E! on Friday confirmed its plans to release the rom-coms Arranged Love, Ms. Match and Platonic this summer. Specific dates weren’t disclosed, though you can now view a teaser for all three films above.

Arranged Love centers on Meera, who after fleeing an arranged marriage as a young woman, leaving India and her inheritance behind, has made a name for herself in the tech world and now runs her own startup. When a costly problem threatens her company, however, marriage is exactly what she needs to solve it. In order to collect her inheritance in India, Meera comes up with a plan to inform her family she is, in fact, married – to the handsome Rama she met only moments ago – and returns home with him to sign the paperwork. As they keep up the ruse, Meera and Rama find themselves developing genuine chemistry, but this new arrangement brings yet another surprise.

Directed and written by Joe Begos (Almost Human), Bliss follows an artist named Dezzy who is confronted by the biggest block in creativity she’s ever experiences, and so attempts to free herself from this creative cage by doing all she can, taking her on a journey of drugs, sex and murder in the flashy sparkly hallucinatory underbelly of La.

This is one of those films that won’t find a huge audience, but it will find a niche audience who will fall for its gritty artsy nightmare feel, its drug-addled dark atmosphere and its heavy handed and confident style that is entirely its own. The film looks and plays out like an arthouse flick in both tone and performances from its cast.

We’ve already covered this on From Hell It Came, but now that I’ve seen it I wanted to put in another plug for Re-animator: The Musical, which has been extended at Hollywood’s Steve Allen Theater until mid-August and hopefully beyond.

As all Re-Animator fans know, Meg Halsey might suffer just a little bit more than the cult classic film's other characters, what with her being fought over by two men while struggling to keep her boyfriend from the twisted science of Herbert West, not to mention that whole disembodied-head-who-wants-to-give-her-head scene. So how did a nice girl like Rachel Avery wind up portraying Meg in Stuart Gordon's new stage muscial adaptation of his horror favorite? Movie fans have long loved director Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator, renowned for its twisted sense of humor and copious gore. Now, this horror gem is gaining a whole new audience. Gordon has recently taken his 1985 cult classic and, ahem, re-animated it as Re-Animator: The Musical, a tune-filled stage production that's been packing them in since it opened in February.

Playing at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood, Re-Animator: The Musical is directed by Gordon and stars George Wendt, Graham Skipper, Chris L. McKenna, Rachel Avery, Cynthia Carle and Jesse Merlin. Originally booked to run through March 27, the show has done so well that its run has been extended through May 29.

While co-hosting (with festival head Rachel Belofsky and Jonna Jackson) last week’s Screamfest La mixer at Te’Kila and 504 on Hollywood Boulevard (in attendance were horror movers and shakers John Skipp, F. Javier Gutiérrez, Stephen Goldmann, John Michael Elfers, Drina Durazo and more), I caught up with Re-Animator filmmaker Stuart Gordon in order to discuss his current projects as well as the currently previewing play Re-Animator – The Musical.

Opening on March 5th at the Steve Allen Theatre in Hollywood, CA, the stage musical incarnation of Gordon’s 1985 filmic hit (both of which center around Dr. Herbert West, a medical student obsessed with reanimating the dead) runs Friday through Saturday nights through March 27, and Gordon told us of the play over a cocktail amid the boisterous din, “Audiences seem to really like it, which is great! We’re previewing all weekend, and those nights are already sold out, which is a wonderful thing.
