The poster for writer-director Mohit Ramchandani’s City of Dreams touts that the film is “from Executive Producers of Sound of Freedom,” though picking them out of the laundry list of credited names might take some time. Among the many producers of Ramchandani’s feature directorial debut who’ve thrown their support behind its marketing campaign are Tony Robbins, Linda Perry, Thomas Jane, and former Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Former Republican Presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy – who recently bought a minority stake in the media company BuzzFeed – is making his first foray into Hollywood by signing on to the forthcoming Roadside Attractions feature “City of Dreams” as an executive producer along with Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino (“Mighty Aphrodite”) – who has actively fought human trafficking around the world for decades – and Colleen Camp, a veteran character actor and producer known for “Apocalypse Now,” “Clue” and “American Hustle” (among many others). So, here’s the thing: going into Leatherface, I was primed to love it, despite not being a huge fan of Texas Chainsaw 3D (whose only saving grace was giving us the endlessly quotable line, “Do your thing, cuz!”). I’ll never write off a beloved franchise when I’m not crazy about a particular sequel—after all, if I had done that, I may never have fallen in love with Wes Craven’s New Nightmare or went bananas for Jason Lives. And for the most part, I was on board for Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s exploration of the Sawyer family’s demented dynamics, despite the fact that Leatherface feels like two-thirds The Devil’s Rejects and one-third Natural Born Killers.

But then, the film takes such an egregious misstep in the film’s third act that I completely checked out on Leatherface, and it left me wondering...

After a whole lot of waiting around for seemingly no good reason, the long-delayed Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel is finally going to hit theaters this year. And it will be here just in time for Halloween. Leatherface (no, not Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III), which has been done filming for a very long time now and has been awaiting a release, is now set to be released this October.

The news comes courtesy of producer Christa Campbell, who took to Twitter to share the news. Fans have been asking for months now as to when they can see Leatherface, because the project was announced more than three years ago and wrapped filming quite some time ago. Here's what Campbell had to say about it.

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, Ron Howard and the public, have selected 91 winning photographs from the Project Imaginat10n contest where five innovative celebrities - Eva Longoria (film and TV actress), Jamie Foxx (Academy Award winner), Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter), Georgina Chapman (designer and co-founder of Marchesa) and James Murphy (founder of LCD Soundsystem) - will direct short films based on ten of the photos.

A consumer vote helped narrow down the photographs, where one of the selected winners' photos was chosen by Ron Howard in the "Discovery" category to be a thematic tie across the celebrities' films. The directors will now each select one additional photograph from the other nine storytelling categories that personally inspire them, ultimately utilizing ten photos to represent their creativity and imagination. In addition to "Discovery," the themes include Character, Mood, Goal, Backstory, Setting, Obstacle, Relationship, The Unknown and Time.
