
Updated: All Elite Wrestling (Aew) has officially signed a new multi-year multimedia rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to sources, the deal is valued at $185 million per year when all elements are taken into account. Under the new deal, Aew shows “Dynamite” and “Collision” will remain on TBS and TNT respectively. But for the first time since its launch in 2019, Aew programming will stream live on Max simultaneously for U.S. subscribers and will be available to stream on-demand starting in January 2025.

Central to the Activist team that brought in Fall, Pennell is based in Activist’s West Hollywood office and reports to Founding Partner, Bernie Cahill, and Head of Film and Television Literary, Jon Kanak.

Jonah Hill and Martin Scorsese are to team up for a biopic feature of the band Grateful Dead.
Jonah Hill is on board to play the group’s frontman, Jerry Garcia, while Scorsese will direct and produce the untitled biopic. Hill will also produce through his Strong Baby banner along with his producing partner Matt Dines.

Martin Scorsese has found his next movie for Apple: A biographical drama about the iconic rock band the Grateful Dead in which Jonah Hill will star as frontman and counterculture icon Jerry Garcia. Deadline first reported the project. The movie will reunite Scorsese and Hill, who last teamed for the director’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Hill earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor thanks to the movie.
According to Deadline: “Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who have received rave reviews for penning ‘American Crime Story: Impeachment,’ are writing the script with Rick Yorn of Lbi Entertainment joining Hill and Scorsese as producers. Bernie Cahill, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Trixie Garcia and Eric Eisner will exec produce. Insiders add that with the band and the groups management participating in the film, Apple has rights to use the groups musical catalogue for the film.

Exclusive: After stepping up as a producer on his next film Killers of the Flower Moon, Apple has found its next Martin Scorsese project, and its subject is a band the Oscar winner knows well. All Elite Wrestling (Aew) could very soon shake up the world of professional wrestling on television for the first time in years.
It was announced Wednesday that the nascent promotion has signed a deal with WarnerMedia that will see Aew air a weekly wrestling show on TNT primetime beginning later this year. This marks the first time professional wrestling has aired on TNT since the days of WCW, which was bought out by WWE in 2001 after the so-called Monday Night Wars that saw the two companies go head-to-head in the ratings.

“This is the third year and it’s kind of becoming a thing,” said manager and environmentalist Keith Addis, surveying the annual backyard benefit concert for Oceana, the seawater conservation organization, held at his home in the Los Feliz hills. “Sting was the first. [Don] Henley was the second. They’re all guys who have supported Oceana in the past so they’re pre-enrolled in the cause.”
This year’s talent? Dead & Company, who performed a seven-song set — perhaps the smallest (only 260 guests) and shortest in the band’s legendary history — on Sunday night (July 8) that included such favorites as “Dark Star,” “Shakedown Street” and “Franklin’s Tower.” Among the revelers in the crowd were Shiri Appleby, Kelly Lynch, Eli Roth and Rodger Berman, husband of fashion designer Rachel Zoe.
“Their manager, Bernie Cahill, is a really good friend of mine,” Addis said. “Normally, it takes me a couple of months to lock down the talent.

Paramount Players has preemptively acquired an original comedy pitch from “Uncle Drew” scribe Jay Longino.
While both the logline and title are being kept under wraps, the project is said to be set in the world of West Coast hip-hop and was brought into the studio by executive vice president Matt Dines, who will also oversee along with creative executive Royce Reeves Darby.
