British actor Jessica Madsen, known for her role as the snarky debutante Cressida Cowper in Netflix’s Bridgerton, has secured a leading role in a new historical drama series from Prime Video. Per Deadline, Madsen will star opposite Xavier Molyneaux (Neighbours) in Bloodaxe, a new drama series from Vikings creator Michael Hirst and his son Horatio Hirst.

Madsen will portray a character named Gunnhild, who is the wife of Molyneaux’s Erik Bloodaxe. Gunnhild is also known as the Mother of Kings. Bloodaxe will focus on the rise of Erik Bloodaxe, a famous 10th-century Norse raider, and his mighty wife. Madsen has also starred in Rambo: Last Blood (2019) alongside Sylvester Stallone and Leatherface (2017).

Benedict Bridgerton's time to shine is almost here as Bridgerton Season 4 is getting closer. Although Netflix doesn't plan to release the new season until 2026, the streamer has revealed an exciting filming update.

Bridgerton Season 4, which Netflix confirmed would be Benedict's season, has wrapped filming. The series, which adapts Julia Quinn's book series of the same name following the high-society Bridgerton family and its eight siblings, switched the adaptation order for Season 3, which should've been Benedict's season, to Penelope and Colin. On Friday, Netflix posted a video online revealing before and after shots of the cast members in and out of costume after completing their scenes.

It was a shock that Arcane ended its critically acclaimed run in just two seasons. After it aired in 2021, it gave gamers hope that adaptations of popular gaming titles could be good. While it is unfortunate that this story ended in 2024, showrunner Christian Linke shared what he wanted to achieve for the show's last hurrah, which was giving all the characters an ending.

In an interview with Deadline, Linke was asked what he wanted to enhance from Season 1. He said he wanted to see how these character stories ended. He wanted to shine a spotlight on the relationships the different characters had in the series, answer some lingering questions that Season 1 left behind, and weave them into the show's overall narrative.

"I think a lot of the character arcs that we set up, we felt like we needed to see the end of them. It’s really about the relationships between characters.

If there is one thing that Arcane is known for, it was able to craft meaningful stories for some League of Legends characters and champions that stay true to what was shown in the game but also something that audiences wanted to see. And according to showrunner Christian Linke, the show needed to find a balance, especially regarding Vi and Jinx.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Linke explained the balance needed to craft Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx's (Ella Purnell) stories. According to him, these two needed to showcase their fighting ability, which players see in the game, and craft a universal story that not only attracts viewers but is also authentic to the fans watching the show. In addition, he also revealed that they took into account player behavior when it came to character planning as part of their mission of authenticity.

The Regency era romance series has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6 at Netflix, the streamer announced Wednesday during its upfront presentation in New York City. Netflix also announced that Season 4 will debut in 2026, but did not specify any specific release window beyond that.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 debuted in two parts in May and June 2024, respectively, while Season 2 premiered in March 2022 and Season 1 debuted in December 2020, so a spring or summer release for Season 4 looks likely. After the United Kingdom Supreme Court declared this week that trans women are not legally women, multiple actors in the Harry Potter universe signed an open letter supporting trans rights.
