One Piece: 5 Major Voice Actors Who Passed Away Proving Oda Can No Longer Drag the Story for Years
Image
There are very few stories in the entertainment industry that have stretched out as long as Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, which started way back in 1997. The series has been going on for almost 30 years with the anime starting in 1999. However, even after going on for so long, it looks like the story will be dragged for a few more years before it reaches the finish line.

While fans are happy to get a continuous dose of One Piece, dragging the series for almost 30 years might not have worked so well for the creators. In fact, there are a few of them who have sadly passed away before even finding out the conclusion of the series. Most of these are voice actors who have offered their voices for the characters from One Piece.

“Azaad, Horse Takes Lead Over The Romantic Pair” – A Subhash K Jha Review
Image
The debut-making lead pair of this quaint concoction, Rasha Thadani and Aaman Varma, are refreshingly unspoilt in their screen presence. They would have done even better had they been launched in a contemporary milieu with lots of splashy colours and dancing, something like what Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are seen doing in Loveyappa.

Why is this Disneyesque film set during the British Raj where apparently the whip did all the talking? What Rasha and Aaman get is the toasted-brown ruggedness of the Chambal Valley , more suited to the Bandit Queen than the Pert Princess that debutante Rasha Thadani plays in an underdeveloped part which has no beginning or end.

Under the cloak of a virgin romance Azaad is a masculine film about the boys and the beast. Ajay Devgan playing the indulgent Chachu to the hilt both on and off screen , pitches in an extended cameo Bandit King Vikram Singh...

Demon (2015)
[Exclusive] Delve Into the Development of ‘Gori: Cuddly Carnage’ With This Making-of Documentary
Demon (2015)
After all of the praise for Angry Demon Studio’s Gori: Cuddly Carnage, you’re probably asking yourself just how the team managed to come up with such a fun (and bloody) concept. Wonder no more, as the developer has put together an exclusive making-of video, going into the development of the comedy horror action title, as well as Angry Demon Studio itself.

Divided up into three parts, the documentary kicks off with “Finding Gori”, in which Angry Demon Studio’s audio director William Sahl, animator Caroline Petri and designer/CEO John Kalderon cover the genesis of their hoverboarding skate n’ slash. “The idea started five years ago [in 2019]. We started everything in a thought of having a really cool mechanic that we wanted to build our entire game on,” explained John. That mechanic was the hoverboarding combat, which you see footage of in a 2019 prototype. Of course, the cat came later,...

Wired Productions Celebrates the Gory Glory of ‘Gori: Cuddly Carnage’ in New Accolades Trailer [Watch]
Image
With Angry Demon Studios’ Gori: Cuddly Carnage now out in the wild, publisher Wired Productions has released a brand-new accolades trailer to share the acclaim the game has received from fans and critics. Labeled by some as “Devil Meow Cry” and the “cat game of the year”, Gori currently holds a 97% positive review on Steam (which also has a limited-time discount until September 12), with a Strong rating on Opencritic and a 77% score on Metacritic.

The story for Gori: Cuddly Carnage centres on Cool-Toys Inc., which has created Ultra Pets, the ultimate companions that never hunger, never require bathroom breaks and are impervious to the ravages of time. Unfortunatley, a mutation has caused these perfect pets to transform into twisted toys straight from your nightmares, hell-bent on wiping out humanity. What’s worse, the Adorable Army has kidnapped Professor Y, Gori’s creator, and the only human who showed him and his friends love.

‘Gori: Cuddly Carnage’ Review: Claws Out
Image
On paper, Gori: Cuddly Carnage sounds like the height of 2000s cringe, mixing action-platforming reminiscent of PS2-era Ratchet & Clank and Metal Arms with a grim and gritty fairy-tale aesthetic that takes a page from American McGee’s Alice. Somehow, though, Angry Demon Studio has largely managed to get the formula just right, as Cuddly Carnage is just creepy enough to be unnerving, just edgy and trashy enough to sate a certain type of 13-year-old (and 13-year-olds at heart), and somehow still cute enough to be endearing.

Cuddly Carnage takes place in an disconcertingly cute post-apocalyptic future where humanity has been slaughtered by synthetic pets with advanced intelligence, slathering the world in bucket loads of blood and neon paint. All of them have been seemingly possessed by kill-crazy demons, their flesh contorting and mutating in distressing and increasingly lethal ways. Now, the planet’s only hope is the scientist...

Gori: Cuddly Carnage Review: A Furiously Fun Rogue-Lite Romp
Image
Gori: Cuddly Carnage wastes no time thrusting players into a world where toys have turned on their makers. Developed by Angry Demon Studios and published by Wired Productions, this hack-and-slash platformer stars an adorable synthetic feline named Gori. Armed with only a sentient hoverboard named Frank, Gori sets out to thwart the “Adorable Army” of homicidal playthings.

Players guide Gori across various levels, making use of Frank’s mobility for both exploration and combat. The hoverboard doubles as Gori’s main weapon, with blades and bludgeoning attacks aiding the fight against an ever-evolving roster of enemies.

From basic unicorns to flying bombardiers, players must adapt to each foe’s tactics. Supplementing Frank’s melee is a range of firearms and special techniques fueled by a vulnerability meter. Upgrades enhance Gori’s mobility, defense, and power over the course.

The third entry in the feline-focused RPG aims for familiar comforts and...

Gori: Cuddly Carnage Preview: Too Much At Once
Image
Quick Links Cutesy, Chaotic Visuals In A Spattered Mess Hacking & Slashing Gameplay Across Multiple Levels Story - Unnecessary or Infallible For A Horror Game? Final Thoughts on Gori: Cuddly Carnage Gori: Cuddly Carnage combines cute visuals with hyper-violence, offering a unique gaming experience. The gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed, with some clunky mechanics that need refinement. The game's story and characters add depth, but may not be necessary for players seeking pure violence.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage is putting all of its cards on the table. In marketing, it shows players a game that promises gore and viscera splattered across a cutesy canvas - hyperviolence, platforming challenges, and a desolate setting. Games that tote violence as their key factor have been coming thick and fast for years now, but the recent Doom reboot series has proven that streamlining is possible, even in a genre that could just as easily have grown stale.

Following her mother's passing and an emergency call, Mika returns to the island of Okinawa to see her father, Satoru, before he passes away due to being in critical condition with dementia. Yet, the lead has not felt fondly about him for years due to his continuous infidelity when her mom was alive. Slam Dunk Gets a Classic Japanese Makeover in Incredible New Fanart

With the hit manga making a comeback, Slam Dunk is now the subject of new fan art that uses a classic Japanese style to reinvent the acclaimed sports series. The lead members of Shohoku high's basketball team have never looked more epic than they dod here.

On Twitter, user @Justin96636 - known also as Chien Chih Kang - shared his ukiyo-e redesign of Slam Dunk's team. It features, from left to right, Takenori Akagi, Hisashi Mitsui, Hanamichi Sakuragi, Kaede Rukawa, and Ryota Miyagi. Above each in the art are fearsome animals, some of which match their nicknames while others don't. Sakuragi's nicknames aren't ideal, as he is responsible for Akagi being referred to as "Gori" (Gorilla), though his own, "red monkey" is missing. Instead, he has been paired with a tiger.

Italy’s Storied Cecchi Gori Being Partly Revived by Italian Investors Following Court Sale (Exclusive)
Image
Updated: Cecchi Gori, the movie company that once dominated Italy’s film industry and collapsed in the mid 1990s, is being revived by a group of Italian investors that are backing a partial relaunch of the storied brand behind Oscar winners “Life is Beautiful,” “Mediterraneo” and “Il Postino.”

Cecchi Gori Group was officially ruled bankrupt in 2006 by a Rome court after being awash in red ink for a decade after its owner, movie mogul Vittorio Cecchi Gori, branched out from film into television and acquired the A.C. Fiorentina soccer club in a bold expansion attempt that put him in competition with Silvio Berlusconi and went horribly wrong.

But even after the company’s various Italian sides went bust, its U.S. branches – Cecchi Gori U.S.A. and Cecchi Gori Pictures – continued to operate, headed by producer Niels Juul. Operating out of Los Angeles, Juul has been instrumental to...

Julien Baker has released B-Sides EP, featuring three previously unreleased songs from the recording sessions for her third LP, Little Oblivions.

The three-track EP, out now via Matador Records, includes “Guthrie,” which Baker dropped in June. The other two songs are “Vanishing Point” and “Mental Math.”

Baker released Little Oblivions last year, and followed the album with Little Oblivions Remixes, an EP featuring select tracks off her album that were remixed and reworked by artists like Helios, Half Waif, Gori, and Jesu.

Since releasing Little Oblivions, Baker has stopped by several late-night shows.

The Hilarious Way Jaws Came Up With Its Most Famous Line
Steven Spielberg.s 1975 thriller Jaws is widely credited as the first modern blockbuster, and it also made an entire generation pause and think, "You know what, on second thought maybe I don.t want to go swimming right now." As beloved and influential as the movie is, it.s seeped its way into a permanent position in popular culture, and one of the biggest instances of this is the phrase, "You.re gonna need a bigger boat." The line is funny enough on its own, but the way it came to be may be even more hilarious. One of the most quotable lines in movie history, it happened by accident. Writer Carl Gottlieb recently talked with The Hollywood Reporter, and revealed how the line came to be. Filmed largely on the water, the equipment for Jaws was all housed on a barge (nicknamed the USS Garage Sale), which, thanks to...

Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and B.J. Novak in The Office (2005)
'Best Dundies Ever!' TVLine Honors The Office With 24 Michael Scott-Approved Awards (Day 4)
Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and B.J. Novak in The Office (2005)
I believe Michael Scott perfectly summed up today’s emotions when he stated, “Well, this is gonna hurt like a motherf—er.”

The final day of both The Office and my Dundies extravaganza is upon us, and needless to say, it’s an emotional one. Among the last batch of personalized Dunder Mifflinite honors are the very best of Jim and Pam, Dwight and Pam, and even Kelly and Ryan.

But that’s not all: Members of the Office cast — including Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer – are also on hand (scroll way down) to give out their own special set of Dundies.

Hold me closer, tiny Dundie: The Office‘s series finale is now just one day away (airing Thursday at 9/8c on NBC). But thankfully, my personal Dunder Mifflin-themed kudos-fest is just getting underway, with two more fun-filled posts to go.

Video | The Office Series Finale — Honoring Dunder Mifflin With the Best Dundies Ever

Today’s award-ing walk down memory lane features a Jim and Dwight showdown, the return of Agent Michael Scarn, a Kelly Kapoor faux pas and more disdain of Toby Flenderson (who I’m still convinced is the Scanton Strangler). Has your favorite Office gem earned a nod yet?...

'Best Dundies Ever!' TVLine Honors The Office With 24 Michael Scott-Approved Awards (Day 1)

The Dundies, how can I explain it?

If you ask The Office accountant extraordinaire Oscar Martinez, the Michael Scott-masterminded accolades are “like a kid’s birthday party: You go and there’s really nothing for you to do there, but the kid’s having a really good time. So… you’re kind of there.” For Pam Beesley, meanwhile, they’re “like a car wreck that you want to look away [from], but you have to stare at it because your boss is making you.”

But it was Michael’s eloquent Season 2 description of the Dundies as being “about the best in...

It Came From 1980X: Vultra Video is for Shot-On-Video Lovers. Subscribe Now!!!
So there are two movements peacefully coexisting within the horror community regarding the quality of video you’re watching at home on your oversized television screen. The first movement involves a thing called a “blu ray” (not a death ray so don’t feel threatened by it). It provides beautiful high defintion picture, crystal audio, plenty of space for rad extra features, usually, more special features than your brain has room for. On the other side of the spectrum, there’s shot-on-video movies. By shot-on-video or Sov for short we mean movies that are shot on or made to look like they’ve been shot on camcorders on VHS tape or other similar medium. I believe the word you’re looking for is dichotomy or maybe something more philosophical like yin and yang. Today we’re here to talk about the Sov varietal with which you may be slightly unfamiliar...

'Community,' 'Happy Endings,' 'Psych': Zap2it's favorite comedic episodes of 2011
You've seen our favorite drama episodes of 2011. Now, for the stuff that made us laugh.

As you'll see below, we love us some "Community" and "Parks and Recreation" at Zap2it. But we also found room for episodes of shows that aren't always consistent still capable of being very good. And also "Jersey Shore," which is not strictly a comedy but sure can be funny.

These were our favorite comedic episodes of 2011. What were yours?

Andrea Reiher

"Community" - "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons": There were a lot of great "Community" episodes in 2011, but my personal favorite was when the gang took Fat Neil under their collective wing and played an epic game of Dungeons & Dragons to make him feel included. From the portentous voiceover to Annie's hilarious portrayal of Hector the Well-Endowed, it was a massively fun episode.

"Psych" - "Last Night Gus": Gus and Shawn having adventurous shenanigans...

Steve Carell Snubbed for 'Office' Emmy
Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and B.J. Novak in The Office (2005)

While there's no doubt Jim Parsons does incredible work as Sheldon on 'The Big Bang Theory,' one of the biggest bummers of Sunday's Emmy Awards telecast was the inimitable Steve Carell losing out on his final chance to win an Emmy for his six-year stint as Michael Scott on 'The Office.'

Though the show's writing has been uneven in recent seasons, there's no doubt Carell's performance -- especially in the episode 'Garage Sale,' where Scott proposed to longtime girlfriend Holly Flax -- was statuette-worthy.

Carell has been nominated for acting Emmys and Golden Globes for all six years he's played Michael Scott, but the only win he took for the character was in 2006, when he nabbed the Globe. The actor left 'The Office' this year, so it was his last chance to snag some Emmy love.

'The Office': Michael Scott says goodbye, and so do we
Michael Scott's (and Steve Carell's) last day at "The Office" promises to be an emotional one. This isn't going to be a play-by-play live blog, exactly, but we're hoping to capture our initial impressions of Carell's goodbye more or less as they happen. Come along for what we're expecting to be a tear-jerking ride.

So, here we go. NBC showed "Garage Sale" leading into this episode, so we're suitably prepared to get all sentimental.

Cold open: Fresh Rocky Mountain oysters, huh Dwight? It seems on-point that Dwight would be more concerned about his own future than Michael leaving. Also: The roof of Dunder Mifflin is probably not quite enough to get used to the altitude in Colorado.

Act 1 (more or less; we'll use commercial breaks to signify the segments of the episode, even if that doesn't match the act breaks in Greg Daniels' script): Wait -- Michael...

Kevin Smith Auctions Movie Props For Red State Funds
Kevin Smith famously decided to fund his own film, Red State, during its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.  Now the director is trying to raise funds for the film by auctioning off props from his various films.

The auction, called Kevin Smith Sells Out: The Offocial Askewniverse Garage Sale, will take place on April 10 at the Pasadena Convention center in Pasadena, CA.

Silent Bob and his partner Jay (JAson Mewes) will be on hand to participate in the auction and give fans some background info on the different props.

Some of the items on the auction block include, a set of wings worn by Ben Affleck in Dogma, a cash register from Clerks II, and many different costumes from various movies.

Surprisingly, Smith also announced he is going to retire from film making next year.  What's he going to do instead?...

Will Arnett Will Not Be The New Boss
By Roger Friedman

HollywoodNews.com: There’s news today that Will Arnett has joined the cast of a Lorne Michaels-produced pilot co-starring Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph. That most certainly means that Arnett will not be the new boss on “The Office,” even though Ricky Gervais first told me on Golden Globe night that he wanted him. And so the mystery of who will succeed Steve Carell deepens. With Arnett scratched from the list, it seems more and more possible that Gervais himself will take the spot. (Will Ferrell, coming in for four episodes, returns to films.) Gervais re-appears in the final episode of “The Office” after making his debut back on January 27th as a sales guy looking for a job.

Gervais had told me that the January 27th episode would give a big clue about who’s going to run Dunder Mifflin. Gervais has his animated show with HBO,...

TV Recap: ‘The Office: Garage Sale’
The Office has finally stopped lollygagging around the Michael-Holly will-they/won’t-they (of course they will) question? and given us what we all expected: The Proposal, albeit coyly buried under the episode’s evasive title “Garage Sale.” But who’s complaining? In the show’s 145-episode run, it’s deftly avoided cheap sentiment, and though Michael’s erratic behavior can be grating, [...]...
