Jordin Sparks isn't the first "American Idol" star to step away from the reality boob tube and give Hollywood a go, and she won't be the last. Her loosely biographical movie "Sparkle" — also featuring the late Whitney Houston, Mike Epps and Cee-Lo Green — is but the latest instance of an "Idol" star getting a close-up on the big screen.

The movie successes of Sparks' predecessors in "Idol" alumni-hood have been a mixed bag of total wins and, well, sheer embarrassment. So, how will the season six-winning songstress' flick fare?

Horatio notices a chest with a distinctive pattern on the lid. There's no dust over it and inside Natalia finds ether, pliers, duct tape. Horatio refers to it as a "kill kit.

Mardi Gras Spring Break comes to theaters September 23rd,...

MTV has announced that it is canceling its auto fix-up series Pimp My Ride after three years and seven seasons.

Hosted by rapper Xzibit, Ride picks car owners under the age of 30 for much needed car makeovers. By the end of an episode, a participants' vehicle is "pimped out" to reflect the owner's personal interests and tastes. Versions of the series air around the world including the UK, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, and Brazil.

The final eight episodes of the Us version aired in a marathon on June 9th but the series' regular run begins on Sunday, July 22nd at 10:30pm on MTV. Pimp My Ride will be preceded by new car makeover series Trick It Out, hosted by former American Idol contestant Becky O'Donohue. Stay tuned!
