Taylor Sheridan is always looking for new ways to expand his television empire on Paramount+, but the last movie directed by the Yellowstone creator has returned to streaming charts just a few years later. Sheridan directed Those Who Wish Me Dead in 2021, the psychological thriller following a Montana survival expert who is tasked with protecting a child on the run. Those Who Wish Me Dead is streaming on HBO Max globally, and it is one of the top 10 most popular movies in countries such as the Netherlands and Ukraine. Taylor Sheridan's film hit theaters during the Covid-19 pandemic and still grossed $19 million at the box office, but budget information for the film is not available. Those Who Wish Me Dead earned 63% from critics and 86% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Like many a horror film before it, Vile asks the age-old question: “How far would you go to stay alive?” In this case our eight protagonists, all of whom are kidnapped, have tubes attached to their brains and then locked in an abandoned house, are tasked with seeing how much pain and torture they can take, if it means living so see another day.

Vile was our late-night film on the second day of Frightfest this year and it claimed to be a hybrid of Cube, Saw and Hostel. But let’s make something clear, it has none of the verve or intellect of the former two titles and little of the polish of the latter. It’s merely yet another stupid, brain-dead, ugly little film where a bunch of people (mostly strangers) wake up in a room (which in this instance turns out to be a house) and they are forced to hurt each other in an attempt to win their freedom. There’s no twist here or extra-layer of invention, the bunch of unlikeable protagonists are all encumbered with a pair of tubes and vials that are attached...

Sci-fi review and news site Quiet Earth has debuted the official trailer for Vile, which will show at the Film 4 Frightfest in London, England. Vile is partially based on the Milgram experiments, in which participants were encouraged to shock another volunteer (actually a confederate). Some people, when told to, will shock others to death. Thankfully, this experiment was only a simulation, but the trailer for Vile shows realistically that most of humanity will do almost anything to another e.g. torture, if instructed by a higher authority.

Torture porn. People are still making these movies. Even more perplexing people are still watching these movies. Still, every now and again a good one comes around. Let's just hope the new flick from Taylor Sheridan, Vile, is one of the good ones.

The search for his true identity is over. ABC Family network has axed "Kyle Xy" from their show line-up, it has been confirmed.

There was no reason given for the show's termination, although its dwindling ratings seem to be the reason. The third season premiered on January 12 with just a total of 1.5 million viewers. Its final episode will air on March 16.

ABC Family president Paul Lee said in a statement, "ABC Family is coming off its best year ever, including the summer breakout hit 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.' We're thrilled to be adding three new original series, drama and comedy, all of them the sort of great optimistic millennial storytelling that Abd Family does best."

Kyle Xy centers around a young man (Matt Dallas) who wakes up in the middle of a Seattle forest -- naked and without a memory. The police call psychologist Nicole Trager (Marguerite MacIntyre) for assistance and she ends up bringing him home. Her husband (Bruce Thomas), daughter (April Matson), and son (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) immediately take to "Kyle" and make him part of the family. He shows incredible intelligence and physical abilities that lead them to realize there's far more to Kyle than meets the eye. The mysterious Kyle and his missing belly button will be back for another season on ABC Family.

The cable network has greenlighted a third season of Kyle XY, ordering 10 new episodes from ABC Studios. A start date has not yet been determined because the series is now in production on the back-10 episodes of Season 2.

Kyle XY stars Matt Dallas as the title character, who one day walked out of the woods totally innocent of the complexities of human behavior. Kyle has come to accept that he has special capabilities and is determined to understand and use them wisely.

The series, which in July won an award from the Television Critics Assn., also stars Marguerite MacIntyre, Bruce Thomas, April Matson, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Chris Olivero, Kirsten Prout and Jaimie Alexander.

The sophomore season of Kyle XY. has improved over year-ago time-period levels by 8% in adults 18-34 (333,000 vs. 308,000) and by 2% in women 18-34 (209,000 vs.

ABC Family has picked up 10 more one-hour episodes of its original series Kyle XY, bringing the total to 23 for its sophomore season.

"We have been delighted with the new episodes, and we're thrilled to be able to extend Season 2," ABC Family president Paul Lee said. " 'Kyle XY' is the highest-rated show ever on ABC Family; it is truly the show that has defined this network."

Kyle, which airs at 8 p.m. Monday, chronicles the experiences of a mysterious teenager (Matt Dallas) with no history or memory. Marguerite MacIntyre, Bruce Thomas and April Matson also star. The second season, produced by ABC Studios, will introduce some of the truth about Kyle's past and his remarkable abilities. The new episodes are set to air early next year.

Kyle XY was created by Eric Bress and J. Mackeye Gruber (Butterfly Effect, Final Destination 2) and is executive produced by Chris Bender, J.C. Spink, Eric Tuchman and David Himelfarb.
