Apple TV+ has ended Mythic Quest after four seasons. The final episode of the workplace comedy aired on March 26 but will now be re-released with an updated ending. The revised version will be available next week on the platform.

The creators of the series — Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney — confirmed the cancellation and shared a statement acknowledging the decision and the final update. “Endings are hard. Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest has come to an end. The streamer has opted not to renew the gaming workplace comedy series for a fifth season. The decision comes days after the Season 4 finale dropped March 26.

Since it had not been conceived as a series finale, the Season 4 finale will now get a new ending to give fans closure. The updated episode will be made available next week.

Apple TV+ has released a chaotic new trailer for Mythic Quest Season 4. The highly anticipated new installment of the workplace comedy debuts on the streaming service on Jan. 29.

The one-minute and 48-second clip begins with Rob McElhenney's Ian visiting Charlotte Nicdao's Poppy in the middle of the night to tell her about a crazy dream he had. The trailer then cuts to David Hornsby's David telling the staff at the titular gaming studio about everything they have accomplished over the years. Viewers are then treated to a montage of hilarity which includes Dana (Imani Hakim) basking in her newfound fame, while the company faces a lawsuit related to their new game.

Writers Guild of America East leadership has touched down in Los Angeles for meetings to review the counter-offer by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers furnished on Aug. 11, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The WGA and the AMPTP are set to meet Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Exclusive: Conservative media company Blaze has made its first exclusive movie acquisition in the shape of comedy Re-Opening. The company is also lining up further comedy acquisitions and its first scripted series.

Re-Opening, which won a handful of awards at North American indie and comedy festivals last year, follows the cast and crew of a struggling theater in Pigeon Valley, Tennessee, as they attempt to prepare the theater to reopen after months of being closed down due to the Covid lockdown. The mockumentary, which nods to classics of the genre such as Waiting For Guffman, is co-directed, co-produced and co-written by TikTok comedy actory and Groundlings alum Chris Guerra who also stars alongside Kelsey Cooke (who also produces), Patty Guggenheim, Emily Pendergast and Leonard Robinson.

Natasha Rothwell directed Sunday night's episode of Insecure, and what a ride! The episode centered around Issa Dee (Issa Rae) and Nathan (Kendrick Sampson) and their dysfunctional relationship; Molly (Yvonne Orji) allowing herself to be vulnerable with her coworker Taurean (Leonard Robinson) amid her mom's ailing health; and, of course, Issa's wild fever dreams of assaulting her ex Lawrence's (Jay Ellis) baby momma Condola (Christina Elmore) and dunking their son, Elijah. "[The episode] typifies your 30s: 'What do I think? What do I feel like? What do I want? What do you want?'" Rothwell, who plays Kelli Prenny, told the Los Angeles Times.

Leonard Robinson has a warm and inviting smile, but that’s something fans of Insecure haven’t been able to see, because his character Taurean is always scowling.

This changed during Sunday night’s installment of the HBO comedy after Taurean finally warmed up to Molly (Yvonne Orji) during a work retreat. Molly, who woke up with a slight hangover and worries that she’d slept with her coworker, learned they hadn’t gotten that intimate, but she did have to give back Taurean his watch.

“Five years kind of felt the right amount of time to make our show,” admits Prentice Penny, Emmy-nominated showrunner of HBO’s acclaimed comedy “Insecure.” “I’m glad we’re leaving at a space when people still want us around. I mean, it’s better to leave, you know, a year early the year late, for sure.”

Just 24 hours ahead of the fifth and final season premiere of “Insecure,” creator and star Issa Rae welcomed hundreds of fans gathered at the parking-lot-turned-venue of Hilltop’s Coffee and Kitchen in L.A. for Insecure Fest — a five-hour live musical celebration of the show.

“I gotta shout out Hilltop for hosting this in the parking lot, make sure to go there and get you some lavender lattes because that’s my favorite,” Rae quipped, before giving a final thanks to HBO for giving her and the show this platform.

First held as a block party in Brooklyn celebrating “Insecure’s” first season, the festival has grown to mimic Rae’s character Issa Dee’s block party featured in Season 4 of the HBO comedy. As another real-life connection, hosting the event at Hilltop also represented Rae’s growing business empire, as she’s a partner with the coffee shop.

Urban Comedy Speed-Dating has been picked up for release by specialty distributor Rockstone Releasing.

Rockstone announced it has acquired the North American theatrical rights for the award-winning project starring Wesley Jonathan and Chris Elliott.
