Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Everything We Know About the Upcoming Hulu Reboot
Image
What Do We Know About the upcoming reboot of the classic horror series Buffy the Vampire Slayer? More than you may think. The new take on Joss Whedon’s classic vampire series has been gaining momentum with many announcements related to casting, plot, and more. With news dropping regularly, let’s dive in and look at what is coming up in the Buffy reboot.

Sarah Michelle Gellar will reprise her role as Buffy Summers.

The actress permanently associated with the title role from the long-running WB/CW series that bore her character’s name is a prominent member of the reboot’s cast. In addition to serving as executive producer, Gellar will ensure the legacy of the original series is respected in the new iteration. Gellar took to Instagram and shared a post from the table read for the series, saying, “I have always listened to the fans and heard...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale Set Video Reveals First Look At Ryan Kiera Armstrong's Slayer
Image
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, which reportedly has "New Sunnydale" as its working title, has started shooting in Los Angeles. With that comes what appears to be a first look at Star Wars: Skeleton Crew star Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the show's new lead slayer.

There have been some grumblings about the 15-year-old Armstrong being a little too young for this role, and she definitely looks like a high schooler here. However, it's worth noting that in the original series, Buffy Summers was also only meant to be 16, though Gellar was 20 at the time.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is reprising her role as Buffy in the series, which added Rakotohavana (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) as Hugo, Ava Jean (Law & Order: Svu) as Larkin, Sarah Bock (Severance) as Gracie, Daniel di Tomasso (Witches of East End) as Abe, and Jack Cutmore-Scott (Oppenheimer) as Mr. Burke earlier this week.

Watch: Sarah Michelle Gellar Trains With New Slayer in Buffy Revival Workout Video
Image
Original Buffy the Vampire Slayerstar Sarah Michelle Gellar gives fans a sneak peek at her workout routine alongside the next Slayer.

Gellar and incoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Ryan Kiera Armstrong can be seen hitting the gym with their trainer together in a video the former posted to Instagram on August 1. The behind-the-scenes video is accompanied by the simple caption, "We don't sweat... we sparkle," as well as the song "Scandal" by The Warrior (featuring Patty Smyth).

View this post on InstagramA post shared by Sarah Michelle (@sarahmgellar)

Gellar portrayed Buffy Summers, aka the Slayer or the Chosen One, throughout the entirety of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's seven-season, 144-episode run. The series, created by Joss Whedon as a reimagining of his 1992 film of the same name, quickly found its footing with audiences upon its release in 1997. Alongside Gellar, Buffy the Vampire Slayer featured an ensemble cast including Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg,...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Reboot Unveils its New Slayer's Identity
Image
Into every generation a Slayer is born, and now the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot has given her a name.

Per Deadline, Ryan Kiera Armstrong's new Slayer will be called Nova, describing her as "an introverted high-school student" who becomes the latest Chosen One to battle supernatural forces of evil. Additionally, the article confirmed actor Kingston Vernes will join the show as Nova's potential love interest Carson, a fellow student at New Sunnydale Academy who "starts noticing her after a life-changing event."

Prior to Buffy, Armstrong made appearances in shows like Anne with an E and American Horror Story: Red Tide, most recently playing At Atin resident Fern in the Star Wars pirate adventure Skeleton Crew. The actress' involvement was confirmed in May, with Sarah Michelle Gellar -- who'll reprise her role as fellow Slayer Buffy Summers -- revealing Armstrong got the part via an Instagram recording of their conversation.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Returns: Cast, Plot, and What We Know So Far
Image
Remember when a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer entered development in 2018?

That take on the beloved franchise was expected to have minimal ties to its predecessor, aiming instead for a fresh start.

As a result, it struggled to generate much buzz or excitement — and ultimately, the project quietly faded away, shelved indefinitely.

(Disney/Screenshot)

But earlier this year, in one of those pinch-me moments I rarely get as an entertainment journalist, a new Buffy project re-emerged, this time as a sequel rather than a reboot.

And the biggest surprise?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Fan-Favorite Actor Shares Disappointing Update About Returning For The Reboot
Image
Seth Green shares a disappointing update about his involvement in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. Airing from 1997-2003, Buffy the Vampire Slayer became one of the most iconic shows of its era. Sarah Michelle Gellar is confirmed to reprise her role in the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, alongside a new Slayer played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Hulu has a pilot order for the show, which will be written by Nora and Lila Zuckerman and directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao.

Green played Daniel "Oz" Osbourne for several years of the series. A recurring guest star in season 2, Green would become a full cast member in season 3. Green left Buffy the Vampire Slayer early in season 4 to pursue other opportunities, and returned for two additional episodes, although one was just for a dream sequence.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Green reveals that he has not been contacted about returning as Oz.

The Wheel of Time book club: The Last Battle approaches in Towers of Midnight
Image
The calm before the storm.

Towers of Midnight, the penultimate book in the 14-volume Wheel of Time series, might be the strangest installment of them all. With the Last Battle drawing closer, the main protagonist, Rand al’Thor, is barely seen, though his presence is felt throughout the book.

This book is about preparing different characters for their roles in the upcoming battle with the Dark One and his minions. Unfortunately, the story, especially regarding Perrin, seems to drag to a halt sometimes. More on that later.

After totally ignoring the Black Tower storyline for several books, readers finally get a long-overdue, much too brief check-in. Aviendha, who was sent to Rhuidean fairly early in The Gathering Storm, seemed forgotten by Brandon Sanderson. Finally, late in Towers of Midnight, she gets a big moment as she sees one possible future in the crystal columns of the ancient Aiel city.

The Biggest Anime of 2025 Is Topping Netflix's Charts With a Surprising Streak
Image
Anime fans knew Dandadan had potential, but few expected it to explode this quickly. Since the release of its second season, the supernatural action-romance has dominated Netflix’s global streaming charts, making an impression that even mainstream audiences cannot ignore. Its mix of chaotic energy, endearing characters, and bold animation has clearly struck a nerve.

While other anime often take weeks to build momentum, Dandadan rocketed into Netflix's Global Top 10 and stayed there for four consecutive days and counting, according to @FlixPatrol on X. That kind of consistency is rare, even for household names like Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen. Something about this title is hitting just right in 2025.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has never shied away from painting its demons as terrifying, tragic, and unbelievably powerful. But among them, the Upper Moons stand at the very top, who have lived for centuries and left a trail of countless fallen Hashira in their wake. With the series approaching its final arc through a trilogy of movies, now is the perfect time to revisit who these Upper Moons and their coming replacements are.

The primary antagonists of the Entertainment District Arc were this deranged sibling pair. Although he frequently concealed himself inside his sister Daki, who seduced victims with her beauty, Gyutaro was the Upper Rank Six with his poisoned sickles and distorted strength. Gojira, Pantera, and Slayer Bring the Metal at Final Black Sabbath Concert
Image
Three of the most powerful metal bands on the planet were among the acts to perform at the “Back to the Beginning” final Black Sabbath concert on Saturday (July 5th) in Birmingham, England, as Gojira, Pantera, and Slayer all delivered electrifying sets.

Gojira performed “Stranded,” “Silvera,” and their Olympics song “Mea Culpa” with opera singer Marina Viotti before closing with a cover of Sabbath’s “Under the Sun.” Meanwhile, Pantera came out swinging with a 1-2 punch of their own classics “Cowboys From Hell” and “Walk,” before taking on two Sabbath songs: “Planet Caravan” (which they famously covered on their album Far Beyond Driven) and “Electric Funeral.”

Slayer, who reunited to play select shows last year, kicked off their set with “Disciple” and “War Ensemble” before covering Sabbath’s “Wicked World.” The legendary thrash act then played “South of Heaven,” “Raining Blood,” and “Angel of Death” to close out their performance,...

‘Demon Slayer’ Failed Zenitsu Into Becoming Its Most Controversial Character
Image
Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer is once again making an epic comeback with the new anime film called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle, which is scheduled for release in theatres on September 12. The movie will mark the beginning of the final saga, which has been anticipated by fans for a long time.

The Demon Slayer film will feature a lot of enticing battles and character developments, but the one that fans are most excited about is Zenitsu Agatsuma. Zenitsu is one of the most important characters in the series, but he is always undermined in terms of development and when compared to other Demon Slayer characters.

It has reached a point where he has received the tag of a pervert, even though he is not. Thus, the upcoming Demon Slayer film needs to do better in terms of Zenitsu’s portrayal within the narrative.

Demon Slayer: One Upper Moon Would Have Made a Better Final Villain Than Muzan
Image
While Demon Slayer is full of demons who leave no stones unturned to make the lives of innocent humans a living hell, the main antagonist, Muzan Kibutsuji, takes the cake.

The shape-shifting, Michael Jackson look-alike progenitor of the demon clan in the series is as ferocious as he is intimidating. Not only because of the power he has accumulated throughout the centuries, but also because of his single-minded pursuit of eternity.

However, there was another demon in the series whose motivations and path were vastly different from his. Although he never got the recognition he truly deserved, in hindsight, he probably would have made a better villain than Muzan in Demon Slayer.

Kokushibo Would Have Made A Better Final Villain In Demon Slayer

There was one demon in Demon Slayer who could have given Muzan a run for his money, not only in strength, but also in character depth. Although...

Bethesda Has Found the Perfect Role for Reacher’s Most Terrifying Villain
Image
It’s not every day that we see an actor post a video on social media, and it immediately gives gamers reason to believe a casting decision has practically made itself. But Olivier Richters just did exactly that. With Bethesda’s Doom: The Dark Ages becoming the fastest-growing launch in id Software’s history, we may have just found the perfect actor for the Doom guy.

Richters, now known for his appearance this year on Amazon Prime’s Reacher, posted a video edit of him putting on the iconic armor of the Doom Slayer. And we gotta say, it works very well. So much so that if there ever were a live-action adaptation, we’d definitely need him.

If Bethesda ever adapts the Doom franchise, we need this actor

Sarah Michelle Gellar Wants to ‘Bring Back Everyone Who Has Died’ on ‘Buffy’ for the Reboot
Image
Sarah Michelle Gellar wants to bring back the dead for the new “Buffy” reboot series. Gellar, who reprises the role of Buffy Summers for the Hulu pilot, said during the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival that she is determined to have her fellow alums return — even if their characters already died onscreen.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” aired on the WB for five seasons from 1997 to 2001 before moving to Upn for two more seasons. The series landed spinoff “Angel” from 1999 to 2004. Yet the revival — which is still at the pilot stage and hasn’t been greenlit to series just yet — will be different in tone from the franchise predecessors.

“It will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original,” Gellar said, as translated by Vanity Fair. “We will try to find a balance between new and old characters. My dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space...

‘Demon Slayer’ Is Great But I Can’t Forgive How Undermined Nezuko Is
Image
We mean, look, Demon Slayer is amazing. The animation? God-tier. The fights? Unreal. The vibes? Immaculate. And it kicks off with so much emotional heft: Tanjiro loses his family, his sister becomes a demon, and somehow, she doesn’t kill him. That moment? Instant chills.

And yet, amidst all this brilliance lies one of the show’s most glaring missteps, Nezuko Kamado’s treatment as a character. Nezuko could have been one of the coolest emotional anchors on the show. But instead? She gets stuffed in a box and used like a demonic Swiss Army knife. She’s cute. She’s strong. But her character development? Barely.

Demon Slayer turned Nezuko into a mascot and called it a day

Let’s be honest: Demon Slayer turned Nezuko into a brand. She’s the face of the franchise, but not the soul. And yeah, her appearance is great. She’s adorable,...

Netflix's Highly-Anticipated Horror 'The Summer Hikaru Died' Unveils Gruesome New Trailer
Image
Surprisingly, horror and anime don't blend together very well. Many major attempts to adapt some of the best horror manga have ended poorly, with fans finding the anime adaptations lackluster and, worst of all, laughable. But this Summer anime season, Netflix is here to make that right with its newest horror series, The Summer Hikaru Died. The manga of the same by Mokumokuren, which was only first published in 2021, has become a phenomenon among manga readers. The Summer Hikaru Died is one of Summer 2025's most anticipated releases, even against shonen giants like Dandadan, Demon Slayer, Kaiju No. 8, and Chainsaw Man (all of which release new seasons/movies this Summer season), and the new trailer proves exactly why fans are se excited to see the anime adaptation.

The Summer Hikaru Died is gearing up for its Summer release on July 5, and its newest trailer might be the spookiest and goriest one yet.

Demon Slayer Trivia: Why Does Zenitsu Only Fight When Asleep? Mystery Of Thunder Breathing Technique Explained
Image
How Does Zenitsu Fight While Asleep In Demon Slayer? ( Photo Credit – Facebook )

Demon Slayer introduces a wide range of powerful and memorable characters, among them is Zenitsu Agatsuma, a name that sticks not just because of his loud personality but also because of how strangely effective he is in battle.

Zenitsu’s Strange Transformation In Demon Slayer

In the breathtaking anime series, Zenitsu seems hopeless at first glance. He is nervous, anxious, and constantly looking for a way out, and honestly, he appears to be the least capable of the group. However, that changes the moment he faints. Whenever fear takes over and knocks him out, something unusual happens. His body shifts into a deadly combat mode, far from the fearful mess everyone sees when he’s awake.

Zenitsu uses Thunder Breathing, a combat technique that focuses on speed and power. Most users of this style learn several forms, but Zenitsu only uses—or,...

The Better Sister Review: Jessica Biel & Elizabeth Banks mix sibling rivalry with murder in an engaging yet distracting whodunit
Image
Plot: Chloe (Jessica Biel) navigates life with husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan) while her sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) battles addiction. Adam’s murder unveils long-hidden family secrets, shaking their world.

Review: Sibling rivalry is a concept as old as time. In extreme cases, duos like Cain and Abel, the Boleyn sisters, and Liam and Noah Gallagher of Oasis come to mind. People say blood runs thicker than water, but it’s difficult to see the forest for the trees when the floodgates burst. In rare cases, a heartfelt chat over a glass of wine or beer can resolve most issues. However, when a decades-long rift is made deeper by murder, there isn’t enough Cabernet Sauvignon or IPAs to repair the widening damage.

In The Better Sister, created by Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado, based on the novel by Alafair Burke, Chloe (Jessica Biel) and...

Original Buffy Stars Confirm Reboot Will Honor Michelle Trachtenberg
Image
Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans recieved unexpected news over the past few months. First, a big announcement confirmed that Buffy was getting a reboot. Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy Summers would mentor a new Slayer, and the Buffyverse would finally be back on the small screen.

It was later shared that Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Buffy's sister Dawn in Buffy, passed away from complications of diabetes mellitus. Trachtenberg's passing had some Buffy fans questioning what would happen to Dawn in the series reboot.

In an interview with Parade, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan were asked if the show planned to honor Trachtenberg in any way. “Yeah, we'll do something. We'll do what's appropriate," Hannigan added, “I'm sure they'll handle it with utter grace," Gellar said,

Both Gellar and Hannigan paid tribute to Trachtenberg on social media when she passed away in February. Gellar posted a picture of herself and...

‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ Review: Bethesda’s Medieval Prequel Is a Heavy Metal Thud
Image
It’s impossible to talk about id Software’s Doom: The Dark Ages without tipping one’s hat to the 2016 reboot that redefined the series. That game reintroduced the Doom Slayer as an absurd, unflinching juggernaut—bursting from a sarcophagus, tearing zombies limb from limb in a scientific lab overrun by Satan, with a security monitor to the side flashing “Demonic Invasion in Progress,” hilariously implying that this happens on the regular. The game blended satirical bravado with breakneck, fluid combat across its engaging narrative.

By contrast, 2020’s Doom Eternal stacked an unnecessary mechanical complexity upon the foundation set up by the reboot’s robust and open combat system. Where Doom was empowering and accessible, Eternal was rigid and demanding. Worse, the new writers brought onboard decided that Doom’s preposterous mythology was to be taken seriously, and as such Doom Eternal lost the self-awareness that made the 2016 game such a breath of fresh air.

Small but Brilliant ‘Doom Eternal’ Detail Is Why I’m Planning a Maximum Carnage Run In ‘The Dark Ages’
Image
The Slayer is back in Doom: The Dark Ages to wage war against the medieval forces of hell and rip apart horrors beyond comprehension limb from limb. It’s always a joy to go back to that world and kill demons. Sounds a little psychotic, but trust me, it’s honestly therapeutic as it greatly helps in anger management.

What makes the Doom series one of the greatest Fps franchises is its attention to detail and, of course, its high-octane gameplay. Speaking of details, a fan noticed a never-before-seen detail in Doom Eternal’s full cover art that’ll simultaneously warm your heart and make you mad. After seeing it, I can’t wait to murder every demon in the way, no matter how fodder they are.

Doom Eternal’s cover art features an adorable tribute to the Slayer’s pet rabbit The Slayer did what any pet owner would...

Sarah Michelle Gellar Says Children Of Og ‘Buffy’ Stars Auditioned For Reboot
Image
For every generation, there is a Slayer star’s kid attempting to break into Hollywood.

After revealing Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the star of the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, Sarah Michelle Gellar recently teased that several children of her co-stars from the original WB/Upn series “came in” to audition for the revival as she reunited with castmate Alyson Hannigan.

“I know somebody who auditioned for something on the show,” said Hannigan in their interview for Us Weekly, to which Gellar responded, “I know somebody who was on the show whose child auditioned on the show. I know a few people from the show whose children came in.”

Hannigan joked, “It better not have been one of my kids!”

Deadline exclusively revealed this week that Armstrong will play the new Slayer in the untitled Buffyverse project, which Gellar executive produces in addition to reprising her titular role as Buffy Summers.

‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ Is a Gloriously Violent But Somewhat Tired Prequel
Image
“Rip and tear, until it is done.”

This is the line that opens id Software’s duology of modern Doom games: Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal (2020). It’s a creepy, campy narration meant to set the tone for not-quite-horror games with horrific settings. But it’s also a mission statement — players should be expecting a visceral thrill ride of blasting, bloodletting, and shredding things up with reckless abandon.

By contrast, Doom: The Dark Ages opens with a text wall laid over black, filling in some lore about the eponymous Doom Slayer...

Demon Slayer: The Best Thing Muzan Did Was to Give Us a Better Female Character Than Shinobu
Image
While Demon Slayer gets celebrated for its phenomenal animation and entertaining storylines, there’s another aspect that makes the show so popular. That is, of course, its diverse range of characters.

While it has pure evil personified when it comes to a few of the demons, the show also portrays how differently humans cope with trauma through the severely distinguished personalities of the Demon Slayer Corps members. Interestingly, though, a few characters defy this boundary frequently. That is, there are a few demons who touch the fans’ hearts and get humanized due to their backstories.

There is, however, a character who not only defies but completely shatters that boundary by being someone who belongs to both groups at once. In fact, the character in question might be one of the best-written characters from Demon Slayer, far surpassing even Shinobu Kocho.

Lady Tamayo far surpasses Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer

“It’s a more streamlined, ergonomic control scheme”: Doom: The Dark Ages Controls Are Designed to Not Be a Button-Smasher Like Eternal
Image
If you’ve ever played Doom Eternal, you know the finger gymnastics required to survive its demon hordes. Between weapon swapping, dashing, flame belching, and glory killing—often within milliseconds—it sometimes felt like you needed extra fingers.

But now, with Doom: The Dark Ages mere days away (early access starting later today for Premium Edition owners), id Software has completely reimagined how players interact with the Slayer’s arsenal.

Instead of spreading abilities across every button on your controller, the team has built a more intuitive system around three core mechanics that work together harmoniously. It’s a bold departure that might just make this medieval hellscape more accessible without sacrificing the depth that made Eternal so rewarding.

How Doom: The Dark Ages discards the idea of button-mashing

The most significant change in Doom: The Dark Ages is how id Software has consolidated multiple actions under a single button.

$61M Patrick Swayze Movie Was a “Big Source of Inspiration” for Doom: The Dark Ages, Eternal, 2016
Image
The wait for Doom: The Dark Ages is almost over, with its launch set for May 15th. Once again, id Software is looking to redefine demon-slaying mayhem. Armed with medieval weaponry, gothic landscapes, and a heavy dose of storytelling, this new chapter promises a bold, single-player adventure.

With no multiplayer component, the game dives deeper into narrative than ever before. Drawing from a wide range of classic movies to shape its dark fantasy world and mythic hero’s journey, the team has woven together some surprising influences.

The surprising movie that helped shape Doom: The Dark Ages

In a recent interview with Vice, id Software’s Hugo Martin and Marty Stratton shared some insights on the project’s development and how it all took shape. While fans of Doom 2016 and Eternal know that the series often draws from classic action movies.

However, with the shift to a darker, fantasy-driven setting,...

Witness The Gory Action in the ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ Launch Trailer [Video]
Doom (2005)
It won’t be long before players will be able to rip and tear huge guts in Doom: The Dark Ages. Ahead of the game’s launch on May 15, Bethesda and id Software have released the customary launch trailer for the single-player focused Fps.

Doom: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal that tells the epic cinematic origin story of the Doom Slayer’s rage. In this third installment of the modern Doom series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the Doom Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.

As the super weapon of gods and kings, you’ll shred enemies with devastating favorites like the Super Shotgun while also wielding a variety of new bone-chewing weapons, including the new Shield Saw. Players will stand and fight on the demon-infested battlefields in the vicious, grounded combat the original Doom is famous for.

Is Doom: The Dark Ages a Prequel or Sequel? The Slayer Timeline, Explained
Image
The Doom franchise is legendary for its crazy gameplay that lets us experience some of the most violent alien slaying in the gaming industry. But aside from just that, the lore of the franchise has also been pretty badass, and Doom: The Dark Ages is going to expand on a lot when it comes out on May 15.

Ahead of the game’s release, one of the biggest questions seems to be where this new chapter fits into the Doom timeline. Is it a continuation of Doom Eternal, or a prequel? According to id Software and several previews, The Dark Ages is a full-blown prequel where we’ll see exactly how the Slayer becomes the character we saw in Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal.

'Limited Edition Collectibles That Are Actually Limited': Funko Has Positive Changes for Anime Fans Amid Tariff Price Hikes
Image
Love them or hate them, Funko Pop! figures have become something of a cultural icon in the last decade, ever since the original line of Funko Pop! figures hit shelves in 2010. What originally started as a somewhat self-contained line of pop culture figures has since expanded to be a ubiquitous line of chibi-style collectibles, often revolving around some of the biggest anime franchises, such as Demon Slayer, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen and more.

With the looming changes in the world with the introduction of the rising tariffs, growing shipping costs and the ever-increasing cost of raw materials, Funko has released a statement on its official blog regarding some of the changes that are hitting its products. The most immediate takeaway from the post is that standard POPs! will be seeing a price increase in July from $12 to $14.99 for their suggested retail price, while other products across Funko, Loungefly and Mondo...

Demon Slayer: One Villain Got the Short End of the Stick Despite Upper Moons Having Better Backstories Than Most Characters
Image
Demon Slayer follows a curious format in which the side characters are often more likable than the main cast. The Hashiras often outshine the Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke trio. And weirdly enough, the Upper Moons are also more interesting than the main villain, Muzan. Most Demon Slayer characters are extremely well-written except…Gyokko.

Gyokko is supposed to be a powerful demon in the series, but instead, he just seems like a fever-dream who came out of nowhere. He is just a weird guy who put fans in an awkward position.

Gyokko was the least impressive Upper Moon in Demon Slayer

Yes, the Upper Moons are meant to be hated, and Demon Slayer did a great job at making them evil. Each of the Upper Moons is unique, with flashy powers and unique character designs. Each of them poses a different type of threat, which makes their battles extremely intriguing. This...

'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Reboot Star Sarah Michelle Gellar Debunks Character Rumor & Explains Why She Returned
Image
It seems that some recent revelations about the upcoming Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot are being staked through the heart by returning star Sarah Michelle Gellar. The actress is reprising her role as the former Slayer in a new sequel/reboot of the popular supernatural drama series, and in a recent interview she slayed one recent update on the new show, but offered plenty for fans to get their teeth into.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003, leading to the companion series Angel, and creating a legacy that continues to endure over 20 years later. The series starred Gellar as Buffy Summers, with an ensemble of support from a mostly young and unknown cast including David Boreanaz, James Marsters, Allison Hannigan, Charisma Carpenter, and the late Michelle Trachtenberg, as well as Anthony Stewart Head as the level-headed Watcher, Giles. Now a new Slayer will rise, but it...

Demon Slayer’s Gentle Giant: The Heartbreaking Reason Why Gyomei Himejima Is Always In Tears
Image
Everything you need to know about Demon Slayer’s Gyomei Himejima(Photo Credit –Demon Slayer/X)

In the world of Demon Slayer, few figures tower higher, both in spirit and form, than Gyomei Himejima. The character, renowned among fans as the Strongest Hashira, is a character stitched together with the rough fabric of power and the soft threads of endless sorrow.

His towering presence in battle, shattering demons with sheer raw force, earned him respect and fear alike, yet it was the silent rivers constantly spilling from his eyes that truly carved a space for him in people’s hearts.

A Gentle Guardian Before the Battles Began

Gyomei was not always the warrior cloaked in might. His story traces back to a quiet temple, where he lived a life far removed from the blood and chaos of demon hunting. Despite being blind, he became a gentle guardian for nine orphans,...

Slayer’s Kerry King Performs Entrance Song for Damian Priest at WrestleMania: Watch
Image
Slayer legend Kerry King made an in-person appearance to help guide Damian Priest to the ring with some fiery guitarwork during WrestleMania 41 on Sunday (April 20th) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

King performed guitar on the latest version of Priest’s entrance song “Rise for the Night,” released last November, and the thrash metal axeman consummated the collab at Wrestlemania, appearing alongside Priest for his walk to the ring before a match against rival Drew McIntyre.

The walkout actually looked a lot like something from a Slayer concert, with massive pyrotechnics and Priest’s heavy metal-style logo appearing on a massive screen as he makes his way down the ramp.

While having the Slayer shredder in tow was certainly a flex, Priest’s performance in the ring was anticlimactic, as the Scottish vet McIntyre — who had a very metal entrance of his own that was...

Neither Chainsaw Man nor Kaiju No. 8 Make It to Japan’s Top 10 Shonen Series for New Gen Fans
Image
Chainsaw Man and Kaiju No. 8 have made waves among shonen fans in the last couple of years. While their manga series have long been appreciated for their unique premises and innovative battle sequences, the anime adaptations, obviously, took their fame to another level.

Interestingly, although millions of fans worldwide have praised both series left, right, and center, the Japanese fans seem to be of a different mind. As neither Chainsaw Man nor Kaiju No. 8 could make a place in the top 10 ranking of shonen series in the 2020s.

Chainsaw Man and Kaiju No. 8 fail to rank among the most loved shonen series of the 2020s

With the Isekai genre already deteriorating, and Shojo and Seinen still somewhat catering to niche audiences, Shonen series are proving to be the rockstars of the 2020s. As such, even though the decade is only at its middle point, Goo Ranking decided...

Michelle Trachtenberg Cause Of Death Revealed
Image
We have a cause of death for former Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg.

Following a review of laboratory test results, it was determined that Trachtenberg died naturally as a result of complications from diabetes mellitus, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner told Deadline in a statement.

Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her midtown Manhattan apartment February 26. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. No foul was suspected. She was 39.

The coroner’s office initially said her cause of death would remain undetermined because the family had requested that no autopsy be conducted because of religious reasons. The medical examiner’s office would automatically do an autopsy if foul play or criminality was suspected, but there was none, so the office did not overrule the family’s decision. Following the lab test results, the medical examiner’s office amended the cause of death.

Muzan Kibutsuji Unmasked: Demon Slayer’s Prime Villain Hid Behind A Thousand Faces & Countless Murders
Image
Muzan Disguises Demon Slayer Twist(Photo Credit –Twitter)

For over a thousand years, a shadow moved silently through the fabric of society—sometimes as a grieving widow’s husband, sometimes a dignified child or sometimes a mysterious geisha.

However, beneath these borrowed faces, hid the same sinister entity: Muzan Kibutsuji, the origin of all demons and a being utterly obsessed with perfection.

Muzan Kibutsuji: A Body Molded by Will

Cunning as he was ancient, Muzan’s genius wasn’t just in his power, but in his ability to hide. His one true weakness, sunlight, kept him from revealing his monstrous self and so he slithered through human society by becoming them.

In the bustling streets of Taisho-era Tokyo, he wore western suits and rode in a luxurious car, his sharp eyes masked by the gentle smile of a man called Tsukihiko. To the woman by his side, Rei, and their seemingly happy daughter,...

‘The Wheel of Time’ Star Marcus Rutherford Unpacks the Battle of Emond’s Field, That Unexpected Death
Image
Note: The following story contains spoilers from “The Wheel of Time” Season 3 Episode 7

“The Wheel of Time” went big for the penultimate episode of Season 3 as war came to the Two Rivers.

Season 3, Episode 7 of Prime Video’s fantasy adaptation spent the entire episode brutally bringing to life one of the most iconic battles from Robert Jordan’s novels – the Battle of Emond’s Field. Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) returned home hoping to find some peace and instead found his village beset by Trollocs – vicious animal-like monsters – and Darkfriends, those who support the return of the Dark One. He spent most of the season preparing Emond’s Field’s residents for an inevitable fight – and the show spared no expense bringing the battle to life.

“We’ve done battles before in Season 1 and 2, but there’s a lot of narrative that has to go through them,” Rutherford told TheWrap. “Like we...

‘Demon Slayer’ Outdid Itself With Shonen’s Tragic Characters Through Kyojuro Rengoku

Demon Slayer has its fair share of compelling characters, and it is a major reason why this is one of the most loved shonen anime out there, right now. From the sweetheart protagonist, Tanjiro, to his adorable yet demon sister, Nezuko, the series is packed with characters who just amaze us in the best sort of way.

But then comes Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, who has somehow managed to steal the show owing to all sorts of reasons, particularly his tragic story. This guy is a cannonball with a backdrop of a flamethrower, both physically and metaphorically, and his story punches you right in the feels.

This is not to be another hero, but a tragic one, which is what sets Demon Slayer apart from the shonen pack. He isn’t just there for those demon-slaying games—he’s the embodiment of heart and duty,...

‘Demon Slayer’ Missed Out on Making Its Epilogue Impactful Because of a Minor Issue
Image
Demon Slayer wrapped up its story with a beautiful epilogue, which went on to showcase a peaceful world and descendants of beloved characters. It showed a pleasant end to all the conflict and was meant to be an emotional payoff.

The epilogue was the viewers’ one chance to reflect on everything lost and gained and a testament to how time continues to flow. But something felt missing in the epilogue; it didn’t feel as impactful as it should, even if it did provide some relief.

Kamado Tanjiro from Demon Slayer [Credits: Ufotable]

A key reason for this disconnect lies in the series’ treatment of its core relationships. Although the future was depicted beautifully, it didn’t seem right as the relationships were not properly cultivated. Even Tanjiro and Kanao’s bond, being at the core, did not get many highs.

The ending could have been much more impactful
