Even Prince Harry gets a bit jittery when Her Majesty pops up unexpectedly, or so he tells palace staff in this new trailer for HBO’s upcoming Queen of the World documentary.
“If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor,” Harry jovially advises the assembled staff, “don’t panic.” Then he chuckles and adds, “I know you will. We all do.”
Produced by Oxford Films for UK’s ITV network – HBO has U.S. rights – and exec produced by Nick Kent, Queen of the World includes behind-the-scenes footage with The Queen and such Royal Family members as Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince William and Catherine, the Countess of Wessex and, of course, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and former countess of Suits.

Theatre and cinema refuses festival while it is backed by Israeli Embassy amid Gaza crisis; industry reacts via social media.
The Tricycle Theatre has refused to host the UK Jewish Film Festival (Ukjff) as long as it is backed by the Israeli Embassy in London amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The festival was due to host at least 26 films at The Tricycle in north London, but organizers are now searching for another venue for the November event and have criticized the move as “unacceptable”.
In a written explanation Jonathan Levy, chairman of The Tricycle, said: “Given the present situation in Israel/Palestine, and the unforeseen and unhappy escalation that has occurred over the past three weeks, including a terrible loss of life, The Tricycle cannot be associated with any activity directly funded or supported by any party to the conflict.
“The Tricycle will be pleased to host the Ukjff provided that it occurs without the support...

As with all portrayals of punk, its authenticity can be, and was, questioned. But with lead performances of this quality it's really all about the relationships, messed up as they were
Sid and Nancy (1986)
Director: Alex Cox
Entertainment grade: B+
History grade: B–
Sid Vicious was the bassist of punk band the Sex Pistols from 1977 to 1978. When his girlfriend Nancy Spungen was murdered in October 1978, he was charged with the crime. He died of a heroin overdose before the case could come to trial.
Casting
Sid Vicious (Gary Oldman) and Johnny Rotten (Andrew Schofield) are vandalising a Rolls-Royce on a London street. Can of paint in hand, Sid kicks in the windscreen to reveal a nonplussed Scottish terrier sitting in the driver's seat. "Go on, Sidney," says Johnny. "Spray the beast." "Nah," replies Sid. "It's a really good dog." What a kind heart. Oldman and Chloe Webb are astonishingly good as Sid and Nancy,...

On location: At the heart of Kilburn, on the border between London boroughs of Camden and Brent – two of the most ethnically diverse areas in the UK – the Tricycle is a multifaceted gem.
A small and old-fashioned entrance on Kilburn High Road – a major commercial street studded with cafes, pubs and discount stores – welcomes passers-by into the Tricycle. A second and bigger entrance on Buckley Street – complete with a modern, spacious foyer and abundant natural light – leads straight to the cinema.
The older, more ornate half of the building is home to the Tricycle Theatre. It presents plays reflecting the cultural diversity of the local community, often with politically charged content (such as its current production – Gillian Slovo...

The events of the London riots earlier this year have been turned into a stage production, the Associated Press reports. A 250-seat London venue, Tricycle Theatre, opened The Riots earlier this week, recreating the mayhem that took place over four nights in August through real-life testimonies from residents, police, politicans, community employees and rioters. Director Nicholas Kent said that The Riots was done with the intention of acting as a public inquiry into the riots. The government has not held an inquiry thus far. Rock n' roll and Hollywood will soon collide as Keith Richard's autobiography "Life" is reportedly being turned into a feature film. Although Richards claims he isn't in a huge rush to get this project moving, fans and industry buffs can't help but speculate who will play the legendary guitarist of The Rolling Stones. While a few names have been dropped, there is no clear answer to who will take on the challenge of portraying the man once described by journalist Nick Kent as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know."
The role will require great versatility, as the actor will have to portray Richards through the many tumultuous stages of his life, including years spent struggling with drug abuse. While there is plenty of room for opinion and debate over who could capture the notoriety of Keith Richards on the big screen, we thought of a few...

Jonathan Franzen's family epic, a new collection from Seamus Heaney, Philip Larkin's love letters, a memoir centred on tiny Japanese sculptures ... which books most excited our writers this year?
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
In Red Dust Road (Picador) Jackie Kay writes lucidly and honestly about being the adopted black daughter of white parents, about searching for her white birth mother and Nigerian birth father, and about the many layers of identity. She has a rare ability to portray sentiment with absolutely no sentimentality. Isabel Wilkerson's The Warmth of Other Suns (Random House) is a fresh and wonderful history of African-American migration. Chang-rae Lee's The Surrendered (Little, Brown) is a grave, beautiful novel about people who experienced the Korean war and the war's legacy. And David Remnick's The Bridge (Picador) is a thorough and well-written biography of Barack Obama. The many Americans who believe invented biographical details about Obama would do well to read it.
