It’s Bridesmaids lite — very, very lite — in the tedious and dated The Wedding Invitation, in which three Los Angeles friends scramble for last-minute dates to the nuptials of a former high-school classmate. The strained comedy here might be progressive and feminist if we were still living in the 1960s, but today it reeks of an infantilization of women that warrants squashing, not celebrating.

It is disappointing to see a movie written and directed by a woman that casts female passive-aggressive idiocy as charmingly kooky.

“Tully” tells the story of Marlo (Theron), a mother of three who is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Duplass). This week Anchor Bay released the steamy new thriller 247˚F, which follows a group of 20-somethings on a rural getaway who accidentally get locked in their cabin's sauna and find themselves with only a few hours to get out before the heat gets the best of them.

Directed by Levan Bakhia and Bega Jgubria, 247˚F stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Travis Van Winkle, Michael Copon, Christina Ulloa and horror's resident badass Tyler Mane.

Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to jump on the phone briefly with Mane, who has played iconic characters throughout his career from Sabretooth to Michael Myers and has successfully made the leap from the world of professional wrestling almost 20 years ago now to become a writer/producer and star of his own independent horror project, Compound Fracture.

The extremely hot and claustrophobic thriller, 247°F is finally getting a Blu-ray and DVD release. On October 23rd, Anchor Bay Films presents the DVD and Blu-ray release of 247°F which brings together Scout Taylor-Compton and Tyler Mane (of Rob Zombie's Halloween films).

Christina Ulloa and Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13th 2009) also star.

Jenna (Taylor-Compton) is traumatized when she is trapped in a small vehicle after a car accident, forced to observe the mangled corpse of her fiancée in the driver’s seat until help arrives. Fast forward three years, Jenna and her three friends travel to a lakeside cabin for a carefree weekend. The fun quickly becomes a nightmare when three of them end up locked in a compact, hot sauna.

Now here's an interesting one. We've seen heaps of horror flicks set in space restrictive setups recently, such as Kaare Andrews' plane-based 'Altitude' or Adam Green's ski-left set 'Frozen'. So where else can we venture that confines, aids claustrophobia and more importantly will likely help hotties strip off for survival? A sauna of course! That's the steamy set piece for Levan Bakhia and Beqa Jguburia's new thriller '247degreesF'. The hot flick features actress Scout Taylor-Compton -below (star of horror remakes 'Halloween' and 'April Fool's Day') along with Travis Van Winkle, Michael Copon, Christina Ulloa, Tyler Mane and Tornike Gogrichiani. Surely we’ve all seen a movie or TV show where someone attempted to commit murder by locking someone in a sauna and setting the heat to full blast. But a whole survival horror movie built around three people trapped in a sauna as the temperature rises to a dangerous 247°F? That’s a new one.

That’s the premise of the new thriller 247°F from first-time directors Levan Bakhia and Beqa Jguburia and first-time writer Lloyd S. Wagner that was shot in the Republic of Georgia.
