One of The Walking Dead's highest-rated spinoffs is officially leaving Netflix US in August. Since The Walking Dead's flagship show came to an end after an 11-season run in 2022, its zombie-infested world has been kept alive in multiple sequels and spinoff shows.
These include The Walking Dead: Dead City, which follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) unlikely partnership, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which follows Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and later Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) as they trek across Europe, and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which finally reunited Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) with Michonne (Danai Gurira) and their kids.
The latter, which is currently the highest-rated Walking Dead spinoff on Rotten Tomatoes with an 88% critic score – for context, The Walking Dead has a 79% rating, Dead City has a 71% rating, and Daryl Dixon has a 69% rating – will be leaving Netflix US on...

AMC+ has been thriving lately, between the premiere of Shazad Latif's acclaimed swashbuckling 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea prequel series Nautilus and the return of The Walking Dead: Dead City for Season 2 back in May. While both have been streaming favorites since their release, they were recently challenged by an unexpected horror anthology. In the past week, 2019's The Mortuary Collection had overtaken the Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan-led spin-off series on the platform's streaming charts, ranking as high as fifth overall. Notably, it features one of Hollywood's brightest young stars, Jacob Elordi, in a starring role, making it a fitting watch ahead of his latest horror role in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
The Mortuary Collection made its debut at Fantastic Fest in 2019 to rave reviews before coming to Shudder for the spooky season in 2020. As the name suggests, it features a collection of creepy stories...

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead world, there’s some tough news. On August 19, Netflix will remove three popular shows from its collection. All eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead will leave the platform, along with Season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and the only season so far of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
It’s not completely clear why these shows are being taken off Netflix, but it looks like the streaming service’s deal with AMC might have ended. Other AMC shows like Dark Winds, Interview with the Vampire, and Mayfair Witches are also leaving Netflix. Oddly enough, The Walking Dead: Dead City isn’t part of this group and will stay available on Netflix for now.

Fans of The Walking Dead universe have some tough news ahead. On August 19, Netflix will remove three major shows from its lineup.

It’s not entirely clear why these shows are leaving Netflix, but it looks like the streaming service’s deal with AMC might have ended.

Fans of The Walking Dead universe are in for a world of hurt come August 19 when Netflix loses a total of three shows from its expansive lineup of content. The entire eight-season catalog of Fear the Walking Dead will stroll off along with Season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and the first and (so far) only season of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. While it isn’t totally clear why the trio of titles is making their way off the platform, it seems that perhaps the service’s deal with AMC has come to an end, as other favorites like Dark Winds, Interview with the Vampire, Mayfair Witches, and more will also be taking a leave of absence. Still, it’s odd that a fellow offshoot, The Walking Dead: Dead City, wasn’t announced in the lineup and seems, for now, to be staying on Netflix for audiences to enjoy.

Norman Reedus, star of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, has addressed the possibility of a reunion between Daryl and one of the franchise's most beloved characters: Rick Grimes. At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, it was confirmed that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is slated to end after season 4, with Daryl and Carol's (Melissa McBride) European journey set to continue in the next two seasons.
With Daryl Dixon seasons 3 and 4 both confirmed to be taking place in Spain, it remains to be seen how, or even if, Daryl and Carol will find their way home. As such, though fans may be holding out hope for a reunion between Daryl and The Walking Dead's leading man, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), there's a strong chance it won't happen. Reedus explained why he doesn't think it would be a good idea during an Sdcc interview with IGN:

After two successful seasons, AMC has decided it's not ready to say goodbye to one of its most lucrative franchises, and has given the go-ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3. Premiering back in 2023, the spinoff series stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen as fan favorites Maggie and Negan, and takes place in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that's been isolated from the mainland and sees different factions jockeying for control.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 concluded a few weeks back, and AMC has already renewed the New York-based spinoff for a third outing.
While the season 2 finale ended with a conclusive montage, leading some fans to believe that the show had ended completely, it still left the door open for more episodes. The power struggles within the zombie-infested island of Manhattan are still mostly unresolved, and both Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are alive. As long as they're still living, there's always more story to tell.
However, there's already a big change behind the scenes. Ahead of season 3, series creator Eli Jorné will step down as showrunner. But don't fear, for the position of showrunner is being filled by long-time Walking Dead writer and producer Seth Hoffman, best known for his writing credits on iconic episodes like "Too Far Gone," "Jss," and "No Way Out."

It’s been 20 years since Dean (Jensen Ackles) first picked up Sam (Jared Padalecki) from his apartment in Stanford. Can you believe that? Supernatural recently celebrated its pilot’s 20th anniversary, and fans still can’t get enough of the trio of Dean, Sam, and Castiel (Misha Collins). While streaming gives some leverage to network TV shows like Suits that get a whole spin-off based on the streaming success. Supernatural has shown its mettle by dominating Nielsen charts.
Per Deadline, Supernatural made it into the Nielsen’s Top 20 (Overall) at the 15th spot, outdoing new hits like The White Lotus and old favorites like Friends. The Eric Kripke series garnered 11.9B minutes viewed in the first half of the year for Netflix. Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined The Walking Dead as Negan in season 6. Negan's introduction was one of the most infamous moments in television history as he brutally beat down beloved survivors Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) with his barbed-wire baseball bat Lucille.
Negan's bombshell debut continues to be relevant to the series, especially with him starring in a spinoff series called Dead City alongside Maggie (Lauren Cohan). Over the years, The Walking Dead Universe has made moves to humanize him more; look no further than his origin story episode "Here's Negan" in season 10 of the original show, which chronicles his early days in the zombie apocalypse as he tries to find treatment for his wife Lucille, who was battling cancer.
But there's also another major side to Negan's arc that's always been on the sidelines: his marriage to Annie (Medina Senghore) and their son Joshua. Both Annie and Joshua...

Over the course of its 11 seasons, "The Walking Dead" offered plenty of post-apocalyptic drama for viewers. However, this was only the beginning. Any popular series worth its salt can expect a spin-off or two, but "The Walking Dead" seems to have decided to stay true to its title by spawning a massive horde that will shamble on long after the original show's death and burial. Combine its copious spin-off shows with writer Robert Kirkman's original "The Walking Dead" comics and other material like the Telltale video game series, and the post-apocalyptic property is a bona fide multimedia franchise with so much material that even the most dedicated fan may find it hard to go through it all.
As such, it's understandable if fans of "The Walking Dead" want to pick their battles by only watching the shows that truly interest them. To help you on this quest, I've compiled...

When you're on the air for 11 seasons, people are going to feel some kind of way about your show. There's no clearer example of that than The Walking Dead. AMC's legendary series based on Robert Kirkman's eponymous graphic novel series gripped audiences throughout its decade-long run, making them love, hate, cry, laugh, revolt, and appreciate everything that went down in the post-apocalyptic world. But nothing made them feel more than the characters.
The characters are the lifeblood of The Walking Dead and its many, many spinoffs. Whether it's a noble hero who just wants to do everything they can do ensure that their loved ones survive, or a heinous villain hellbent on exact the most callous kind of revenge, the personalities that popped up throughout the Twd Universe were capable of making us feel all of the feels.

Spoilers: This post contains details about The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 2 finale episode ‘If History Were a Conflagration’
This week’s episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City called back to one of the franchise’s most heartbreaking deaths.
Executive producer Scott M. Gimple recently addressed the possibility of bringing back Steven Yuen as Glenn to the franchise after Sunday’s Season 2 finale had Maggie (Lauren Cohan) relive his brutal death scene from the parent show’s 2016 Season 7 premiere episode ‘The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be‘.
“I think it comes to mind all the time. In some ways, it’s a pretty obvious way to go,” Gimple told ScreenRant about potentially bringing Yeun back for a flashback or vision. “But it would obviously be enjoyable for all of us. Steven is a remarkably busy dude, though – not to say that these folks aren’t. You never know,...

The Walking Deadstar Lauren Cohan hopes to reunite with her former co-stars in an epic crossover. Despite The Walking Dead ending in 2022, the franchise has continued on through various spin-offs that have seen the multiple characters spread across the globe. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) leads his own series set in France and is joined by Carol (Melissa McBride), while Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) starred in the limited series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which was set in Pennsylvania. In The Walking Dead: Dead City, a spin-off series set in Manhattan, Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprise their roles as Maggie Green and Negan.
With the various characters far removed from each other, and the original southern-set original series, Cohan still hopes to one day reunite with her fellow co-stars. Speaking with Collider, Cohan does one day hope that The Walking Dead spin-offs can cross...

Although its title may suggest otherwise, The Walking Dead has covered plenty of terrain during its more than a decade on screens. Following multiple characters and crossing different continents and timelines, the franchise, which kicked off all the way back in 2010, seems to keep on ticking. Just last week, audiences tuned in for the Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City, which dropped flagship series favorites Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in New York City, while fans are awaiting the Season 3 arrival of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which will carry its titular zombie killer across Europe. And, if you thought the team was running out of location-based storytelling steam, you’d better think again, because their dreams are as lofty as ever.
During a recent chat with Comics Bulletin, frequent The Walking Dead director, Michael Satrazemis, opened up about his hopes of launching the franchise to new heights — literally.

Zombie-related television most likely peaked with The Walking Dead series as the show threw up several incredible characters and arcs. Based on The Walking Dead comic book series, the AMC series went on to introduce several fan-favorite characters, like Lennie James' character, Morgan Jones. Jones might have died in the comics, but remains very much alive in AMC's Walking Dead universe. This is a universe that has killed off other fan-favorite characters, such as Steven Yeun's Glenn Rhee and seen others strike out with their own spin-offs, like Norman Reedus' motorcycle-riding character does in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Having portrayed Morgan in the flagship series and in Fear the Walking Dead which concluded in 2023, and survived. The survival of James' character has fueled speculation that Morgan might return in one of the franchise's spin-off shows.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 8!The Walking Dead: Dead City star Lauren Cohan has explained the importance of the season 2 finale's major callback moment to the first series. During the end of Dead City season 2, Maggie (Cohan) finds Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the basement of the church, secretly watching as he lines up both Perlie (Gaius Charles) and Bruegel (Kim Coates) to be executed by Lucille. In a moment mirroring how he killed Glenn (Steven Yeun) in the original series, the former antagonist uses his baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire to kill Bruegel.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Owen Danoff about The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 finale, Cohan explained how Maggie felt watching Negan kill Bruegel, explaining how it conjured memories of Glenn. After becoming an established fan favorite on The Walking Dead with his role as Morgan, Lennie James would make the transition to the spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead, to conclude his run in the franchise. James has not been seen since the final season of Fear the Walking Dead two years ago, but as the franchise lives on, fans are wondering if they'll see the character again in the future.
In an interview with ScreenRant, James commented on the possibility of returning as Morgan after the events of Fear the Walking Dead. He hinted that no one has approached him about returning in another Walking Dead series as Morgan, suggesting no one will see him back in that role anytime soon. Mysteriously, however, he also hinted that his denial doesn't necessarily mean that Morgan's return won't happen. At the least, it seems that James wants to keep fans guessing.

The Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City has officially come and gone with no news surrounding its hopeful Season 3 return. Unlike its sibling spin-off production, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the title wasn’t given the greenlight for a follow-up ahead of its premiere, leaving audiences as dark as Manhattan by the time the credits rolled last night. And, if you, as a fan, were looking for some solace from universe head Scott Gimple, let’s just say he’s not necessarily the person to turn to in your time of uncertainty.

Almost a decade ago, The Walking Dead took a baseball bat to its sprawling ensemble and changed the course of the show forever. Hard as it is to believe, Steven Yeun’s Glenn was smashed out of the story all the way back in 2016. Despite ending the main series in 2022, AMC continues to churn out lots of Walking Dead content. And the result has actually been pretty good. Of course, we had The Ones Who Live in 2024, which continued the saga of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). Just recently, we wrapped up the second season of Dead City, which follows unlikely duo Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as they explore a zombie-infested Manhattan. Franchise boss Scott M. Gimple has hinted numerous times that the wider universe could continue to expand into the foreseeable future.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 8!Scott Gimple has addressed Steven Yeun's potential return as Glenn in The Walking Dead following The Walking Dead: Dead City's season 2 finale. Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently opened up about one of the most talked-about moments in The Walking Dead. In a chat with co-star Lauren Cohan on First We Feast, Morgan said that if he could change one storyline in the series, he wouldn’t have killed Glenn.
The scene where Negan kills Glenn was taken straight from the comics, but it shocked viewers when it aired on TV.
Many fans felt it was too violent, and a large number stopped watching the show afterward. The drop in ratings was noticeable. Even though the death stayed true to the original comic, the fallout was something the show never fully recovered from.

The Walking Dead made many changes from the comics, but one of the most shocking moments stayed the same: Negan brutally killing Glenn with a bat. This scene left a big impact on the show and its fans.
After that episode aired, the series lost about two million viewers and never quite recovered. Many fans say they stopped watching because of Glenn’s death, even though it followed the comics closely. Other big deaths, like Carl Grimes, didn’t cause as much upset.

“The Ultimate Finish”: Lauren Cohan Reveals ‘The Walking Dead’ Reunion She's Manifesting [Exclusive]
After The Walking Dead came to an end back in 2022 following a staggering 11-season run, several of its primary members struck out on their own. Daryl (Norman Reedus) ended up on the shores of France with his bestie Carol (Melissa McBride) not far behind in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, while separated spouses Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) found their way back to one another in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Meanwhile, an unlikely allyship was formed between archenemies Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in The Walking Dead: Dead City. And, although each offshoot has proved its potential thanks to impressive viewership numbers, there are many fans who would give everything to see the full band back together again. The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 concludes with several twists, including Maggie's thirst for revenge, Bruegel's defeat, and the loss of a beloved character. The war over the methane reaches its breaking point, and a cliffhanger that will carry over to season 3.
The Dama's control
Maggie awakens, tied up and seeking escape, only to find a key lodged in a filing cabinet. Shortly after accessing the key, Dama enters the room and immediately starts using the same tactics she used on Hershel.
Much to Maggie's dismay, she notices the missing key (most likely because she planted it there) and orders Maggie to hand it over. Maggie frees herself before throwing the key, willing to comply temporarily for the sake of her son.
