‘Asteroid-a-Geddon’ DVD Review
Image
Stars: Eric Roberts, Veronika Issa, Terry Woodberry, Jennifer Lee Wiggins, Craig Gellis, Isaac J. Cruz, Gigi Gustin, D’Artagnan Woods, Rick Williamson, Regina McKee Redwing, Zachary Chicos, Juliana Destefano, Shawn C. Phillips | Written and Directed by Geoff Meed

[Note: With the film out now on DVD in the UK, here’s a reposting of our review of Asteroid-a-Geddon from its US streaming debut last year]

A global scientific summit debates and fails on a plan to stop a massive asteroid heading straight for Earth, with all countries blaming each other for the impeding disaster. With communications tense, the daughter of a tech billionaire assembles her own team of specialists to try to destroy the asteroid before it is too late.

The Asylum are back with yet another disaster movie, Asteroid-a-Geddon, only this one has a surprisingly on-point political undertone to it’s over-the-top end of the earth plot! ‘American Exorcism’ VOD Review
Stars: Michael Filipowich, Kate Tumanova, William McKinney, Jessica Morris, Jennifer Lee Wiggins, Braxton Davis, Sicily Fontaine, John Paul Sales, Luke Wright | Written and Directed by Tripp Weathers

Retired demon wrangler Damon Richter is pulled back into the game when his estranged daughter is possessed by the spirit responsible for destroying his life and family. Together with his ex-priest pal, the bearded, tattooed beach bum sets about putting his own supernatural abilities to good use. That is, of course, when he isn’t busy posing moodily and glowering from beneath his impressive beard, like an over-filtered Instagram celebrity.

Of all the horror subgenres, few lend themselves to low budget quite like the exorcism movie. Sure, there’s room for all the fancy special effects, pea soup and levitating demons that money can buy, but all you really need to make it work is a bed, some chains and a profanity-laced script.

First, it was written by two 19 year olds: Castille Landon and Harrison Sanborn.  Within weeks of them completing the script, the pilot was funded, with David Sauers (Taking Woodstock) and former Universal Studios legal exec Mark Wooster producing. It has now been fully cast and is set to begin production April 10 in Tampa, Fla. Morgan Fairchild leads the cast of the pilot, which also includes Robert Carradine, Charley Koontz (Community), Castille Landon and Jennifer Lee Wiggins. Workers Comp is a workplace comedy about a family insurance business owned by Joan (Fairchild) and the often bizarre comp claims they are forced to manage. Fairchild is with Rebel and McGowan Mgmt; Koontz with Pakula/King and McGowan Mgmt; Carradine with Fortitude; and...
