streaming service to adapt some of his most famous novels. All of these shows have done very well commercially and have also extended the writer's incredibly devout audience. As such, some fans struggle to pick their favorite Harlan Coben Netflix series.

Welcome to the island of St Jory, population: one less than there used to be.
A year ago, St Jory teenager Cai Prideaux went missing and the police did very little about it. Now there’s a new sheriff in town in Sgt Grace Narayan (Anjli Mohindra), an outsider with an unbending belief in the letter of the law that’s ruffling feathers among the locals. The islanders, you see, are used to running things their own way. The True Way.
That’s the Hot Fuzz-meets-The Wicker Man premise for The Red King, an original six-part series written by Being Human creator Toby Whithouse and directed by Daniel O’Hara and Lisa Clarke. It’s a crime drama/folk horror mash-up that uses murder mystery trappings to tell a story about religion, insularity and national identity.
St Jory is your typical folk horror island in that there’s nothing typical about it.

Last night's new Doctor Who episode, The Girl Who Lived, marked the debut of guest star Maisie Williams as Ashildr. The Girl Who Lived was the first entry of a two-part episode, with the actress returning for next week's The Woman Who Lived, airing Saturday, October 24 on BBC and BBC America. Today, BBC revealed two new trailers for The Woman Who Lived, featuring Maisie Williams and series star Peter Capaldi.
The Woman Who Lived is set in 1651 England, where the deadly Highwayman 'The Knightmare' and his sidekick stalk the dark streets of London. But when they find loot that's not of this world, they come face to face with The Doctor. Who is the Knightmare in league with? And can the Doctor avoid the hangman's noose and protect Earth from a devilish betrayal? Rufus Hound and Todd Kramer also guest star in next week's new episode.

Back in March, BBC America announced that Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams will be guest starring in a Season 9 episode of Doctor Who. While we saw Maisie Williams pop up in a recent trailer, we still haven't heard much about who she's playing in the beloved series. Today, the network has released a new trailer for this week's episode, The Girl Who Died, which gives us another look at her character, who, according to TV Line, is named Ashildr.
The episode centers on the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman), who have been captured by Vikings. The Time Lord and his companion step up to help protect their village from Space Warriors from the future, known as the Mire. Outnumbered and outgunned, their fate seems inevitable. So why is the Doctor preoccupied with a single Viking girl? Presumably, Maisie Williams' Ashildr is this "single Viking girl," who...

Beethoven, erotic eyebrows, and the concluding part to Under The Lake's Doctor Who story. Our spoiler-filled review of Before The Flood...
This review contains spoilers. Our spoiler-free review is here.
9.4 Before The Flood
The pressure's on once there's been a terrific opening episode of a Doctor Who two-parter. I enjoyed last week's base under siege first part, Under The Lake, enormously, and some - but not all - of the spooky tone of that comes across to parts of Before The Flood.
But also, writer Toby Whithouse isn't content to just do more of the same. He's got the space afforded to him to explore a Doctor Who story over the course of an hour and twenty minutes, and for this concluding part, that means he has time to split the Doctor and Clara up.
At first, to be fair, you might just be wondering what on earth is he up to?...

The follow-up to Under The Lake may not quite match its predecessor, but taken as a whole, the two-part story is a strong one...
It'd be fair to say that Before The Flood doesn't quite open in the manner you expect.
Having set up a terrific cliffhanger at the end of last week's Under The Lake, writer Toby Whithouse promptly pulls the rug, and takes a left turn, with the Doctor talking to camera, and specifically telling us to Google a given term. It might just be worth doing that, too. For a minute, I thought I'd tuned into the wrong episode, but eventually, it does all make sense.
Credit, then, for a refreshing gamble. Under The Lake was very much classic Doctor Who in feel, and here, a few chances are taken to knock away the warm feeling of familiarity. It's a gamble that does come with consequences: there's...

Doctor Who is about to unveil one of its creepiest monsters in a long while - the Fisher King.
The creature - seen facing off with Peter Capaldi's doctor in new pictures - is voiced by Peter Serafinowicz, with Slipknot's Corey Taylor (no, really) providing its horrific scream.
Our Time Lord hero will also come up against another less threatening alien, with Paul Kaye guest-starring as Prentis, a mole-like creature from the planet Tivoli.
Of course, before any of that, the show will have to resolve just how the Doctor is going to escape being turned into a ghost - the grisly fate that apparently awaited him at the close of Saturday's 'Under the Lake'.
Doctor Who continues this Saturday (October 10) at 8.25pm on BBC One.
New episode 'Before the Flood' is written by Being Human creator Toby Whithouse - reuniting with Daniel O'Hara, who previously directed 8 episodes of the BBC Three series.

A base under siege, a Peter Andre reference, and a cracking slice of old-style Doctor Who. It's our spoiler-filled review of Under The Lake.
This review contains spoilers. Our spoiler-free review is here.
9.3 Under The Lake
"This safety message was brought to you by Vector Petroleum"
Right then. There’s an isolated base, with a diverse crew on board. There’s a threat, from which there’s no obvious sign of escape. There are corridors, which are set to be run down with as much determination as you would expect. And there’s the arrival of the Doctor and his companion, just as the fit is hitting the shan.
What do you mean you’ve seen it all before?
"You actually poo-pooed the ghost theory?"
For his first Doctor Who episode following series 7’s middling A Town Called Mercy, Being Human creator Toby Whithouse has dug deep into the stylings of classic Doctor Who.

Doctor Who series 9 keeps the standard high with chilling, intriguing mystery, Under The Lake, written by Toby Whithouse...
Ah, I really loved this. Under The Lake is old school Doctor Who, using ingredients that we've seen many times before. Yet Toby Whithouse - back on Doctor Who duties for the first time since A Town Called Mercy in 2012 - brings lots of ideas of his own to a really effective episode.
It's the first of a two-parter, and, as we saw with The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar, that instantly allows space to be breathed into the story. That particularly aids a ghost story such as Under The Lake, where lots of little details are set into place, some of which the episode begins to scratch at.
Impressively, though, the episode still gets going really rather quickly. Just because the pacing is steady, too, Under The Lake is never less than interesting.

Doctor Who series nine has apparently hired its first director in Being Human's Daniel O'Hara.
O'Hara's client page on The Agency site appears to list him as director for two episodes of the BBC sci-fi drama's next run.
His credits include eight episodes of Being Human between 2011 and 2013, and three episodes of spy series The Game by Being Human creator - and Doctor Who writer - Toby Whithouse.
O'Hara also helmed four instalments of Cbbc's Wizards vs Aliens - co-created by Russell T Davies - as well as episodes of Silent Witness, Beaver Falls and Skins.
The ninth series of Doctor Who - launching on BBC One in late 2015 - will again star Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, with the latter having recently confirmed her involvement with the new episodes.
The series premiere, written by showrunner Steven Moffat, is titled 'The Magician's Apprentice'.
