Podcast studio Kast Media and production company Big IP Media have teamed up for a multi-year distribution deal for four popular shows that simulcast on podcast and video platforms and a first-look deal for new simulcast projects.

The two companies announced a distribution deal last month for Happy Sad Confused, an interview podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz that launched in 2014, added YouTube to its distribution in 2022, and just launched in video on Spotify.

Kast Media and Big IP Media now add four shows to their partnership: The John Campea Show, The Big Thing, The Dan Murrell Podcast, and Star Wars Explained. A fifth — The Office Virgin, an episodic recap of The Office — produced by Scott Porch and John Campea will launch in the spring.

Freddie Prinze Jr., who voiced Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars Rebels, admitted that he will no longer reprise his fan-favorite character in future Star Wars projects.

In Dave Filoni’s beloved animated series, Kanan Jarrus was introduced as former Jedi Padawan Caleb Dume who became a mentor to Ezra Bridger. The final season featured Kanan sacrificing himself to save his better half Hera Syndulla and other friends from Imperial forces. During a recent interview on Kristian Harloff’s podcast, Prinze opened up about his most recent voice cameo as Kanan in Star Wars: The Bad Batch, revealing that he actually didn’t want to do it because he believes it undermines his character’s heroic ending. "I was asked to, yeah. I didn't necessarily want to," he said. "I feel like every time you hear Kanan's voice since Rebels ended, it really kind of dilutes his impact."

Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors are getting their gains in. The final trailer for “Creed III” dropped Wednesday, showcasing the two stars in training montages and some knockout fights.

The third installment in the “Rocky” spinoff film series stars Jordan as the title character, boxing star Adonis Creed. Now thriving in his career and family life, Adonis reunites with Damian (Majors) a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy who served a long prison sentence and is eager to prove himself in the ring. The two quickly develop a bitter and intense rivalry, one that forces Adonis to face his past mistakes.

Exclusive: Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast is nearing 500 episodes, having featured interviews with the likes of Daniel Craig, Adam Sandler, Henry Cavill, Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis.

Horowitz has now signed a partnership with Kast Media to market, distribute and monetize the show.

It comes as the celebrity interviewer is putting up massive numbers for recent episodes including more than 14M for a recent chat with Kate Winslet in December.

Horowitz, who covers film and TV for Paramount Global across its MTV, Comedy Central, and Paramount+ outlets, launched the podcast in 2014 and set it up on YouTube at the end of 2022.
