Bridgerton Season 4 Filming Wrap Announced In BTS Video With A Penelope Detail That Has Fans Excited
Image
Netflix has celebrated Bridgerton season 4's production wrap with a new BTS video, featuring a blink-and-you'll miss-it detail about Penelope's continued role in the story. Bridgerton season 4 will finally put second son Benedict (Luke Thompson) in the romantic spotlight, as he falls in love with a mysterious masked woman at his mother's famous masquerade ball. Though Benedict and his Cinderella-esque love, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), will be the biggest focus of Bridgerton's and London's upcoming season, the rest of the Bridgerton clan will still have their parts to play, too.

This includes Nicola Coughlan's Penelope, who found her happy ending with Benedict's younger brother, Colin (Luke Newton), in Bridgerton season 3. The Bridgerton season 4 BTS wrap video shows nearly all the show's major cast members, including newcomers like Yerin Ha, Michelle Mao, Isabella Wei, Katie Leung, and Masali Baduza, changing from their elaborate Regency-era costumes into their present-day (and infinitely more comfortable) clothes.

“We Needed To See the End": 'Arcane' Showrunner Reveals Why the Show Only Had 2 Seasons
Image
It was a shock that Arcane ended its critically acclaimed run in just two seasons. After it aired in 2021, it gave gamers hope that adaptations of popular gaming titles could be good. While it is unfortunate that this story ended in 2024, showrunner Christian Linke shared what he wanted to achieve for the show's last hurrah, which was giving all the characters an ending.

In an interview with Deadline, Linke was asked what he wanted to enhance from Season 1. He said he wanted to see how these character stories ended. He wanted to shine a spotlight on the relationships the different characters had in the series, answer some lingering questions that Season 1 left behind, and weave them into the show's overall narrative.

"I think a lot of the character arcs that we set up, we felt like we needed to see the end of them. It’s really about the relationships between characters.

“Different Levels of Authenticity”: How ‘Arcane’s Showrunner Made Sure Vi and Jinx’s Abilities Felt True to 'League of Legends'
Image
If there is one thing that Arcane is known for, it was able to craft meaningful stories for some League of Legends characters and champions that stay true to what was shown in the game but also something that audiences wanted to see. And according to showrunner Christian Linke, the show needed to find a balance, especially regarding Vi and Jinx.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Linke explained the balance needed to craft Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx's (Ella Purnell) stories. According to him, these two needed to showcase their fighting ability, which players see in the game, and craft a universal story that not only attracts viewers but is also authentic to the fans watching the show. In addition, he also revealed that they took into account player behavior when it came to character planning as part of their mission of authenticity.

"On one hand there was the character story,...

Hating Sophie in Bridgerton Was Araminta’s Only Win For One Reason, and It’s Not Benedict
Image
If Julia Quinn created a fairy tale land in the Bridgerton universe, Sophie Beckett is its Cinderella. No Cinderella story has ever been complete with an evil stepmother, and for Sophie, it was Araminta Gunningworth

As the Bridgerton book readers are already aware, our heroine won the heart of Benedict Bridgerton in the third book of the series, An Offer From A Gentleman.

Yet like any other classical love story, Sophie’s life is also full of challenges, and for her, most of them are created by her stepmother, Araminta. While the fictional antagonists seldom require any reason to hate a character, Araminta’s hatred for Sophie arises from a deep-seated psychology that goes beyond the apparent causes.

Araminta’s reason for hating Sophie stems from jealousy and, somewhat, insecurity

To understand Araminta, Lady Penwood’s hatred for Sophie, it is imperative to know first about Sophie’s origin. According to the books,...

"There Is Crossover Between Realities": 'Arcane' Season 2 Producer Dishes on Whether Powder and Ekko's Romantic Feelings Always Existed
Image
Netflix's award-winning League of Legends series Arcane is full of tragedy, but Season 2 added a whole new layer to the heartbreak with a glimpse into a reality with a better fate for one of its leads. In the episode "Pretend Like It’s the First Time,” the revolutionary leader Ekko (Reed Shannon) travels to a different world where his childhood friend Powder never falls in with the crime lord Silco (Jason Spisak) and becomes the chaotic Jinx (Ella Purnell). Instead, Powder and Ekko are dating, and with peace between Piltover and Zaun, and Vander (Jb Blanc) still alive, there appears to be a bright future ahead for both of them, even if her sister Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) is no longer around. Yet, while those deep romantic feelings weren't realized between the pair in the timeline that plays out on-screen, they aren't necessarily exclusive to the alternate reality.

Image
With the dust fully settled on Season 2 of Arcane, the door is wide open for more of the League of Legends world to be explored on screen. Shortly after the second and final run premiered on Netflix, showrunner and co-creator Christian Linke told Collider that the acclaimed series, following the tragic story of sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell), was just the beginning of the team's plans to bring more of Riot Games' champions and regions to life. Half a year later, he's not ready to say what exactly any potential projects could look like, but he could offer a bit of insight into where they are in terms of deciding what comes next. Warning! Spoilers ahead for Arcane season 2!

Arcane: League of Legends ended in 2024, but the creators haveopened up about the future of the series' universe and the possibility of a Caitlyn and Vi spinoff. Based on League of Legends from Riot Games, Arcane ran for only two seasons on Netflix, and the relationship between Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Caitlyn (Katie Leung) was a significant part of season 2. However, the emotional moments in the final episodes indicate that the beloved Arcane characters have only just started their journeys.

There's still a lot of work to do before any spinoffs are released, but fans haven't forgotten the explosive conclusion of season 2, or the promise of future Arcane spinoffs within the story's world, especially about how season 2 set up Vi and Cait's life together. 'Arcane' Creative Team Say There's "More To Come" in Vi and Caitlyn's Story After Season 2
Image
It's been six months since Arcane ended its run, releasing its final episode for not just Season 2 but also the whole series. And while there has yet to be an official announcement on the next League of Legends adaptation, showrunners hinted at what's to come for the series' two main characters.

Arcane's co-executive producers, Amanda Overton and Christian Linke, teased in an interview that it is possible to explore Caitlyn's (Katie Leung) and Vi's (Hailee Steinfeld) relationship outside of Arcane since they were young during the show's events. So, in the future, there could be a story about their personal and career goals and what they want to achieve, as well as seeing them explore places outside of Piltover and Zaun. After all, the world of League of Legends is bigger than these two cities, so it is possible for them to visit other notable nations if a...

‘Arcane: League of Legends’ Team Unpacks Epic Final Season and Teases More to Caitlyn and Vi’s Story
Image
The final episodes of “Arcane: League of Legends” may have hit Netflix six months ago, but fan fervor for the Emmy-winning series isn’t anywhere close to dying down.

In a sold-out May 10 conversation with Variety at Alhambra’s Gallery Nucleus (which currently houses a collection of “Arcane” concept work as well as tribute artwork from over 30 artists), the creatives behind “Arcane” unpacked the epic final season and teased what may be next for some fan-favorite characters.

The series’ emotional final moments between sisters Jinx (Ella Purnell) and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) were conceived more than six years ago when “Arcane” was first workshopped, said screenwriter and co-executive producer Amanda Overton.

“Originally, it was supposed to be one season. It was nine episodes. The big battle that you saw during Season 2 was actually the end of Season 1. And after they finished the writers room, we made the decision to move that...

3 Harry Potter Stars Who “Backstabbed” J.K. Rowling
Image
J.K. Rowling has been very vocal about her opinions on transgender people. Being labeled as a pseudo-feminist by many, her beliefs about the existence of an entire population of people and her need to publicize them have made many of her former fans quite angry. Naturally, many fans of Harry Potter who are also queer and allies felt a deep betrayal from her, even though the fandom has an impressive percentage of LGBTQ+ members.

However, it would seem that her extreme beliefs haven’t just alienated her from the audience but also those who helped bring her vision to life. The UK Supreme Court has recently made a ruling that has been seen as controversial and transphobic by the public.

While Rowling agrees with the ruling, her colleagues seem to have left her on her own again.

‘Bridgerton’ Renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, Season 4 Coming to Netflix in 2026
Image
“Bridgerton” will continue its reign at Netflix with an additional two-season greenlight.

The Regency era romance series has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6 at Netflix, the streamer announced Wednesday during its upfront presentation in New York City. Netflix also announced that Season 4 will debut in 2026, but did not specify any specific release window beyond that.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 debuted in two parts in May and June 2024, respectively, while Season 2 premiered in March 2022 and Season 1 debuted in December 2020, so a spring or summer release for Season 4 looks likely. Filming for “Bridgerton” Season 4 kicked off in September 2024, just months after Season 3 dropped on Netflix, at Shepperton Studios in London.

Netflix similarly granted a two-season renewal for “Bridgerton” in 2021, bringing the series up through Season 4.

While the shocking conclusion of Season 3 led to fan speculation regarding which Bridgerton sibling could lead Season 4, Netflix announced the fourth installment will focus on Benedict (Luke Thompson), as...

While Harry Potter may have defeated Voldemort, aced his O.W.L.s, and saved the Wizarding World as the Chosen One, there’s one thing he just couldn’t conquer: Ginny Weasley’s lips. Yup, you heard that right! Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny and literally married Harry in the movies, once called Daniel Radcliffe a terrible kisser.

Now, to make it even spicier, Cho Chang actress Katie Leung and Hermione Granger star Emma Watson had nothing but praise for Daniel Radcliffe’s smooching skills. So, it seems that according to Bonnie Wright’s standards, poor Harry was too busy dodging Death Eaters to brush up on his kissing charms.

Daniel Radcliffe couldn’t match up to Bonnie Wright’s kissing expectations

Harry might have married Ginny and had three kids, but Daniel Radcliffe struggled mightly in living up to his onscreen wife, Bonnie Wright’s expectations. After all,...

“I’m gonna let my boy Pedro respond for me”: J.K. Rowling’s Latest Online Rampage Is So Diabolical That Harry Potter Fans Are Summoning Pedro Pascal
Image
Azkaban? Nope, just cancelled. J. K. Rowling’s latest social media spell is sparking debate. J. K. Rowling’s not exactly winning the House Cup for allyship. The Harry Potter creator, who also moonlights as mystery writer Robert Galbraith, has been stirring cauldrons again with her staunch views on transgender rights.

On April 16, UK judges ruled that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex, and Rowling waved her wand in approval. Taking to social media to voice out her views. As opinions clash faster than a Triwizard duel, it’s clear Rowling isn’t shifting from her stance anytime soon.

The question remains: is this boldness or a descent into the Dark Arts of discourse? Grab your wands, folks—it’s time to Lumos the truth.

J.K. Rowling Reacts to New 'Harry Potter' Star Paapa Essiedu Supporting the Trans Community
Image
J.K. Rowling is criticizing several Harry Potter actors for supporting the transgender community.

After the United Kingdom Supreme Court declared this week that trans women are not legally women, multiple actors in the Harry Potter universe signed an open letter supporting trans rights.

The letter was signed by Paapa Essiedu, who will be playing Severus Snape in the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. It was also signed by Eddie Redmayne, who starred in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films.

J.K. later voiced her criticisms about the actors’ choice to publicly sign the letter on social media.

J.K. Rowling Won't Fire 'Harry Potter's Paapa Essiedu for Pro-Trans Views
Image
J.K. Rowling has asserted that she doesn't have the power, nor would she ever fire an actor from HBO's Harry Potterseries because of their pro-trans views. She shared her stance on X/Twitter in response to an article speculating about whether she would "sack" Paapa Essiedu, who has been cast as Severus Snape, after he recently signed an open letter calling for industry action on trans rights in the wake of the U.K. Supreme Court ruling that transgender women should not to be recognized as women — a decision that was celebrated by Rowling but decried by many others, including The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal.

"I don't have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn't exercise it if I did," Rowling wrote in a post she shared on X/Twitter (seen below). "I don't believe in taking away people's jobs or livelihoods because...

J.K. Rowling Says She Won’t Remove Paapa Essiedu From HBO’s Harry Potter Series Over Trans Rights Letter
J.K. Rowling at an event for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
J.K. Rowling stated on Monday that she does not have the authority to remove actor Paapa Essiedu from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series and would not act on that power even if she had it, responding to speculation following Essiedu’s support for trans rights.

Essiedu, who is set to play Severus Snape in the new adaptation, signed an open letter urging the U.K. entertainment industry to support the trans community. The letter, endorsed by over 400 actors including Eddie Redmayne and Katie Leung, was released following a U.K. Supreme Court ruling that legally defines the word “woman” based on biological sex.

“I don’t have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn’t exercise it if I did,” Rowling wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I don’t believe in taking away people’s jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally...

J.K. Rowling Insists She Lacks the Power to Fire Paapa Essiedu From ‘Harry Potter’ Over Differing Trans Views – and Wouldn’t Anyway
Image
J.K. Rowling, who has been a staunch anti-trans advocate, responded Monday to the suggestion Paapa Essiedu’s role as Severus Snape in the new “Harry Potter” series was at risk after he signed an open letter supporting trans rights. The letter called on the U.K. entertainment industry to protect the trans community following the country’s ruling that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex.

“I don’t have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn’t exercise it if I did,” the author wrote in an X post on Monday with an attachment to a news article that raised the question of Essiedu’s job security. “I don’t believe in taking away people’s jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.”

J.K. Rowling Explains Why She Won’t Fire ‘Harry Potter’ Snape Actor Paapa Essiedu
Image
Are the wands coming out behind the scenes of HBO’s Harry Potter reboot?

J.K. Rowling has reacted to an article speculating about whether she will “sack” actor Paapa Essiedu, who has been cast in the upcoming series as Potions Professor Severus Snape.

Last week, Essiedu — along with Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne and Harry Potter film series actor Katie Leung — signed an open letter along with more than 400 others which called upon the United Kingdom’s entertainment industry to commit to protecting the trans community after the U.K. Supreme Court ruled that trans women should not be recognized as women and that “sex” should legally mean biological sex.

Initially, Rowling seemed to only vaguely and possibly reference the Harry Potter actors in a post on X on Sunday where the author criticized petition signers without naming names (“Some argue that signatories of these sorts of letters are motivated...

Jk Rowling Responds to Rumors She'll 'Sack' Harry Potter Reboot Stars for Supporting Trans Rights
Image
Recently, the UK Supreme Court ruled that trans women were not women, generating controversy that has garnered international attention. The fallout of this decision, which had been financially supported in part by Harry Potter author Jk Rowling, has been extensive, and the cast of the Harry Potter HBO reboot are caught in the middle.

Recently Paapa Essiedu, who has been cast to play Snape in the new series, signed a letter standing for the rights of trans people in Britain. He wasn't the only one - the letter was also signed by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Eddie Redmayne and Cho Chang actress Katie Leung, plus several other people who played small roles across the Wizarding World movies.

Rowling appeared to take offense at this. The author, who is the leading figurehead against trans rights in Britain, responded to the letter with a long post on her X,...

Jk Rowling Ignores Harry Potter Day, Then Goes Viral With Anti-Trans Rant About Support Letter Signed by Harry Potter Stars
Image
J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter as a piece of literature about doing the right thing and fighting against evil, but also about friendship, loyalty, bravery, and the importance of choice. Unfortunately, her detractors have argued that her real-life values don't reflect that, as she has been controversially sharing her anti-trans views for years.

Recently, the UK Supreme Court ruled that trans women were not women, sparking protests across the US. Several British artists signed a letter of support to protect trans rights in the country, including several Harry Potter stars. As she failed to acknowledge Harry Potter Day, she focused on another anti-trans rant, calling out the support letter in a lengthy X post.

In light of recent open letters from academia and the arts criticising the UK's Supreme Court ruling on sex-based rights, it's possibly worth remembering that nobody sane believes, or has ever believed, that humans can change sex,...

Harry Potter stars sign letter supporting trans rights, including one from HBO's new show
Image
Recently, the Scottish government moved to include transgender people under its umbrella of same-sex protections. In response, the anti-trans advocacy group For Women Scotland challenged the moved, with some funding from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who has become one of the leading anti-trans voices in the world over the past several years. The challenged worked, and the U.K. Supreme Court ruled that trans women are not legally women. In an example of what actor Pedro Pascal called "heinous loser behavior," Rowling posted a picture of herself smoking a cigar on her superyacht to celebrate.

In response, more than 400 professionals from the U.K.'s film and television industry have signed an open letter in support of trans rights, according to The A.V. Club. Among the signatories are several actors who have worked in the Harry Potter universe, including Katie Leung (Cho Chang in the movies), Eddie Redmayne (who...

Does Jinx Die In Arcane?
Image
"Arcane" felt like the start of a new era of TV animation. The show delivered visuals that experimented with 3D and 2D textures in the way big-budget movies like "Into the Spider-Verse" did. It told a bold, mature, and complex story with memorable and well-developed characters, and introduced a vast and layered world with a deep sense of lore and mystery. It helped put the final nail in the coffin of the video game adaptation curse, being one of only three perfect animated video game TV shows — according to Rotten Tomatoes.

The show is based on the hugely popular video game "League of Legends," and serves as a pseudo-prequel to some of the game's biggest characters. It centers around two sisters, Vi (Hailee Seinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell), who find themselves on opposite sides of a huge conflict involving the entire city-state of Piltover after arcane technology is discovered.

In the first photo shared by Netflix on X, it seems like Benedict and Sophie’s families will get a chance to meet each other through what looks like a friendly house visit. Both Seasons of Netflix's 'Arcane' Have 100% on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Although one could easily dismiss it as just another video game adaptation, Arcanehas now emerged as one of Netflix's most popular animated series and is loved by many. Initially announced at the League of Legends anniversary celebrations in 2019, the first season of the show premiered in November 2021. Arcane was renewed for a second season the same month, with Season 2 taking to screens in November 2024.

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane has firmly cemented itself in the history of television with an impressive accomplishment on Rotten Tomatoes. In a feat that only a handful of works have achieved, both season one and two of Arcane have a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audience ratings, although not perfect, follow closely. Season 1 of Arcane holds a 94% by viewers, while Season 2 lags slightly behind with 84%. However, from an overall perspective, what Arcane has achieved is nothing less than impressive.

Bridgerton Treats Fans With Season 4 First Look at Benedict and Sophie at the Masquerade Ball on Valentine's Day

Bridgerton premiered in 2020 on Netflix, and it has been a major phenomenon since then. The Regency-era series is based on Julia Quinn's book series of the same name and follows the eponymous wealthy family.

Every season, Bridgerton followed a different main couple, starting with Daphne and Simon in Season 1, Anthony and Kate in Season 2, and, most recently, Colin and Penelope in Season 3. The show is already renewed for Season 4, which will finally put the rightful Bridgerton sibling in the spotlight — Benedict, whose story was canonically explored in the third installment of the book series, instead of Colin's.
