She is known for playing Missy Booth in the Netflix/Channel 4 drama series Ackley Bridge, Mayella in To Kill a Mockingbird (West End), Carol in My Name is Leon, Alys in Life and Death in the Warehouse, Lydia in In My Skin, Jayne Torvill in Torvill and Dean, Mary in My Cousin Rachel, Rosalie in Mr Selfridge and Eve in Eve.

Friar has received several accolades for her work including an RTS award for Ackley Bridge, BAFTA nomination for Eve and an AFI nomination for Dead Gorgeous.

Friar can currently be seen as Geri in Domino Day 2024.
