- Holds a B.A. in Theatre and a B.A. in Music, both from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

- Awarded the Lucie Bentley Award For Excellence In Acting by the Department of Theatre and Dance, University of Hawaii at Manoa (May 2002).
- The first role he ever played on stage was that of "Lucky" in Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.
- Nominated for a 2015 Desert Star Award for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama - Professional" for his performance of the one-man play, Hold These Truths: The Journey of Gordon Hirabayashi. The Desert Star Awards are sponsored by the Desert Theatre League, which represents Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley in California, USA.
