Geoffrey Fieger(I)
- Additional Crew
Geoffrey Fieger is one of the most successful trial lawyers in the
country. He has published scholarly articles on the law and is
constantly in demand as an expert for high-profile media trials. His
charismatic personality made him the star of the Fox series Power of
Attorney and of the CBS radio program, Fieger Time. He appears
regularly on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and other networks commenting on various
legal issues and cases.
After three decades of practicing law, Fieger is best known for winning trials. He has won more multimillion-dollar awards than any other attorney in the country, including his very first trial. Some of his cases include the defense of Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the Jenny Jones Show; trial, and the defense of Nathaniel Abraham - the youngest person ever tried for murder as an adult in the U.S. Fieger has won record verdicts in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and South Carolina and many of his trials have generated national attention and set important legal precedents.
In every case and with every client, Geoffrey devotes himself to getting justice for his clients. He is a tireless and fearless champion for those whose rights have been violated. He has been characterized by his opponents as extremely well prepared, intimidating, charismatic... and, as the lawyer they would hire if they needed representation.
Fieger was the Democratic Party nominee for Governor of the State of Michigan in 1998, and the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University recently named its school for the education of trial lawyers The Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute.
In June 2008 after almost three years, Fieger, represented by the legendary Gerry Spence in his final trial, won his own court battle against the Gonzales/Rove/Bush Justice Department when he was acquitted on all counts of alleged illegal campaign donations.
Geoffrey has two degrees from the University of Michigan (B.A., 1974; M.A.,1976) and received his law degree from the Detroit College of Law-Michigan State University (J.D., 1979). He is a member of the Michigan and Florida Bar Associations.
Geoffrey is described by those closest to him as a caring and intensely loyal friend. His passions beyond law include art, exercise and time with his family. He has been married for over 25 years to his wife, Keenie. They have two sons and a daughter.
