Episode Review: Revenge - 2.01: "Destiny"
And so it begins. The anticipated season of Revenge starts with an underwater view of a sunken ship "Amanda" along with the remains of a dead body. A scuba diver that discovers the ship states "This was no accident". This is the first mystery of the second season. Mysteries and the dark side seems to be the theme for season 2 of Revenge. The scene switches to another underwater shot of Emily (Emily VanCamp), tied to a post, gasping for breath as the tide comes in rising higher and higher until Emily is totally underwater. The viewer is lured to the assumption that Emily is in danger and the object of a murder attempt. Emily is facing her death and is having long buried memories surfacing in her mind. Watching from the shore are two men. One a young man with a worried expression and an older man, Satoshi Takeda (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa...

Revenge Recasts Key Season 2 Role
A key role has been recast for Revenge Season 2.

As first reported by TV Guide, due to scheduling conflicts, Hiroyuki Sanada will not return as the character of Satoshi Takeda, the Asian man of mystery who helped Emily Thorne craft her scheme for vengeance.

And also work on some impressive roundhouse kicks.

The part will be played this fall instead by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who has appeared on episode of such shows as Heroes and Hawaii Five-0.

We won't need to wait long to see Tagawa as Takeda, either: producer Melissa Loy confirms he'll show up on the September 30 premiere and won't be going away any time soon.

Takeda will have a home on the drama as long as "Emily has revenge-school stories," Loy says.

'Revenge' recasts one of Emily's cohorts for Season 2: Who's pulling a switch?
"Revenge" has recast a key player for its upcoming second season, but don't worry! The Greysons remain intact. (No one could replace Queen Victoria.)

As TVGuide was first to report, Emily's secret revenge sensei, Satoshi Takeda, has been replaced. Mr. Takeda posed as a businessman to infiltrate Greyson Global... and even managed to land himself an invitation to that pivotal engagement party that set the stage for the season. In Season 1, he was played by "Lost's" Hiroyuki Sanada.

In Season 2, the part has been taken over by "Hawaii Five-0's" Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Producer Melissa Loy tells the mag that Tagawa has been fantastic in the role and brings something fresh to the character.

"Geographically, with our schedule being what it is, it was getting a little bit challenging," she says, explaining that Sanada would be filming "The Wolverine" in Australia while "Revenge" needed him. "We would have had to...

John Slattery Joins 'Arrested Development'
John Slattery
John Slattery will meet the Bluths in the new season of "Arrested Development."

According to TVLine, the "Mad Men" actor will appear in multiple episodes of the new 10-episode season set to stream on Netflix. Details of his role are being kept under wraps, but "Arrested Development" executive producer Ron Howard told MTV new characters would be introduced during the new season.

"Mitch [Hurwitz] isn't trying to recreate something," Howard said. "It's been away for a while, and part of the fun that Mitch has been mining and exploiting is, what's new to discover about these people? What's delightfully unchanged? He and the writing staff and the actors have a fantastic sense of that. They're pretty brazen, pretty bold and fearless. That's what made the show into something that fans really kept alive."

Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp in Revenge (2011)
'Revenge': Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa replaces Hiroyuki Sanada
Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp in Revenge (2011)
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will replace Hiroyuki Sanada in season two of Revenge. Sanada played Satoshi Takeda, mentor of Emily (Emily VanCamp), on the ABC drama's first run. However, the 51-year-old has been forced to drop out of future episodes due to a scheduling conflict, with producer Melissa Loy explaining that Sanada's role in movie The Wolverine - starring Hugh Jackman - made it impossible for him to reprise his Revenge part. "Geographically, with our schedule being what it is, it was getting a little bit challenging," Loy told TV Guide. "We would have had to fly him in and out of Australia [where Wolverine was filming], but [still] wouldn't have had him on the days we necessarily needed (more)...

[Spoiler Alert: If you have not seen tonight’s Revenge do not read further unless you want some very juicy happenings spoiled]

(l to r) Actors Josh Bowman, Nick Wechsler, Gabriel Mann.

ABC's hit freshman drama Revenge finally got to its big reveal tonight, something the show had been teasing ever since the first episode. Was that body on the beach really golden boy Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman)? Revenge hasn't disappointed all season, and tonight's pivotal episode "Chaos" kept up the winning streak, not only answering (or semi-answering) many burning questions, but also creating new quandaries and digging our troubled Hampton residents a little bit deeper into their respective holes. The good news? Looks like there's a heck of a lot to keep viewers hooked for the season's remaining seven episodes!

Following a screening earlier this week, AfterElton had a chance to chat with members of the cast, the episode’s director and one of the show’s executive producers. They gave us their take on some of tonight’s shockers but,...
