Marsha Newbery
Marsha provides strategic and operational support to BC producers regarding the CMPA's labour agreements, and serves as a member resource for collective agreement interpretation and production practices.

As a member of the BC Industrial Relations team, Marsha represents BC producers in negotiations, supports and advocates for members in grievances and arbitrations, and represents the BC independent production community in matters of employment standards, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining the CMPA, Marsha was the Director of Business Affairs for Bell Media Studios in Toronto, supporting in-house programming such as eTalk, The Marilyn Denis Show, Your Morning, and The Social. She also represented Bell Media in collective bargaining with artist unions and guilds. Before joining Bell Media, Marsha worked as an independent producer in Vancouver, producing award-winning films for CBC, CTV and Lifetime.

Marsha has a masters degree in communications from Simon Fraser University and, in addition to her responsibilities with the CMPA, Marsha is a member of WIFT and Women in Communications & Technology.

Marsha's favourite Canadian drama is Vikings, and her favourite comedy is Letterkenny, because it's hard not to love a show that makes saying 'Pitter-Patter' cool again.
