Exclusive: Jamie Bell is set to star in World War II thriller Dynamite Room from the producers of Beast and Under The Shadow.

Fresh off acclaimed performances in Toronto drama Skin and Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool and ahead of a key role in Elton John biopic Rocketman, Bell will star in the Olly Blackburn-directed feature, which Altitude will launch for the Cannes Marché.

Set during July 1940, the story opens with 12-year-old evacuee Lydia walking through a village in rural England on a baking hot day. She is wearing a gas mask. The shops and houses are empty, windows boarded up and the village seemingly deserted. Leaving it behind, she arrives at a large house by the marshes – the house she grew up in. Lydia finds it empty too and her family gone.

Late that night comes Heiden (Bell), a soldier, gun in hand and heralding a full-blown German invasion.

“I walked up to her, and handed her a whip and said, ‘do whatever it is you’re comfortable with’ and she said, ‘don’t worry I’ve got it,’” director Jason Hewitt said about AnnaLynne’s scandalous scene.

It’s good to know that Val Kilmer has someone in his corner, a newfound hetero companion that will help him find decent work when all he can get is “The Traveler”. After starring together in both “Streets of Blood” and “Gun”, best friends forever Val Kilmer and 50 Cent are back in the cinematic saddle once again. Writer/director Jason Hewitt’s crime drama “Blood Out” finds the duo delivering some direct-to-video thrills alongside such Stv veterans as Luke Goss and Vinnie Jones. And while many are quick to piss all over their flicks, I happen to enjoy both Goss and Jones as actors, even when the films they choose to appear in are just this side of absolutely worthless. That may sound harsh, but even those guys know that their films are, at times, nearly unwatchable. “Blood Out” should hit DVD and Blu-ray on April 26th, 2011. In the meantime,...

 

Here's the new poster for Jason Hewitt's upcoming action flick Blood Out, starring Luke Goss, Vinnie Jones, Val Kilmer, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. The film tells the story of when big city detectives refuse to further investigate his kid brother's gang related murder, small town Sheriff Michael Spencer drops the badge and goes undercover to find his brother's killer and avenge his death. 

The action/thriller will hit theaters in limited release in April.

New York -- Dylan McDermott, Zoe Saldana, Lake Bell, Nick Stahl, Paz Vega and Shannen Doherty are about to set Los Angeles on fire.

They're heading into "Burning Palms," writer-director Christopher Landon's satire of Angeleno stereotypes as told through five interlacing stories.

The large ensemble cast also includes Adriana Barraza, Colleen Camp, Jamie Chung, Robert Hoffman, Peter Macdissi, Emily Meade, Anson Mount, Rosamund Pike, Austin Williams and Tom Wright. Each of their characters confronts taboos and an uncertain, often darkly humorous fate.

Oren Segal, Steven Prince and Jason Hewitt are producing the indie feature with exec producers Tyler Thompson, Vince Morella and Naz Jafri. Landon ("Disturbia"), who recently wrote "The Flock" for Warners, makes his directorial debut with "Palms."

"It's kind of like a John Waters version of 'Short Cuts,' " Segal said. The segments are based on popular stereotypes of West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Westwood and Holmby Hills.
