Exclusive: Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis, the screenwriters behind CBS Films’ upcoming Cole Sprouse starrer, Five Feet Apart, have been tapped by the studio to write the screenplay based on the social media sensation Esther the Wonder Pig. Jack Leslie and Lauren Shuler Donner of Donners’ Company, the company that produced the animal rescue films Free Willy and Hotel for Dogs, are producing this project.

The pic will follow the true story of how a couple adopts what they believe is a pigmy pig, also sometimes colloquially referred to as a micro piglet. Esther joins the family at five pounds and then grows to 650 inspiring the local community and millions of online followers in the process.

Paramount Insurge, the studio's new low-budget arm, has acquired the indie supernatural thriller "The Devil Inside" by writer-director William Brent Bell says Heat Vision.

Shot under the radar in Rome and Bucharest a year ago, the documentary-style story follows a woman (Fernanda Andrade) who has been led to believe her mother brutally murdered three people because she was clinically insane. After being told the murders occurred during an exorcism, she sets out to discover the truth.

While documenting her experience with a film crew in Italy, she becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms. Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth and Suzan Crowley also star while Morris Paulson and Matthew Peterman produced.

Meanwhile, IFC Films has acquired North American rights to Dermot Mulroney’s directorial debut "Love, Wedding, Marriage" reports Risky Biz Blog.

The romantic comedy follows a marriage counselor whose happy newlywed status is complicated by the news that her parents are suddenly talking divorce.

IFC Films bought North American rights to Love, Wedding, Marriage, the directing debut of actor Dermot Mulroney. Kellen Lutz, Mandy Moore, James Brolin, Jane Seymour and Jessica Szohr star. Moore plays a marriage counselor determined to save her parents' faltering marriage on the eve of their 30th anniversary surprise party. Pic was written by Anouska Chydzik Bryson and Caprice Crane. Chydzik Media Group and Voodoo Pictures financed the film and Icm brokered the sale.
