Jurassic World Rebirth has instantly become a number one hit on VOD following its digital release. Hailing from director Gareth Edwards, the latest installment in the long-running Jurassic Park franchise stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, the leader of an expedition into dangerous territory to recover dinosaur DNA for a medical breakthrough.

In addition to Johansson, the Jurassic World Rebirth cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, among others. After hitting theaters in early July, the film launched on VOD on August 5.

Jurassic World Rebirth is now available to rent or buy on Digital, and Universal (via THR) has officially released one of the deleted scenes online.

The scene features the return of arguably the franchise's most popular dinosaur, the Velociraptor, as a group of the lethal reptiles approach the movie's protagonists. When Rupert Friend's villain raises his gun, the Raptors retreat ("you better run"), but they are actually fleeing from the approaching Distortus Rex.

Setting aside the fact that the sequence features one of the most overused "jokes" in the history of cinema, many fans are unhappy about the Raptors being utilized this way - for a scene that doesn't even appear in the theatrical version of the movie.

The Sarajevo Film Festival has unveiled the films that will play in its Open Air Program, which include Joachim Trier’s Cannes Grand Prix winner “Sentimental Value,” Michel Franco’s Berlin competitor “Dreams,” Nadia Fall’s Sundance competition title “Brides,” Dominik Moll’s Cannes competitor “Case 137,” and Miguel Ángel Jiménez’s Locarno title “The Birthday Party.”

Some of the screenings will be attended by stars or directors of the films, who will be in Sarajevo to receive the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, including Willem Dafoe with “The Birthday Party,” Stellan Skarsgård with “Sentimental Value,” Franco with “Dreams,” and Paolo Sorrentino with “The Great Beauty.”

The 31st edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival has unveiled the lineup for its Open Air Program, consisting of two sections, Open Air and Open Air Premiere.

The program set for the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema will be “showcasing some of the most important arthouse films of the year, as well as cinematic classics,” organizers said. “Some of the films in this program will be presented by acclaimed directors, actors, and screenwriters, [2025] recipients of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, including Paolo Sorrentino, Willem Dafoe, Ray Winstone, Stellan Skarsgård, and Michel Franco,” who received the honor several years ago.

Meanwhile, the new Open Air Premiere lineup will “showcase films from the former Yugoslav region in the unique setting of the Uniqa Open Air Cinema Stari Grad,” fest organizers highlighted.

A part of Prime1Studio's Legacy Museum Collection, the company's latest Jurassic ⅙ scale statue is the Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex), specifically based on the version from Rebirth. This is one of Prime1Studio’s largest dinosaur statues to date that accurately captures the highly detailed lovable monster from the film. Something they say would be impossible to do on any other smaller scale.

Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme will begin streaming on Peacock on Certified Fresh on Friday, July 25.

That’s a 56-day theatrical window on par with the filmmaker’s previous Focus Features 2023 title Asteroid City‘s screen-to-Peacock premiere.

The Phoenician Scheme follows wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro) who is on the run and wanted by myriad governments, the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins. In the midst of chaos he appoints his estranged and only daughter, a nun (Mia Threapleton), to be the sole heir of his estate. She also gets pulled into his globe trotting.

The Jurassic World franchise continues to show some bite as the dragon-filled film series' latest installment, Rebirth, continues its solid box-office performance. Amid Rebirth's theatrical run, its billion-dollar predecessor, Fallen Kingdom, rises on the streaming charts as it's a big hit with Peacock subscribers.

Per Flix Patrol, Fallen Kingdom continues its stronghold on Peacock's top 10 movie chart. Having established itself in the top 10 last month, Fallen Kingdom is now 3rd on Peacock's chart, which is topped by another Universal Pictures title, Drop, starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar.

In its second weekend, Jurassic World Rebirth saw a 57% drop in domestic earnings, fairly standard for a major tentpole release. Looking at other top 2025 films, this trend holds:

Lilo & Stitch opened with $146.01 million and dropped 57% to $63 million in weekend number two. A Minecraft Movie debuted at $162.75 million, followed by $80.6 million the next weekend- a 50% dip. Universal Pictures has officially announced that The Phoenician Scheme is now available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Prime Video or Fandango at Home.
