Frontline Acquires ‘Antidote’ Documentary Thriller On Investigative Journalist Caught In Kremlin Crosshairs
Image
Exclusive: A new documentary about Christo Grozev, an investigative journalist put on a Kremlin “kill list” for exposing Russian assassination plots, will make its broadcast debut on Frontline.

The long-running PBS investigative documentary series produced by GBH in Boston has struck a deal to air the film directed by James Jones the night of May 6 on PBS stations, as well as Frontline’s YouTube channel and the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel. The documentary will become available that same evening (at 7 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Central) at pbs.org/frontline and through the PBS App. Prior to the Frontline, Antidote will have a limited theatrical release in Los Angeles.

Grozev rose to international prominence by uncovering Kremlin schemes to poison Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Russian British activist and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza. While that work earned him the sobriquet “rock star investigative journalist,” it didn’t endear Grozev...

After All My Children Reboot Talk, Guiding Light Alums Weigh In On Possibility
Image
In light of the news that All My Children is potentially being rebooted as a holiday movie on Lifetime, Soap Hub reached out to a few of your favorite Guiding Light alums to see their thoughts about the potential to bring their show back.

Gl History

Gl aired on CBS from June 30, 1952, to September 18, 2009. Before that it was broadcast on the radio from January 25, 1937, and June 29, 1956. It aired on both CBS and on the radio from 1952-1956. Keep reading to see what they had to say!

Beth Chamberlin (Beth)

How would you feel about Gl being rebooted as a movie? I would love it. There is the selfish reason that I would get to see and work with my wonderful friends on the show. There is also the knowledge of the joy that would bring to long-time viewers. People rarely understand the unique aspect of these long-running series. They provided a touch point between generations.

Y&r Spoilers: Conner Floyd Dumped To Recurring Status As Chance Chancellor!
Eileen Davidson, Bryton James, Joshua Morrow, Gina Tognoni, Justin Hartley, Melissa Claire Egan, and Peter Bergman in The Young and the Restless (1973)
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Conner Floyd, who plays Chance Chancellor, has had a change in status.

The actor is no longer in the opening credits, which signals that his character has gone from regular to recurring status.

This means that we will be seeing less of Chance, although that has already happened with fans seeing less and less of him in 2024. Here’s what to know about Conner Floyd on CBS’ The Young and the Restless.

The Young And The Restless spoilers – Conner Floyd On Recurring Status

As a recurring cast member Conner Floyd can be expected to film occasionally and remains on the show, but he is not a main cast member.

We can tell you that Floyd has scenes next with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) who was (is?) his love interest. We haven’t seen them together for ages, so maybe they forgot they are involved.

‘Young And The Restless’ Star Conner Floyd Demoted
Image
It looks like The Young and the Restless downgraded one of the show’s stars. Recent credits show that Conner Floyd no longer holds the role of main star on the show. His role is now simply a recurring character, a demotion from his rank on the daytime soap opera.

Here is what you need to know about Conner Floyd on The Young and the Restless.

Conner Floyd Moved To Recurring Star On The Young And The Restless

Conner Floyd’s name was missing from the The Young and the Restless credits when listing the contracted main stars. Instead, he now sees his name under the recurring cast section. A recurring cast member is one who shows up occasionally in episodes but is no longer considered one of the main cast members.

Magnolia Pictures and Participant Buy ‘The Grab,’ Global Thriller From ‘Blackfish’ Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Exclusive)
Image
Magnolia Pictures and Participant have partnered to jointly acquire North American rights to “The Grab,” a new documentary from “Blackfish” director Gabriela Cowperthwaite.

The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, follows journalists from The Center for Investigative Reporting as they work high-profile sources and utilize a cache of secret data to uncover the money and influence being used by countries, corporations and members of the uber-elite to control the planet’s most vital resources. Participant and Magnolia are positioning the film as a “high-stakes global thriller,” one that takes viewers from Arizona to Zambia as the moviemakers examine the food and water scarcity that’s resulting from this little-known power grab.

“We’re thrilled to reunite with our good friends at Participant and the great Gabriela Cowperthwaite who has, yet again, brought to light a nail biting, explosive, and essential story,” said Magnolia Pictures co-ceo’s Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley.

The Curse Of Rosalie (aka The Harbinger) (2022)
Irene Bedard, Will Klipstine, Amanda MacDonald, and Madeleine McGraw in The Harbinger (2022)
Harbinger (här-bǝn-jǝr)

A: Something or someone that foreshadows a future event,

B: One that initiates a major change: gives an anticipatory sign of what’s to come.

The Curse Of Rosalie from director Will Klipstine, who also stars in the lead role of Daniel Snyder, is an interesting and dense watch. The movie explores so many different elements of horror, crime, demons, tokens, ancient Native American curses and creepy small town neighbors along with a number of twists and turns that you don’t want to blink for a second.

The film starts in familiar territory with a seemingly ‘normal’ young couple moving to a new small town with their troubled young daughter, Rosalie (Madeleine McGraw). You see, Rosalie has endured a fairly recent change which leaves her now with a bit of a nasty chip on her shoulder – to put it mildly. She is very quiet, brooding and not...

Rikki Lea Bestall appointed Screenwest CEO
Image
Former Screenwest head of development and production Rikki Lea Bestall will return to the organisation as its new CEO, succeeding Willie Rowe.

A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (Waapa), Bestall spent more than eight years at Screenwest – during which she also worked as director of development and development manager – before leaving in 2018.

Prior to joining the organisation, she was the VP for features at Kransnoff/Foster Entertainment and worked in multiple production roles, both domestically and overseas.

Bestall told If the timing of her appointment presented an opportunity to work with the industry and key stakeholders to develop new areas of growth, fuelled by the government’s “unprecedented” commitment to the industry.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Screenwest to drive the strategic priorities for the organisation, and play an integral role in supporting the growth of the Wa Sector and its economic and cultural contribution to the state,...

Wa Government promises $100 million studio and $20 million production attraction fund
Image
Ahead of the state election in March, the Western Australian government has committed to launch a $20 million production attraction fund and to develop a $100 million studio and sound stage in Fremantle.

The announcement has been hailed as a “game-changer” by Screenwest, who has long advocated for both.

If re-elected, the McGowan Government will oversee investment in the development of a studio complex located in Fremantle’s Victoria Quay.

The proposed facility would service screen production, games, and immersive technologies across the local screen industry, as well as interstate and international productions in Wa.

Screenwest worked with the state government after it announced a market-led tender process for the facility late last year to ensure the studio’s development would meet the needs of the Wa screen industry.

In the long-term, the studio is expected to support approximately 2,800 film production and precinct hospitality jobs each year.

Saturday’s announcement of the...

Beast of Burden: Top 10 Human-Animal Combinations in the Movies
It can be such a beautiful happening when the natural forces of humanity and the wild kingdom can get together and establish a sense of harmony in motion pictures. Also, it can be a compelling yet regrettable conflict as well when man and beast decide to collide in the interest of big screen entertainment. Whatever the case may be certainly does not matter because the concept of beasts of all species (rather it be of the four-legged or two-legged variety) collectively clashing or cooperating sends a special message about triumph, tragedy and just plain tenderness.

In Beast of Burden: Top 10 Human-Animal Combinations in the Movies we will look at some of the best selections where man and animal co-exist whether it be in calmness or chaos. There is no doubt that one can come up with numerous top ten lists detailing their ideal man-animal themes in cinema. The struggle for...

Soap News: Lauralee Bell's Comin' Back to 'Y&R'
2014 Daytime Emmy Awards

Longtime fan favorite Lauralee Bell will be returning to 'The Young and the Restless' as Cricket, a.k.a. Christine. When last seen, Chris had been the center of a lot of action.

She helped bring down Genoa City's corrupt district attorney, got Chance "killed" so he could be put into the witness protection program, and threw a monkey wrench into Nina and Paul's romantic relationship.

Bell will be back on the canvas very soon. She announced her return by posting the following on her Facebook page: "I will be on 'Y&R' for another appearance starting January 13th, 2011 for a couple of weeks. Hope you all watch. Happy Holidays."

You can definitely see why Bell's character will be coming back. Ronan (Jeff Branson) is in need of a liver transplant and when there's no match to be found, Chance (John Driscoll) will have...

King Kong (1933) and Three Kings Blu-ray Reviews
Warners has done a sturdy – if uneventful – job in upgrading their catalog titles to Blu-ray. In comparison to Fox, it’s great to see them include all the previous supplements from their earlier DVD special editions, but they also haven’t offered much more than a new transfer to hook those who want to upgrade. To be fair, the quality of the upgrade in both Three Kings and King Kong is noticeable, but not so extreme that someone who doesn’t have an HDTV would notice. That may be the point. It’s great to have these films on Blu-ray, but it’s the transfer you’re buying. King Kong stars Fay Wray and Robert Armstrong in the story of a monkey who dared to dream, while Three Kings stars George Clooney, Ice Cube, Mark Wahlberg and Spike Jonze as soldiers in the first Iraq war who’ve got a...
